Overview
The Associated CR12 Shock Cap Bushings (AS41027) are genuine OEM replacement parts designed specifically for the Associated CR12 platform. Whether you're a dedicated RC enthusiast in the UK looking to maintain your RC car, or someone who needs quality spares for routine servicing, these bushings are an essential component for keeping your shock assemblies in peak working condition. The CR12 is a popular platform amongst RC car enthusiasts, and maintaining it with genuine replacement parts ensures reliability and consistent performance on every run.
These shock cap bushings are ideal for routine maintenance and full rebuilds of your CR12 suspension system. Over time, the bushings in your shock assemblies can wear from repeated use, leading to play in the suspension and reduced handling precision. By replacing worn bushings with these genuine Associated parts, you restore the tight tolerances that keep your RC car's suspension responding predictably. The clear part identification of the AS41027 designation makes it straightforward to select the correct spares when refreshing your CR12 shocks or carrying out a complete rebuild.
As an authorised Associated retailer, RC Model Shop stocks genuine factory parts that meet the exact specifications required by the CR12 platform. These bushings are standard fitment parts that ensure compatibility and performance, giving you peace of mind that you're installing quality components from the manufacturer who engineered your model.

Technical Performance
The Associated CR12 Shock Cap Bushings are engineered to exacting standards to maintain the suspension geometry and responsiveness of your CR12. Shock bushings play a crucial role in the overall suspension assembly, providing support and alignment for the shock cap whilst minimising unwanted movement and play. As wear items subject to constant compression, extension and lateral forces during driving, these bushings gradually compress and deteriorate, leading to a loss of suspension precision and potentially affecting handling characteristics. By replacing them with genuine factory parts, you ensure that your CR12's suspension maintains the engineering tolerances that Associated designed into the platform. These bushings are manufactured from durable materials selected specifically to withstand the demands of RC driving, whether you're running on tarmac, carpet, grass or concrete surfaces. The CR12 platform has earned recognition amongst RC enthusiasts across the UK for its balanced performance characteristics, and maintaining it with quality spares like these helps preserve that engineering excellence.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these genuine Associated parts suitable for my CR12? — Yes, the AS41027 is a genuine OEM part manufactured by Team Associated specifically for the CR12 platform. The clear part identification ensures you're installing the correct factory component, and these are standard fitment parts that work seamlessly with your model.
- When should I replace my shock cap bushings? — Shock bushings are wear items that should be inspected regularly and replaced during routine servicing or whenever you notice play or looseness in your shock assembly. If your CR12 feels less responsive than usual or if you detect movement when wiggling the shock cap, it's time to replace the bushings. Many RC enthusiasts replace them as part of regular maintenance schedules.
- What is the difference between OEM parts and aftermarket alternatives? — Genuine OEM parts like the AS41027 are manufactured by Team Associated to exact factory specifications and tolerances, ensuring perfect fit and optimal performance. They're engineered specifically for your CR12, whereas aftermarket alternatives may vary in quality and fit. For critical components like suspension bushings that directly affect handling, genuine parts are the preferred choice.
- Can I install these myself? — These are replacement bushings designed for installation during shock servicing or rebuild work. If you're comfortable working on your RC car's suspension, installation should be straightforward using standard RC tools and a shock rebuild guide specific to your CR12 model. If you're new to RC maintenance, our team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance or recommend a local hobby shop that offers build services.
- How long do shock bushings typically last? — The lifespan depends on driving frequency and conditions. Regular bashers might replace bushings every few months, whilst occasional drivers may only need them annually. High-intensity racing or driving on abrasive surfaces accelerates wear. Including bushing replacement in your regular maintenance routine ensures your CR12 always performs at its best.
- Will replacing the bushings improve my CR12's handling? — Yes, if your current bushings are worn, replacing them will restore the suspension's original precision and responsiveness. You'll notice tighter handling and more predictable suspension response, which translates to improved control during driving.
