RC car UK enthusiasts trust Team Associated spares because they maintain the exacting standards of the vehicles themselves.

Sourced from Team Associated, one of the most respected names in RC touring cars, this spur gear is an essential component for anyone serious about their RC car performance. Key Features

  • 66-Tooth Precision Design — With 66 teeth, this spur gear is engineered to provide the exact gear ratio and meshing characteristics required for optimal performance in the TC6.1 touring car, ensuring smooth power transfer from the motor to the driveshaft.
  • 48 Pitch (48DP) Specification — The 48 pitch measurement indicates this is a precision gear manufactured to tight tolerances, which is essential for minimising backlash and vibration during high-speed competition driving.
  • Team Associated OEM Part — As an official Team Associated part, this spur gear is manufactured to the exact specifications used in factory TC6.1 builds, guaranteeing perfect compatibility and reliable performance.
  • Genuine Replacement Component — This is a consumable wear item, and having genuine replacements on hand ensures you can maintain your TC6.1 in peak condition for racing or recreational driving.
  • Alternative to HPI-113706 — For customers who may have existing setups or spare parts from other manufacturers, this gear is confirmed as a direct alternative, offering compatibility and performance across multiple 1/10 scale touring car platforms.
  • Essential for TC6.1 and Compatible Platforms — The AS3924 is specifically listed as an optional part for the Team Associated TC6.1, with compatibility also noted for TC6, TC7, TC7.1, TC7.2, Apex, F6, and Element Gatekeeper chassis, making it a versatile spare for multiple Team Associated vehicles.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated 66T Spur Gear operates at 48 pitch (DP), a specification that indicates the gear is manufactured with 48 teeth per inch of diameter. This precision measurement is crucial in RC car engineering because it defines how the spur gear meshes with the pinion gear on your motor. A properly meshed gear setup reduces friction, minimises power loss, and prevents unwanted noise or vibration during acceleration and high-speed running. The 66-tooth configuration is designed to work in harmony with specific pinion gear sizes commonly used in 1/10 scale touring cars, creating a balanced gear ratio that optimises acceleration, top speed, and overall drivability.

Manufactured from hardened steel or similar durable materials typical of Team Associated OEM components, this spur gear is built to withstand the continuous stress of racing environments and competitive driving. The teeth are precisely cut to maintain consistent engagement with the pinion gear, which is essential for preventing power loss and extending the operational life of your drivetrain. Whether you're running practice sessions, competitive races, or casual weekend bashing with your RC car UK setup, the quality engineering of this gear ensures reliable performance. The gear is a direct replacement for wear, which is a natural consequence of RC car operation — regular inspection and replacement of worn spur gears is standard maintenance practice for touring car enthusiasts who want to maintain peak performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the Team Associated 66T Spur Gear 48DP compatible with my RC car? — The AS3924 is designed as an optional part for the Team Associated TC6.1 1/10 scale touring car, and is also compatible with TC6, TC7, TC7.1, TC7.2, Apex, F6, and Element Gatekeeper chassis. It is also listed as a direct alternative to HPI-113706, so if you're running HPI touring cars or other 1/10 scale platforms that use this gear specification, it should be compatible. We recommend checking your vehicle's manual or contacting our expert team at RC Model Shop to confirm compatibility with your specific setup.
  • When should I replace my spur gear? — Spur gears are consumable wear items that gradually wear down through use, particularly in competitive racing or heavy bashing. Signs of wear include grinding noises from the drivetrain, visible damage to the gear teeth, or inconsistent power delivery. Most serious RC car UK enthusiasts carry spare spur gears and replace them regularly to maintain optimal performance and prevent damage to other drivetrain components.
  • What is the difference between 48DP and other pitch specifications? — The DP (Diametral Pitch) rating indicates the fineness of the gear teeth — 48DP is a relatively fine pitch, which means the teeth are smaller and more numerous than larger pitch gears like 32DP. Finer pitch gears (higher DP numbers) provide smoother, quieter meshing and are typically used in precision applications like touring car racing. The 48 pitch specification is specifically engineered for the TC6.1 and compatible platforms.
  • Is this an official Team Associated part? — Yes, the AS3924 is an official Team Associated OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) spare part. Purchasing genuine Team Associated spares ensures your vehicle maintains factory specifications and performance characteristics. Genuine parts are always recommended over aftermarket alternatives for maintaining reliability and preserving resale value.
  • Why would I need a replacement spur gear? — The spur gear is in constant contact with the pinion gear driven by your motor, so it experiences continuous wear during operation. Regular replacement is essential maintenance for any serious RC car enthusiast. Having spare spur gears on hand means you can quickly replace worn units and keep your RC car UK ready for racing or recreational driving without downtime.
