Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 15 WT is an essential maintenance product for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision tuning and optimal shock absorber performance. Whether you're a competitive racer fine-tuning your 1/10 scale RC buggy or a weekend basher maintaining your off-road RC truck, high-quality shock oil is fundamental to achieving consistent suspension geometry and predictable handling characteristics. This 150ml bottle of ultra-pure silicone shock oil delivers the exact viscosity and purity your RC vehicle requires for smooth damping and reliable performance across varied racing conditions.

Team Corally has established itself as a recognised manufacturer of quality RC components and consumables, and this shock oil represents their commitment to precision engineering for the RC hobby. The 15 WT (weight) viscosity rating makes this product ideal for general-purpose shock tuning on many popular RC platforms, offering the perfect balance between responsiveness and stability. If you're serious about maintaining your RC car UK investment and achieving competitive lap times or consistent bashing performance, premium shock oil is not optional—it's essential.

This ultra-pure silicone formulation ensures minimal impurities that could affect damping characteristics or internal shock seals. When you're adjusting your shock setup for different track conditions—from carpet circuits to outdoor dirt—having consistent, high-quality oil means your changes are genuine tuning adjustments, not variations caused by oil degradation or contamination. Corally's shock oil is the choice of discerning RC racers and enthusiasts who understand that suspension setup is where championships are won.

Key Features

  • Ultra Pure Silicone Formula — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, which means there are no fillers, additives or contaminants that could compromise shock performance or damage internal seals and bushings, ensuring your suspension operates at peak efficiency.
  • 15 WT Viscosity Rating — The 15 weight specification provides the ideal balance of damping resistance for most RC cars, offering smooth shock response without being too stiff or too loose, making it suitable for general racing and bashing applications across different track conditions.
  • 150ml Bottle Size — This generous 150ml capacity provides enough shock oil to completely service multiple shock absorbers or maintain your RC vehicles through an entire season of racing and maintenance, reducing the need for frequent repurchasing.
  • Precision Tuning Capability — By using consistent, high-quality shock oil, you can make meaningful suspension adjustments that translate directly into handling changes, rather than experiencing unpredictable behaviour caused by oil degradation or impurities.
  • Team Corally Quality Assurance — As an official Corally product, this shock oil meets the manufacturer's exacting standards for purity, viscosity stability and performance, ensuring you're using the same consumables trusted by competitive RC racers.
  • Compatibility Across Platforms — The 15 WT specification works across a wide range of RC cars including RC buggies, RC truggy trucks, RC monster trucks and RC short course trucks that use standard shock absorbers.
  • Safety Documentation Included — Comprehensive Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available in multiple languages including English, German, French and Dutch, ensuring safe handling and storage of this product.

Technical Performance

Shock oil viscosity is one of the most critical tuning variables in RC suspension setup, and selecting the correct weight is fundamental to achieving the handling characteristics you desire. The 15 WT rating on this Corally product places it in the middle of the viscosity spectrum, making it the ideal starting point for most RC car platforms and driver skill levels. At this viscosity, the oil provides adequate resistance to prevent shock collapse under cornering loads whilst remaining responsive enough to track surface irregularities and maintain tyre contact. The ultra-pure silicone construction means the viscosity remains stable across temperature variations—crucial for maintaining consistent handling whether you're racing during cool morning sessions or hot afternoon tournaments. Pure silicone formulations are also superior to synthetic blends because they don't degrade as rapidly under the constant shearing forces generated by shock piston movement, meaning your oil maintains its tuning characteristics for longer between services. The 150ml capacity is precisely calculated to provide multiple shock refills; most RC cars require 30-50ml per shock depending on design, giving you enough product to service 3-5 shock absorbers fully. For competitive racers running multiple vehicles or serious hobbyists maintaining their RC collection, this size is economical and practical.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does 15 WT mean and how do I know if this is the right viscosity for my RC car? — WT stands for weight and describes the viscosity or thickness of the oil. Lower numbers (7-10 WT) create softer, more responsive suspension; higher numbers (25-35 WT) create stiffer, more controlled suspension. The 15 WT rating is the industry standard starting point and works well on most popular RC platforms including 1/10 scale buggies, stadium trucks and monster trucks. If your vehicle feels wallowy or dives excessively under acceleration, try a heavier weight; if it feels too stiff and bouncy, try a lighter weight. Always check your chassis manual for the manufacturer's recommended starting viscosity.
  • Is this shock oil suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. In fact, beginners should start with standard 15 WT shock oil because it's the most universally compatible viscosity and allows new drivers to learn suspension tuning without the confusion of experimenting with extreme viscosities. Once you understand how suspension adjustments affect handling, you can experiment with heavier or lighter oils to fine-tune for specific conditions.
  • How often should I change my shock oil? — Most RC racers recommend servicing shocks every 10-20 hours of running time or before major competitions, depending on track conditions and how hard you drive. Dusty or wet conditions require more frequent servicing because dirt and moisture contaminate the oil faster. Quality shock oil like this Corally product maintains its performance longer than budget alternatives, making it cost-effective over the long term.
  • Can I mix different viscosity shock oils together? — No, mixing different viscosity oils will create unpredictable damping characteristics and defeat the purpose of precision tuning. Always use the same viscosity across all four shocks on your RC car, and when refilling, drain old oil completely before adding new oil to ensure consistent performance.
  • What is the difference between silicone shock oil and synthetic shock oil? — Pure silicone oil, like this Corally product, is superior because it resists shearing (thinning under high pressure and motion) significantly better than synthetic alternatives, maintaining consistent viscosity longer. Silicone also provides better chemical stability and is less likely to form residues inside shocks, making it the preferred choice for precision RC applications.
  • Is this product available at RC Model Shop? — Yes, the Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 15 WT is stocked at RC Model Shop, your trusted UK RC retailer with expert knowledge of suspension setup and vehicle maintenance across all popular platforms.
