Overview

The Team Associated TC7 Shock Eyelet Set (AS31700) is an essential replacement and upgrade component for RC enthusiasts maintaining or tuning their Team Associated TC7 off-road buggy. This precision-engineered spare part includes both cap and shaft eyelets, the critical connection points where your shock absorbers attach to the chassis and suspension arms. Whether you're a dedicated racer fine-tuning your competition machine or a weekend basher looking to keep your RC car UK-ready and performing at its best, having quality replacement eyelets on hand is fundamental to keeping your suspension running smoothly. These eyelets are wear items that take considerable punishment during aggressive driving, jumps, and high-speed cornering, making them regular replacements in any serious RC hobbyist's spares box.

Team Associated has built a legendary reputation in the RC car hobby for producing some of the most competitive and reliable off-road buggies available to UK buyers. The TC7 platform has proven itself across countless race meetings and casual bashing sessions, and maintaining it with genuine Team Associated parts ensures you're preserving the performance and handling characteristics that make this chassis such a joy to drive. The shock eyelet set is a straightforward but vital component—when these eyelets become loose, cracked, or worn, suspension geometry suffers, steering becomes unpredictable, and your shocks may even detach during a race or run. By stocking this spare, you'll ensure you can get back on the track or field within minutes rather than being sidelined by a suspension failure.

Available in the UK through RC Model Shop, this genuine Team Associated spare is priced affordably at just £2.94, making it an economical addition to your spares collection. Keep several sets in your pit box and you'll never be caught out by shock eyelet wear or damage. The compact, lightweight design means you can carry multiple sets without adding significant weight to your kit bag, and installation requires only basic RC tools and a few minutes of your time.

Key Features

  • Genuine Team Associated Component — Manufactured to OEM specifications by Team Associated, ensuring perfect fitment and durability that matches the quality standards of your TC7 chassis and suspension system.
  • Direct Replacement Part — Designed specifically for the TC7 platform, these eyelets will integrate seamlessly with your existing suspension setup without requiring any modification or adaptation.
  • Wear Item Essential — Shock eyelets experience constant stress from suspension articulation, impacts, and directional changes, making them one of the most frequently replaced components in any RC car's maintenance schedule.
  • Affordable Spares Solution — At under £3, this is an economical way to keep your RC car UK-ready and prevent expensive downtime caused by suspension failure.
  • Compact and Portable — The small size and light weight make these eyelets perfect for carrying in your pit box or spares bag, ensuring you're prepared for any eyelet-related issues at the track.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated TC7 Shock Eyelet Set represents precision engineering at the microscopic level. These eyelets serve as the critical pivot points where your shock absorber's rod end and cap connect to the chassis and suspension arms, directly influencing your buggy's suspension geometry, damping response, and overall handling balance. Team Associated manufactures these components from durable materials engineered to withstand repeated compression and extension cycles, lateral loads during cornering, and the shock loading that occurs during jumps and hard landings. The cap eyelet connects to the top of your shock absorber and anchors to the chassis, whilst the shaft eyelet connects to the bottom of the shock and mounts to your suspension linkage. When these components wear or become loose, the entire suspension geometry shifts, resulting in unpredictable steering response, inconsistent damping feel, and potential for complete shock detachment during aggressive driving. This is why maintaining pristine eyelets is fundamental to keeping your Team Associated TC7 performing at its peak, whether you're running on the track for competition or bashing through grass and dirt fields for recreational enjoyment. The genuine OEM specification ensures compatibility with all TC7 variants and maintains the precise suspension characteristics that Team Associated engineers calibrated during chassis development.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What exactly are shock eyelets and why do they need replacing? — Shock eyelets are the threaded connection points at the top (cap) and bottom (shaft) of your shock absorber where they pivot and attach to your chassis and suspension arms. These components experience constant rotational and compressive stress during driving. Over time, the threads can strip, the eyelets can crack from impact loading, or they may become loose, all of which severely compromise your suspension's ability to function correctly and can lead to complete shock detachment during racing or aggressive bashing.
  • Will these eyelets fit my Team Associated TC7? — Yes, these eyelets are manufactured specifically for the Team Associated TC7 platform and will provide a direct replacement fit without any modification required. They are designed to the original equipment manufacturer specification, ensuring perfect compatibility and performance restoration.
  • How often should I replace my shock eyelets? — This depends heavily on your driving style and environment. Competitive racers who run frequently may replace eyelets every few months, whilst casual bashers might find they last longer. We recommend inspecting your eyelets regularly during routine maintenance and replacing them whenever you notice threading wear, cracks, or excessive looseness. Always carry spare eyelets to your track sessions.
  • Can I install these myself? — Yes, eyelet replacement is a straightforward task suitable for intermediate RC hobbyists. You'll need a shock tool or small wrench to disassemble your shock absorber, and basic hand tools to remove the old eyelets and install the new ones. If you're unfamiliar with shock service, our experienced team at RC Model Shop is happy to provide guidance or assist with installation.
  • How many eyelets come in this set? — This set includes one cap eyelet and one shaft eyelet, providing the complete pair needed for a single shock assembly. If you want to replace both front and rear shocks, you'll need to order two sets.
  • Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Absolutely. These are genuine OEM Team Associated components manufactured to the exact specifications used in original TC7 assemblies. Using genuine parts ensures optimal fitment, durability, and suspension performance.
  • Why should I choose this over generic eyelets? — Generic eyelets may save a few pence initially, but they often feature inferior material quality, loose tolerances, and may not perfectly match the original suspension geometry. Genuine Team Associated eyelets ensure your shocks function exactly as designed and maintain the precise handling characteristics your TC7 is engineered to deliver.
