Technical Performance
The Carisma XT-60 Connector represents proven connector technology that has become the standard choice across electric RC vehicles throughout the UK and worldwide. This connector type is engineered to provide reliable, low-resistance connections that are essential when working with brushless motors, lithium polymer batteries, and modern electronic speed controllers. The XT-60 design delivers excellent current-carrying capacity, making it suitable for high-performance RC setups ranging from 3S LiPo systems to more powerful multi-cell configurations. The connector's robust construction ensures it withstands repeated use, frequent disconnections and the demanding conditions of RC racing and bashing. Whether you're upgrading your RC car's power system, replacing a damaged connector, or building a custom electric RC setup, the XT-60 connector provides the engineering quality and reliability that serious RC hobbyists demand. Frequently Asked Questions
- What is an XT-60 connector used for in RC cars? — The XT-60 connector is primarily used to connect electronic speed controllers (ESC) to power sources like LiPo batteries in electric RC vehicles. It provides a secure, high-current connection that allows your ESC to deliver power to the brushless motor efficiently. The XT-60 has become the industry standard for RC cars, buggies, trucks and other electric RC models.
- Is the Carisma XT-60 connector compatible with my RC car? — The XT-60 is widely compatible across the RC hobby, but compatibility depends on whether your ESC and battery already use XT-60 connectors. If your current setup uses XT-60 connectors, this Carisma connector will be compatible. Check your ESC and battery specifications to confirm they feature XT-60 connections.
- Why do I need spare XT-60 connectors? — Connectors can wear out, become damaged, or need replacement during RC vehicle upgrades and customisation. Having spare connectors means you can quickly repair your setup without waiting for replacements, keeping your RC hobby fun and uninterrupted. They're also useful when building custom power harnesses or upgrading from older connector types.
- What current rating does the XT-60 connector handle? — The XT-60 connector is designed for high-current applications typical in modern electric RC vehicles. While specific current ratings depend on the exact setup and wire gauges used, the XT-60 is suitable for most brushless RC cars, buggies and trucks, including competitive racing setups.
- How do I install the XT-60 connector? — Installation typically involves soldering the connector to your ESC power wires and battery leads. This should only be attempted if you have soldering experience. Alternatively, many RC retailers in the UK offer soldering and connector installation services. Ensure proper polarity when connecting — incorrect connection can damage your ESC and battery.
- Is the XT-60 better than other RC connectors? — The XT-60 has become the industry standard for electric RC vehicles because it offers excellent current handling, secure connections, and widespread compatibility. It's a reliable choice that's used by hobbyists, racers and manufacturers across the UK RC scene.
