Overview

The Team Associated M3 X 0.5 X 6 FHCS Screws (10) are essential replacement fasteners for RC car enthusiasts and serious hobbyists across the UK. These metric flat head cap screws are precision-engineered to meet the demanding standards of modern RC vehicles, from buggies and trucks to specialist off-road models. Whether you're maintaining your competition-grade RC buggy, performing routine repairs on your RC car UK collection, or building a new model from scratch, this convenient pack of 10 provides the exact fasteners you need for reliable assembly.

As an authorised Team Associated stockist, RC Model Shop supplies genuine OEM parts that ensure compatibility and durability across the entire Associated range. These screws are not generic hardware store items—they are specifically manufactured to Associated's exacting standards for use in professional and hobbyist RC applications. With their compact 6 mm length and specialised flat head cap screw (FHCS) design, they deliver the flush, countersunk fit required for precision RC engineering where component alignment and aesthetic finish are critical.

Perfect for anyone serious about maintaining their RC investment, these screws represent the kind of attention to detail that separates a well-maintained machine from one prone to vibration, loosening, and component failure. Whether you race competitively, bash casually at weekends, or enjoy the meticulous process of building and upgrading your RC models, having quality replacement fasteners on hand is essential for keeping your vehicles running at peak performance.

Key Features

  • M3 x 0.5 Metric Thread Size — These screws feature a precisely calibrated M3 thread diameter with 0.5 mm pitch, ensuring compatibility with Associated components specifically engineered to these ISO metric specifications and preventing cross-threading or loose fitment issues common with mis-matched fasteners.
  • Flat Head Cap Screw (FHCS) Design — The distinctive countersunk head profile allows screws to sit flush with component surfaces, eliminating protrusions that could catch on terrain, interfere with suspension movement, or cause aerodynamic drag during high-speed RC driving.
  • 6 mm Length — Precisely engineered for shallow-depth applications on RC chassis, bodies, and assemblies where longer fasteners would bottom out or create component misalignment, making these ideal for securing lightweight plastic and composite parts without over-penetration.
  • Pack of 10 Screws — A practical quantity that covers multiple repair, maintenance, or assembly tasks on several RC vehicles, reducing the need for frequent reordering whilst avoiding excessive bulk for casual hobbyists.
  • Genuine Team Associated OEM Parts — Manufactured to original equipment specifications rather than generic aftermarket standards, ensuring exact fit tolerances and material quality that match the engineering of your Associated RC vehicle.
  • Universal RC Application — Compatible with a comprehensive range of Associated models across different platforms and generations, making these a smart investment for any builder or competitor running Associated RC cars, buggies, trucks, or specialist vehicles.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated M3 X 0.5 X 6 FHCS Screws represent precision fastening engineering optimised for the unique demands of RC vehicles. The M3 x 0.5 metric thread is specifically chosen because it balances thread strength with the lightweight, compact packaging requirements of modern RC chassis design. The 6 mm length is calculated to provide sufficient engagement depth in printed circuit boards, composite bulkheads, and plastic component assemblies without creating protruding fastener heads that could disrupt suspension geometry or aerodynamic flow. The flat head cap screw profile is critical in RC applications because it eliminates any protrusion above the component surface—essential when securing body panels, wing mounts, electronics trays, or chassis braces where any protrusion could cause catching, vibration, or component damage during high-speed running or rough terrain bashing. The countersunk design also distributes clamping force over a wider surface area compared to socket head caps, reducing the risk of component surface cracking when tightened to secure specifications. These fasteners are manufactured from premium-grade materials specified by Team Associated to ensure corrosion resistance, fatigue strength, and dimensional consistency across the entire production batch. For serious RC enthusiasts in the UK running Associated buggies, trucks, or competition models, maintaining a supply of genuine OEM fasteners like these ensures that your maintenance routine uses exactly the same quality components that Team Associated engineers specified during original vehicle design.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between FHCS screws and standard socket head cap screws for RC cars? — FHCS (flat head cap screws) have a countersunk head that sits flush with the component surface when tightened, whereas standard socket head cap screws have a protruding cylindrical head. For RC applications, FHCS screws eliminate protrusions that could catch during high-speed running, interfere with suspension movement, or damage body panels. The countersunk design also distributes clamping load over a wider area, reducing risk of damage to lightweight composite materials used in RC construction.
  • Will these M3 x 0.5 x 6 screws fit my Associated RC model? — These screws are specified for general M3 applications requiring 6 mm countersunk fasteners across the Associated range, including popular models such as RC8, TC, B-series platforms and many others. However, compatibility depends on the specific component you are fastening. Always verify the original fastener specifications for your particular model before substituting. When in doubt, contact our expert team at RC Model Shop for fitment confirmation.
  • Why should I buy genuine Team Associated screws instead of generic metric fasteners? — Genuine OEM fasteners like these are manufactured to exact material specifications, thread tolerances, and hardness grades that match the design requirements of Associated vehicles. Generic metric screws from hardware stores may have different material properties, thread pitch variations, or head geometry that could result in poor fit, vibration loosening, or component damage. Using genuine parts preserves the integrity and reliability of your RC investment.
  • How many RC cars can I service with a pack of 10 screws? — This depends on your repair scope. A single screw replacement or assembly job typically uses 1-2 fasteners. A comprehensive component swap (such as replacing a chassis brace or electronics tray) might use 3-5 screws. A pack of 10 provides flexibility to handle several maintenance tasks across one or multiple vehicles before reordering.
  • Are these screws suitable for high-vibration off-road RC applications? — Yes. The M3 x 0.5 metric specification and precision manufacturing ensure excellent vibration resistance when properly tightened. However, best practice for RC vehicles includes using threadlock compound (such as medium-strength threadlocker) on fasteners in high-vibration areas, and checking fastener tightness before and after running sessions. This combination of quality fasteners plus proper maintenance technique ensures maximum reliability during intense RC action.
