Key Features

  • Genuine Associated Part — These are authentic Associated spares (part number AS31518), not aftermarket substitutes, ensuring perfect compatibility with all Associated RC vehicles and reliable performance that matches the original equipment specifications.
  • M2.5 x 4mm Flat Head Cap Screw Specification — The FHCS (flat head cap screw) design provides a flush, professional finish when installed, allowing screws to sit level with the mounting surface without protruding heads that could snag or interfere with moving parts.

  • Universal Compatibility — Suitable for general use wherever M2.5 x 4mm flat head screws are specified on RC cars, trucks, buggies and other Associated models, making these a versatile addition to your spares collection.
  • Routine Maintenance Essential — Perfect for refreshing worn hardware during regular maintenance cycles, helping prevent fastener failures and ensuring your RC vehicle stays secure and performs reliably throughout the season.
  • Workshop Essential — A useful addition to any pit box or workshop setup, these screws ensure you have genuine Associated spares ready when you need them, minimising downtime and keeping your models race-ready.

Technical Performance

The Associated Screws M2.5 x 4mm FHCS represent the kind of quality fastening solution that serious RC enthusiasts rely on. The M2.5 diameter specification, combined with the 4mm length, makes these screws ideal for securing lighter components and panels on RC vehicles where strength requirements are moderate but reliability is essential. The flat head cap screw design is engineered to provide a flush mounting surface, which is particularly important in RC applications where protruding fastener heads could cause aerodynamic disruption or interfere with moving suspension components, body panels, or electronic equipment. The FHCS specification ensures even pressure distribution across the mounting surface, reducing the risk of stripped threads or component damage during assembly and disassembly. As genuine Associated parts manufactured to the brand's quality standards, these screws are made from materials that resist corrosion and wear, even when exposed to the demanding conditions of RC racing and bashing activities. The precision engineering ensures consistent thread engagement and holding power across multiple assembly and disassembly cycles, making them ideal for the frequent maintenance that RC enthusiasts perform throughout the season. Whether you're preparing for a competitive race, heading out for a weekend bash, or simply maintaining your fleet of RC models, these screws provide the reliability and performance that serious RC car UK enthusiasts demand.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a flat head cap screw and why does my RC car need them? — A flat head cap screw (FHCS) is a fastener with a conical head that sits flush with the surface when installed, providing a smooth, streamlined finish. This is essential for RC vehicles because protruding fastener heads can cause aerodynamic drag, snag on components, or interfere with moving parts like suspension arms and wheels. The M2.5 x 4mm specification on these screws makes them ideal for securing body panels, electronic components, and other lighter assemblies on your RC car or truck.
  • Are these screws compatible with my Associated RC model? — Yes, these genuine Associated screws (part number AS31518) are designed specifically for Associated RC vehicles wherever M2.5 x 4mm flat head cap screws are specified. This includes RC cars, trucks, and buggies across the Associated range. Always check your model's instruction manual or parts diagram to confirm the correct fastener specification for your particular assembly point.
  • How often should I replace these screws on my RC vehicle? — The frequency depends on how heavily you use your RC model. Weekend bashers may need to check and replace fasteners every few outings, whilst competitive racers might inspect fasteners before every event. These screws in a pack of ten give you enough spares for multiple maintenance sessions and emergency replacements during track days or bashing sessions.
  • Why should I buy genuine Associated screws instead of generic alternatives? — Genuine Associated parts are manufactured to precise specifications that match your vehicle's original equipment, ensuring perfect fit, proper thread engagement, and reliable holding power. Generic substitutes may have slightly different dimensions, materials, or metallurgy that could lead to stripped threads, component damage, or fastener failure during use. For the cost difference involved, genuine parts offer superior reliability and peace of mind.
  • What is the difference between FHCS and other screw types? — FHCS (flat head cap screws) have a conical head that sits flush with the surface, unlike button head screws (which have a rounded head) or socket head screws (which have a taller cylindrical head). The flat head design is preferred in RC applications where a streamlined profile is important, and space under panels or covers is limited. The socket head design provides more torque application surface and is often used for larger, more heavy-duty fastening applications.
  • Is this pack suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. These screws are essential for anyone learning RC car maintenance and repair. Whether you're a seasoned competitor preparing for race season or someone just discovering the world of RC cars for the first time, having genuine Associated fasteners on hand helps you maintain your vehicle properly and build confidence in your maintenance skills.
  • Can I use these screws for other purposes beyond Associated RC vehicles? — Whilst these screws are specifically designed for Associated RC models, the M2.5 x 4mm FHCS specification is a standard size that may be compatible with other RC brands and applications. However, always verify specifications in your model's documentation before substituting fasteners, as incorrect sizing could lead to improper assembly or component damage.
