Technical Performance
Team Associated bearings represent quality engineering and precision manufacturing standards expected from one of the leading names in RC racing. The 10x19x5mm bearing size has become a standard across the RC hobby due to its optimal balance of load capacity, rotational efficiency, and durability. These metric-sized bearings are precision-manufactured to exacting tolerances, ensuring smooth, low-friction operation that directly impacts the performance characteristics of your RC model. Whether used in drivetrain components, suspension systems, wheel hubs, or other rotating assemblies, quality bearings like these reduce drag and improve power transfer efficiency. The bearing construction is engineered to handle the repeated high-speed rotation and side loads typical of RC racing and bashing activities. For UK RC car enthusiasts, maintaining bearing quality is crucial for competitive performance, and using genuine OEM parts rather than generic alternatives ensures consistent behaviour and longevity. Proper bearing maintenance is particularly important for brushless RC cars and high-performance models where component reliability directly affects lap times and overall handling characteristics.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What RC models use 10x19x5mm bearings? — The 10x19x5mm bearing size is widely used across RC applications. The Team Associated Rival MT8 is confirmed as compatible with these bearings. However, you should refer to your specific model's manual and check the dimensions of existing bearings in your RC car to confirm compatibility before ordering, as bearing sizes vary across different vehicle types and manufacturers.
- Why should I replace my RC car's bearings? — Bearings wear over time due to constant rotation and exposure to dirt, sand, and moisture. Worn bearings increase friction, reduce efficiency, slow acceleration, and can eventually seize or fail completely. Replacing worn or damaged bearings is essential routine maintenance that restores smooth operation, improves handling, and keeps your RC car performing at its best.
- Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are genuine OEM bearings supplied under the official Team Associated part number AS25940. Genuine parts ensure quality, precision engineering, and guaranteed compatibility, unlike generic aftermarket alternatives that may have inconsistent tolerances and shorter service life.
- How often should I replace my RC car's bearings? — Bearing replacement frequency depends on usage, operating conditions, and maintenance practices. Regular maintenance and cleaning after each session help extend bearing life. If you notice your RC car running slower, handling less smoothly, or feeling resistance during rotation, it's time to inspect and replace your bearings.
- Can I use generic bearings instead of Team Associated parts? — Whilst generic bearings might work initially, genuine Team Associated bearings are manufactured to exact OEM specifications and tolerances, ensuring optimal fit, performance, and reliability. Investing in genuine spares is particularly important if you're racing competitively or want maximum durability from your RC model.
- What tools do I need to replace bearings? — Bearing replacement typically requires basic RC maintenance tools such as hex drivers, bearing pullers (or improvised alternatives), and potentially a bearing press depending on your RC model's design. Refer to your model's manual for specific installation instructions and any special tools recommended.
