Technical Performance
The Voltz 5000mAh 14.8V (4S) 50C hard case LiPo battery represents a significant leap in battery technology for UK RC enthusiasts. With a total energy capacity of 74 watt-hours, this pack delivers sustained high-current output suitable for brushless motor systems running in demanding conditions. The 50C continuous discharge rating means the battery can safely deliver up to 250 amps of current (5000mAh × 50C), making it appropriate for high-performance brushless ESC systems rated for competitive speeds and acceleration. The hard case construction utilises rigid protective material around the lithium polymer cells, protecting them from impacts and abrasions that would typically damage soft-case packs, thereby extending the overall service life of your battery investment. The stick pack form factor—measuring just 139mm in length, 46mm in width, and 49mm in height—enables flexible mounting options across a broad spectrum of RC vehicle types, from compact 1/10-scale buggies to larger stadium trucks and crawlers. The XT90 connector provides a secure interface with low internal resistance, ensuring minimal voltage drop during high-current discharge phases and maximum efficiency transfer of power to your brushless motor. Engineering quality and safety have been paramount in this design, with the strain relief clip protecting the balance lead against mechanical stress that could result in connection failures or fire hazards.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Voltz 5000mAh 14.8V LiPo suitable for brushless RC cars and trucks? — Yes, this battery is specifically designed for brushless motor applications and is ideal for upgrading RTR (ready-to-run) models that are supplied without batteries. The 50C discharge rate and 74 watt-hour capacity make it well-suited for brushless ESC systems in RC cars, trucks, buggies, and other radio control vehicles available in the UK market.
- What does the 50C rating mean and why does it matter? — The 50C continuous discharge rating indicates the maximum safe current the battery can deliver on a sustained basis. For this 5000mAh pack, 50C means it can safely discharge 250 amps continuously (5000mAh × 50C ÷ 1000 = 250A), making it suitable for high-performance brushless systems that demand significant power for acceleration and speed.
- Will this battery fit my RC vehicle? — The low-profile stick pack format measures 139mm × 46mm × 49mm, making it compatible with a wide range of RC vehicle designs from 1/10-scale buggies and short-course trucks to larger platforms. However, you should verify that your specific vehicle has a battery compartment large enough to accommodate these dimensions.
- What is the XT90 connector and why is it better than other connectors? — The XT90 is a high-current connector specifically designed for high-discharge LiPo batteries. It provides a secure connection with low internal resistance, meaning less voltage drop during use and maximum efficiency transfer of power to your brushless motor compared to standard connectors.
- How long will this battery last per charge? — Runtime depends on your specific vehicle's motor, ESC settings, and driving style. The 5000mAh capacity provides substantial run time for most RC applications, but the exact duration varies based on your setup.
- Is this a hard case or soft case battery? — This is a hard case battery, featuring a rigid protective shell around the lithium polymer cells. This provides superior protection compared to soft-pack alternatives, allowing you to drive your RC car to its extremes whilst safeguarding the battery from impacts and damage.
- Can I use this battery with my ready-to-run RC model? — Yes, these batteries are described as a great upgrade to any RTR model and are ideal for brushless models supplied without batteries. Simply connect the XT90 connector to your vehicle's ESC, charge the battery, and you're ready to drive.
- What is the strain relief clip and why does it matter? — The strain relief clip is a protective feature designed to prevent mechanical stress on the delicate balance lead connector. This safeguards against connection failures and potential fire hazards caused by damaged balance cables, extending the safe service life of your battery.
