Technical Performance
The VOLTZ 5000mAh 14.8V 50C Hard Case LiPo represents a significant step forward in affordable, reliable RC power. With a 50C continuous discharge rating, this battery is engineered to supply up to 250 amps of current (5000mAh × 50C = 250A), making it suitable for brushless motor systems ranging from sensible racing setups to high-performance competition builds. The 74 watt-hour energy capacity means you're getting a substantial power reserve that translates to extended runtime in most RC applications, whether you're running a lightweight 1/10 scale stadium truck, a 1/8 scale buggy, or any other radio control vehicle that accepts a 4S LiPo configuration with an XT60 connector. The hard case construction uses premium materials that protect the individual lithium polymer cells from physical damage, thermal stress and the cumulative wear that comes from regular charging cycles, extended storage and intensive use on UK tracks and bash sites. The low profile stick pack format has been carefully designed to fit the battery compartments of modern RC chassis without modification, and the strain relief clip on the balance lead represents engineering attention to the details that separate quality batteries from bargain alternatives. Every VOLTZ LiPo battery undergoes quality testing to ensure consistent voltage delivery under load, minimal internal resistance, and reliable performance across dozens of charge cycles, making this an investment in reliability and peace of mind for your RC hobby.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What RC vehicles is the VOLTZ 5000mAh 14.8V 50C battery compatible with? — This battery is suitable for all radio control vehicles with a 4S LiPo battery bay that accommodates a hard case stick pack measuring 139 x 46 x 49mm and features an XT60 connector. This includes ready to run RC cars, brushless-powered buggies, trucks, stadium racers, and many other RC vehicle types available to UK hobbyists. If your vehicle originally came with a hard case stick pack battery or advertises 4S LiPo compatibility with XT60 connectors, this VOLTZ pack will work perfectly.
- Is the VOLTZ 5000mAh 14.8V 50C battery suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Whilst this battery offers impressive performance that will satisfy experienced racers and competitive drivers, it is equally suitable for beginners and recreational users. The hard case construction actually makes it safer and more forgiving for newer RC enthusiasts, as the protective shell reduces the risk of damage from accidental drops or impacts during learning. The XT60 connector provides foolproof connectivity, and the straightforward LiPo charging requirements (using any modern LiPo balance charger) are standard across the hobby.
- How long does this battery last on a single charge? — Runtime depends entirely on your RC vehicle's motor, ESC settings, driving style and terrain. A 5000mAh capacity provides substantial runtime for most applications; expect 15-25 minutes of continuous driving in typical conditions, though gentle club racing might extend this to 30+ minutes, whilst high-performance bashing or full throttle driving might reduce runtime to 10-15 minutes. Having multiple batteries for your RC hobby is standard practice among UK enthusiasts.
- What charger do I need for the VOLTZ 5000mAh 14.8V 50C battery? — This is a standard LiPo battery requiring a dedicated LiPo balance charger. Any charger supporting 4S LiPo charging with a JST-XH balance connector (compatible with the strain relief balance cable included) will work perfectly. Popular UK retailers stock LiPo chargers from brands like Turnigy, iMaxRC and Hitec at various price points, from budget entry-level models to advanced competition-grade chargers.
- What does the 50C discharge rating mean? — The 50C rating indicates the maximum continuous current this battery can safely deliver without damage. Specifically, 50C means 50 times the battery's capacity in amps; with 5000mAh capacity, this equals 250 amps maximum continuous discharge. This high rating ensures the battery can power demanding brushless motor systems without voltage sag, heat generation or cell stress, maintaining consistent power delivery even under heavy acceleration or aggressive driving.
- Is hard case better than soft case LiPo batteries? — Hard case LiPo batteries offer several advantages over soft case alternatives: superior physical protection from impacts and crushing, reduced risk of cell puncture or internal damage, improved longevity through better structural support, and confidence when bashing or racing hard without fear of battery failure. Soft case batteries are lighter and slightly more affordable, but hard case packs like this VOLTZ offering are the preferred choice for serious RC enthusiasts, club racers and anyone who drives intensively.
- How should I store and maintain my VOLTZ LiPo battery? — Store your VOLTZ battery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, preferably in a LiPo storage bag or fireproof container as a safety precaution. Before extended storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% capacity (around 3.85V per cell) and recharge every month to maintain cell health. Never store a depleted battery, as deep discharge can cause permanent damage. Always inspect the battery before use for any signs of swelling, damage, or leakage, and replace immediately if any damage is visible.
- Is the XT60 connector the right choice for my RC car? — The XT60 is one of the most widely used connectors in modern RC vehicles and is the industry standard for most brushless RC cars available in the UK. Before purchase, verify your vehicle uses XT60 connectors on the ESC or power distribution board. If your RC car uses Tamiya, Deans, or other connectors, you would need an adapter cable or a battery with the matching connector. XT60 connectors are reliable, secure and offer excellent power delivery with minimal resistance.
- What is the difference between this VOLTZ battery and budget alternatives? — The VOLTZ 5000mAh 14.8V 50C battery benefits from development and testing in conjunction with one of the world's leading battery manufacturers, ensuring consistent quality, reliable performance across charge cycles, and genuine 50C discharge capability. Budget alternatives often misrepresent their actual discharge ratings or use lower-quality cells that degrade quickly. The hard case construction, strain relief balance clip, and attention to detail in this VOLTZ pack justify the investment, delivering longer service life and more reliable performance than cut-price alternatives.
