Technical Performance
The SV1271SG+ represents the cutting edge of servo engineering, combining several critical technologies to deliver uncompromising performance. The coreless motor design is fundamental to this servo's superiority: by eliminating the traditional iron core, Savox achieves faster acceleration response, smoother operation across the entire control range, and significantly improved efficiency compared to brushed motor servos. This translates directly into better handling characteristics for your RC car UK models and more precise control authority for aircraft applications.
Build quality is exceptional throughout. The unique precision steel gears are manufactured to exacting tolerances and hardened to withstand the repeated stress cycles of competitive use, whether you're launching off jumps in 1/8 off-road racing or making fine trim adjustments during high-speed flying. The dual ball bearing construction (2BB configuration) ensures that these gears rotate with minimal friction and maximum smoothness, critical factors when you're asking a servo to make thousands of corrections per second during active pilot input.
The servo operates natively at both 6.0V and 7.4V, making it genuinely high voltage capable without compromise. At 6.0V, you'll get 20kg of torque and 0.11 seconds per 60 degrees of response time — already excellent performance. But when you step up to 7.4V with a 2S LiPo battery, the performance leap is dramatic: 25kg of torque (a 25% increase) and 0.08 seconds response time represent professional-grade servo performance. The servo draws 120mA at 6.0V and 150mA at 7.4V under no-load conditions, rising to 4000mA at 6.0V and 5000mA at 7.4V under stall conditions, ensuring your receiver battery or BEC can handle the load.
Physically compact at 40.3mm length, 20.2mm width, and 37.2mm height, weighing just 63 grams, the SV1271SG+ fits seamlessly into virtually any RC model without excessive weight penalty. The 200mm wire length provides flexibility in servo placement, whilst the 333Hz refresh rate and super high resolution ensure that even rapid control inputs are captured and executed with precision. The servo can handle an impressive 130 degrees of maximum travel (900 to 2100 microseconds), with the neutral position precisely set at 1500 microseconds, making setup straightforward and predictable.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What makes the SV1271SG+ suitable for large-scale RC aircraft and 1/8 off-road vehicles? — The combination of 25kg torque at 7.4V and 0.08 second response time makes this servo ideally suited to demanding applications. For large-scale aircraft, the high torque maintains control surface authority even in turbulent conditions, whilst the fast response ensures precise trim control. For 1/8 off-road vehicles, the speed enables quick steering corrections during aggressive driving, and the torque prevents servo slop under the intense forces generated by jumping and hard cornering.
- Is this servo compatible with my receiver and radio system? — The SV1271SG+ uses a standard JR-style servo connector and operates on conventional PWM signals (800-2200 microseconds range, 333Hz refresh). It's compatible with any quality RC receiver, and the plus-series designation specifically includes Sanwa SSR compatibility. If you're using professional radio systems common in UK RC racing and flying, this servo will integrate seamlessly.
- What battery does this servo need, and how do I power it correctly? — The SV1271SG+ is a high voltage servo designed specifically for 2S LiPo batteries (7.4V nominal). It will also work with NiMH receiver packs at 6.0V, but the performance advantage comes from operating at 7.4V where it achieves its full 25kg torque and fastest 0.08 second response time. Ensure your receiver battery or BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit) can supply at least 5A continuous current, as the servo can draw up to 5000mA under stall conditions.
- Will this servo work with my current radio system and equipment? — Almost certainly yes. The servo is compatible with any radio system that uses standard servo PWM signals, including Futaba, Spektrum, Sanwa, and other major brands used by UK RC enthusiasts. The new plus-series models specifically support Sanwa SSR compatibility, expanding your radio options further.
- How does the SV1271SG+ compare to standard voltage servos? — Compared to standard 6.0V only servos, the SV1271SG+ offers 25% more torque (25kg vs 20kg) and significantly faster response (0.08 vs 0.11 seconds) when powered by a 2S LiPo battery. This extra performance comes from dedicated high voltage circuitry rather than simply overpowering a standard servo, making it reliable and efficient rather than stressed and short-lived.
- Is the SV1271SG+ durable enough for competitive racing and heavy use? — Yes, durability is a core strength. The precision steel gears are hardened for longevity, dual ball bearings ensure smooth, long-lasting operation, and the coreless motor design is inherently more robust than brush-type motors. This servo is specified for professional applications including 1/8 off-road competition, where reliability is non-negotiable. Standard Savox warranty coverage provides additional peace of mind.
- Can I use aftermarket servo horns and accessories with this servo? — Absolutely. The 25-tooth spline output is a standard specification, meaning you can use any quality aftermarket servo horn featuring 25-tooth compatibility. This gives you flexibility to optimise your RC car UK setup or aircraft control linkages exactly as you need them.
