Overview

The RPM Rod Ends For Associated Blue (RPM73375) are premium suspension components designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand reliability and performance from their RC car setups. Whether you're running a competitive RC buggy, truggy, or off-road vehicle in the UK RC scene, these rod ends represent a significant upgrade over standard factory components. RPM has built a reputation for producing some of the most durable and precisely manufactured rod ends available, and these long shank variants are engineered specifically for Associated RC cars and compatible platforms that utilise 4-40 turnbuckle threads and 4.3mm ball studs.

If you've experienced the frustration of breaking or popping stock rod ends during a race or weekend bashing session, RPM rod ends are the proven solution that countless RC enthusiasts across the UK have switched to. These components are moulded from RPM's proprietary blend of tough, durable nylons that withstand the demands of high-performance RC driving far better than cheaper alternatives. The long shank design allows for steeper suspension angles without binding, making them ideal for advanced setups where maximum suspension travel and articulation are critical. With twelve rod ends included in this package, you'll have enough to refresh your entire suspension system or keep spares on hand for racing and bashing.

RPM rod ends have become the basis for comparison in the RC industry because they combine exceptional durability with precision engineering that maintains close tolerances over the ball stud. These blue-coloured components are specifically compatible with Associated RC vehicles and will transform the handling characteristics and reliability of your RC car. Whether you're competing in regional RC races or simply enjoying weekend bashers with friends, upgrading to RPM rod ends is one of the most cost-effective suspension improvements you can make to your setup.

Key Features

  • Pack of Twelve Rod Ends — This package includes twelve complete rod ends, providing enough components to equip both front and rear suspension arms on most RC cars with spares left over for maintenance or emergency replacements on the track or at the bash spot.
  • Long Shank Design — The extended shank length compared to standard rod ends allows for steeper suspension angles without the ball binding at the socket, enabling more aggressive suspension geometry and improved articulation for better performance on challenging terrain.
  • 4.3mm Ball Stud Compatible — These rod ends are precisely designed to work with .169 inch (4.3mm) ball studs, ensuring perfect fit and minimal play in your suspension linkages for maximum responsiveness and control.
  • 4-40 Turnbuckle Thread Compatibility — The 4-40 (3mm) threaded design allows seamless integration with most Associated RC turnbuckles and suspension components, making these rod ends a direct replacement for Losi #A-6005 components.
  • Proprietary Tough Nylon Blend — RPM manufactures these rod ends from their exclusive blend of durable nylons that resist cracking, popping, and breaking under the extreme stresses of competitive RC driving and aggressive bashing.
  • Precision Moulded Tolerances — Every rod end is moulded to the strictest tolerances, ensuring consistent performance across all twelve pieces and maintaining close tolerances over the ball stud for reliable suspension action.
  • Oversized Hex Design — These rod ends feature the same oversized hex geometry as RPM's 4-40 standard length rod ends, providing excellent grip for spanners during installation and adjustment without risk of stripping.
  • Recess at Ball Socket — A small recess at the top of the ball socket allows even steeper suspension angles without any binding or interference, maximising your setup flexibility for different racing conditions and driving styles.
  • Blue Colour Finish — The blue colour-coded design helps you quickly identify these components during maintenance and makes them easily distinguishable from other suspension parts in your pit box.

Technical Performance

RPM rod ends represent the pinnacle of suspension component engineering for RC cars, and these long shank variants have been specifically designed to address the limitations of stock factory components. The materials science behind RPM's proprietary nylon blend provides exceptional resistance to the shear stresses that cause standard rod ends to pop or crack, particularly under high-speed cornering, jumping, and aggressive driving conditions common in UK RC racing. Each rod end in this twelve-piece package maintains identical tolerances and ball stud engagement, ensuring uniform suspension response across your entire vehicle. The engineering team at RPM has incorporated a small recess at the top of the ball socket, a seemingly small detail that makes a significant practical difference when setting up extreme suspension angles. This feature eliminates binding and allows you to run steeper camber and suspension geometry changes that would be impossible with standard rod ends. The long shank design extends the usable range of your turnbuckle adjustments, providing finer control over ride height, anti-roll bar stiffness, and suspension geometry tuning. These rod ends are engineered specifically for 4.3mm ball studs and 4-40 turnbuckle threads, ensuring perfect mechanical compatibility with Associated RC vehicles and most other quality RC platforms that use these industry-standard specifications. The oversized hex provides excellent leverage during installation and adjustment, reducing the risk of tool slip or stripped threads that can occur with smaller hex profiles. RPM's commitment to precision moulding means that every single rod end in your package will perform identically, eliminating the inconsistencies that can plague cheaper alternatives and affect your car's handling balance and predictability.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are RPM rod ends suitable for RC cars in the UK? — Yes, these RPM rod ends are designed specifically for Associated RC vehicles and are fully compatible with most quality RC buggies, truggies, and off-road cars that use 4.3mm ball studs and 4-40 turnbuckle threads. They're an excellent choice whether you're racing competitively or bashing casually across the UK.
  • What vehicles do these rod ends fit? — These rod ends are designed for most Losi, Associated, and HPI RC cars that utilise 4.3mm ball studs and 4-40 threaded turnbuckles. They directly replace Losi #A-6005 components and are compatible with a wide range of quality RC platforms used throughout the UK RC community.
  • Why choose RPM rod ends over standard factory components? — RPM rod ends are moulded from a proprietary blend of tough, durable nylons that significantly outlast stock components under racing and bashing conditions. They maintain closer tolerances, feature an oversized hex for easier adjustment, include a recess to prevent binding at steep angles, and are engineered to the strictest manufacturing standards. If you've experienced broken or popping rod ends, upgrading to RPM is a proven solution.
  • How many rod ends do I need? — This package includes twelve rod ends, which is enough to equip both front and rear suspension arms on most RC cars with several spares for replacements or maintenance. Having extra rod ends on hand is always recommended for race day or bashing trips.
  • Will these work with my RC car's turnbuckles? — These rod ends are designed for 4-40 (3mm) turnbuckle threads and .169 inch (4.3mm) ball studs. If your RC car uses these standard specifications, they will integrate seamlessly. However, they will not work with 4.8mm balls, so verify your car's ball stud size before ordering.
  • What makes the long shank design better? — The extended length allows for steeper suspension angles without the ball binding at the socket, improving articulation and giving you more flexibility in suspension geometry tuning. This is particularly valuable for advanced setups and competitive racing where suspension angle optimisation is critical.
  • Are these rod ends easy to install? — Yes, these rod ends thread directly onto 4-40 turnbuckles with standard tools. The oversized hex design makes them easy to grip and adjust without risk of tool slip, and installation takes just minutes per rod end.
