Overview
The RPM Front A-Arms Black for Associated MT8 represent a significant upgrade over stock suspension components for one of the most popular 1/8-scale RC buggies in the UK RC car market. Designed specifically for the Associated Rival MT8, these front a-arms deliver enhanced durability and strength that will transform your RC buggy's performance both on track and in rough terrain. Whether you're a weekend basher pushing your RC monster truck replica to its limits or a competitive racer seeking the reliability edge that upgraded suspension components provide, these RPM a-arms offer the perfect balance of engineering excellence and practical improvement over factory-standard parts.
RPM has engineered these a-arms using advanced materials science and stress analysis to create a suspension component that simply outperforms the original. This isn't just a cosmetic upgrade—every aspect of the design has been optimised for maximum strength and durability. Available in striking black and finished with engineering-grade nylon, the RPM front a-arms represent the kind of quality upgrade that serious RC enthusiasts in the UK and beyond have come to expect from RPM's suspension products. For anyone running an Associated MT8, upgrading to these front a-arms is one of the smartest investments you can make in your RC car's longevity and performance.
These a-arms replace the stock Associated part number AS25911 and come as a complete pair, meaning you get both left and right front suspension arms in one purchase. Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC knowledge, and the improvement in durability will be immediately noticeable during aggressive driving sessions.
Key Features
- Reinforced Inner Hinge Pin Areas — RPM increased the amount of material surrounding the inner hinge pins by 7%, which strengthens the critical pivot points where most suspension stress concentrates during aggressive driving and jumping, dramatically reducing the risk of stress fractures.
- Dramatically Thickened Inner Pin Width — By increasing the width of the thicker diameter surrounding inner hinge pins by nearly 40%, RPM has created a much more robust support structure that distributes load more effectively across the suspension arm.
- Enhanced Outer Hinge Pin Strength — The material at the outer hinge pins receives 28% more reinforcement, with an additional 9% increase in width at that critical contact point, making the outer suspension pivot significantly tougher than stock equivalents.
- Full-Length Consistent Thickness — Unlike stock a-arms which taper down and lose nearly 30% of their thickness at the outer hinge pins, RPM a-arms maintain a full 1/2 inch (12.7mm) thickness over nearly their entire length, providing superior strength throughout the entire component.
- Optimised Taper Design — RPM only tapers the inner hinge pins slightly to 0.45 inches (11.43mm) at their narrowest point to match the maximum allowable size of the inner hinge pin bosses, preserving maximum strength while maintaining compatibility with your Associated MT8.
- Quad Support Beam Architecture — To compensate for the slight taper at the inner pins, RPM engineered four massive support beams instead of the stock two-beam design, making these a-arms the toughest alternative to stock available and significantly improving rigidity.
- Engineering Grade Nylon Construction — Moulded from RPM's nearly indestructible blend of engineering-grade nylons, these a-arms deliver the performance and durability you can trust during intense RC car sessions.
- Sold in Pairs — This purchase includes both the left and right front a-arms you need to complete the front suspension upgrade on your Associated Rival MT8.
- Direct Stock Replacement — These a-arms replace the front a-arms from stock Associated part number AS25911, making installation straightforward and ensuring perfect fitment on your RC buggy.
Technical Performance
The RPM Front A-Arms represent a masterclass in RC suspension engineering, addressing every weakness in the original Associated MT8 design. The engineering-grade nylon material selection is crucial—this isn't basic plastic, but a carefully formulated compound engineered to withstand the demanding forces of modern RC buggy racing and bashing. The dramatic increase in material at both the inner and outer hinge pin areas means these a-arms can absorb impacts and cornering loads that would crack or flex stock components. The full 1/2-inch (12.7mm) thickness maintained across nearly the entire length of each arm prevents the progressive flex and failure that stock a-arms suffer from, which causes handling inconsistency and eventual breakage. The quad-beam support architecture is particularly clever—by using four support beams instead of two, RPM has created a structure with superior rigidity that resists twisting and bending during hard acceleration, braking, and directional changes. For serious RC car enthusiasts in the UK pushing their Associated MT8 to the limit with high-speed runs through jumps, whoops, and aggressive cornering, these a-arms deliver the reliability upgrade that transforms your RC buggy from a weekend toy into a dependable performer. The black moulded finish is not just aesthetically pleasing but also indicates the high-quality manufacturing standards RPM applies to every component they produce.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these RPM front a-arms a direct replacement for my Associated MT8? — Yes, these a-arms are designed to replace the front a-arms from stock Associated part number AS25911, making them a direct bolt-in replacement for your Associated Rival MT8 without any modification required.
- What makes RPM a-arms more durable than stock Associated parts? — RPM has significantly reinforced every critical stress point: 7% more material around inner hinge pins with nearly 40% wider diameter, 28% more material at outer hinge pins with 9% additional width, and most importantly, full 1/2-inch (12.7mm) thickness maintained across nearly the entire length instead of tapering down. The quad-beam support structure (versus stock's two beams) makes them the toughest alternative available.
- Will these a-arms improve my RC buggy's performance? — These a-arms directly improve durability and reliability rather than raw speed, but by eliminating the flex and flex-related failures of stock arms, you'll experience more consistent handling, better predictability in cornering, and significantly fewer breakages during aggressive driving sessions.
- Are these suitable for beginners learning to drive their Associated MT8? — Absolutely. Whilst beginners might not push a stock a-arm to failure immediately, upgrading to RPM a-arms is a smart early investment that eliminates one of the most common failure points on the MT8, reducing repair costs and downtime as you develop your RC driving skills.
- What material are these a-arms made from? — These a-arms are moulded from engineering-grade nylon, a high-performance polymer specifically chosen for its strength, flexibility, and impact resistance in demanding RC applications.
- Do these come as a pair or do I need to buy two? — These are sold as a complete pair including both left and right front a-arms, so one purchase covers your entire front suspension upgrade.
- What is the difference between RPM a-arms and stock Associated MT8 a-arms? — Stock a-arms taper significantly and lose nearly 30% thickness at the outer hinge pins, creating a stress concentration point that leads to flex and eventual failure. RPM a-arms maintain consistent 1/2-inch (12.7mm) thickness across nearly their entire length, feature dramatically reinforced hinge pin areas (7% more material at inner pins with 40% wider diameter, 28% more at outer pins with 9% additional width), and utilise four massive support beams instead of two, making them substantially tougher and more reliable.
