Overview

The Spektrum Aircraft Telemetry Flight Pack Voltage Sensor (model P-SPMA9570) is an essential telemetry accessory designed for RC aircraft enthusiasts in the UK who demand precise power system monitoring during flight. This advanced 3-pin voltage sensor provides real-time data on your flight pack battery performance, allowing you to track energy consumption, current draw, and battery temperature directly through your Spektrum telemetry-capable transmitter. Whether you fly electric-powered aircraft or gas engine-powered models with ignition batteries, this compact sensor gives you complete visibility into your power system's health and performance, ensuring you can confidently manage your flights and extend the lifespan of your expensive LiPo batteries.

For serious RC aircraft fliers across the UK, having accurate battery telemetry is no longer a luxury—it's a necessity. The Spektrum Telemetry Flight Pack Voltage Sensor monitors crucial data including capacity used (measured in mAh), real-time current draw, and battery temperature whilst you're in the air. This information is transmitted wirelessly to your transmitter, allowing you to make informed decisions about battery management and flight time without guesswork. The sensor's lightweight design and straightforward installation mean you can add professional-grade monitoring to any electric RC aircraft without significant modification or complex setup procedures.

This telemetry sensor represents Spektrum's commitment to providing RC modellers with the tools needed to fly safely and efficiently. Its compact dimensions and efficient design make it suitable for virtually unlimited applications in the RC aircraft world, from trainers and sport flyers to high-performance electric aircraft and gas-powered models.

Key Features

  • 3-pin Telemetry Voltage Sensor — This dedicated voltage monitoring sensor provides precise battery voltage measurement transmitted directly to your Spektrum telemetry receiver and transmitter, giving you real-time awareness of your flight pack's electrical state throughout every flight.
  • 20-inch External Sensor Cable — The generous 20-inch external sensor lead allows flexible placement of the voltage monitoring probe away from the main sensor body, enabling optimal sensor positioning for accurate readings without compromising airframe design or weight distribution.
  • Measures Capacity Used (mAh) — Track exactly how many milliamp-hours your flight pack has delivered during each sortie, helping you understand your aircraft's power consumption characteristics and plan optimal flight times with precision.
  • Current and Temperature Monitoring — Beyond voltage, this sensor monitors real-time current draw and battery temperature, providing comprehensive power system diagnostics that help identify potential issues before they become dangerous mid-flight failures.
  • Lightweight Compact Design — Weighing just 0.85 oz (24g) with dimensions of only 1.3 inches long, 0.9 inches wide, and 0.6 inches tall, this sensor adds virtually no weight penalty to your aircraft whilst delivering professional-grade telemetry functionality.
  • EC3 Battery Connectors — Pre-wired with standard EC3 connectors that plug directly between your flight pack battery and ESC or telemetry module, requiring absolutely no soldering, crimping, or complicated configuration for installation.
  • No Calibration Required — The sensor arrives ready to use with no calibration or programming of the unit itself needed; simply connect it and configure the telemetry settings in your Spektrum transmitter's menu system.
  • High Current Capability — With a maximum burst current rating of 140A (using appropriate connectors and wire gauge) and maximum continuous current of 60A, this sensor handles the power requirements of modern electric RC aircraft, from small trainers to large aerobatic models.
  • Wireless Telemetry Integration — Requires a Spektrum telemetry-capable receiver and transmitter; once paired, all sensor data streams wirelessly to your transmitter display, eliminating the need for wired connections to the flight pack.
  • Electric and Gas Aircraft Compatible — Works with electric-powered aircraft using flight pack batteries or gas engine-powered aircraft using ignition system batteries, making this a versatile choice for any power system type.

Technical Performance

The Spektrum Aircraft Telemetry Flight Pack Voltage Sensor represents sophisticated engineering optimised for the demanding requirements of RC aircraft telemetry. This sensor operates across an impressive input voltage range of 3.5 to 50 volts, accommodating everything from small 2-cell LiPo packs to large multi-cell battery configurations used in advanced electric aircraft. The 13 AWG wire gauge provides appropriate current-carrying capacity whilst maintaining flexibility for routing through tight airframe spaces. The sensor's maximum burst current rating of 140A (with suitably rated EC3 connectors and cabling) and maximum continuous current rating of 60A means it handles the power demands of modern brushless motor systems without voltage sag or signal degradation. For applications exceeding the 60A continuous current threshold, Spektrum recommends upgrading to EC5 connectors to maintain optimal performance and safety margins. The engineering behind this sensor prioritises reliability and data accuracy; the compact form factor and lightweight construction make it suitable for installation in virtually any RC aircraft configuration without requiring significant modification. The temperature monitoring capability adds a crucial safety dimension, alerting you to overheating battery packs before they fail catastrophically in flight. All telemetry data transmits wirelessly to your Spektrum transmitter display, providing real-time feedback on capacity used, current draw, and temperature status throughout your flight.
