Technical Performance
The Fastrax 1/8 X 1/4 X .1094 Bearing is engineered to precision standards that RC racers expect from competition-grade components. Steering bearings are fundamental to responsive vehicle handling, and this component is specifically designed to minimise friction and play in the steering linkage, directly contributing to improved steering feedback and control authority during cornering and directional changes. The bearing's tight tolerances ensure that when you input steering commands through your RC transmitter, those inputs translate directly into vehicle response without lag or excessive play. This is particularly important for competitive racing applications where every millisecond and every degree of steering input can mean the difference between winning and losing on the track. The bearing's durable construction is designed to withstand the repeated steering cycles that occur during intensive RC driving sessions, whether you're running on-road circuits, carpet tracks, or bashing outdoors. Fastrax has built a reputation in the RC hobby for producing parts that offer genuine performance benefits without premium pricing, and this bearing exemplifies that philosophy. Whether you're replacing a worn bearing on your existing TC3 or B4.2 platform or building a fresh steering assembly for a new project, this component will provide reliable, consistent performance that meets the demands of UK RC racing standards.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which RC cars is this bearing compatible with? — This Fastrax bearing is specifically designed for steering systems on Team Associated TC3 and Team Losi B4.2 chassis platforms, two of the most popular competition-grade 1/10 scale off-road buggies available in the UK RC market. If you operate either of these models, this bearing will integrate directly into your steering assembly.
- Why would I need to replace my steering bearing? — Like all mechanical components, RC bearings experience wear over time as they rotate during steering inputs. Over extended use, bearings can develop play, which reduces steering precision and makes your RC car feel less responsive. Replacing worn bearings with fresh components like this Fastrax bearing restores steering accuracy and handling characteristics, which is especially important if you're competing or seeking consistent performance.
- Is this a genuine Fastrax part? — Yes, RC Model Shop stocks genuine Fastrax products supplied through authorised distribution channels. You can purchase with confidence knowing you're receiving an authentic component that meets Fastrax's quality standards and will perform as engineered.
- How difficult is it to install this bearing? — Bearing replacement is a straightforward maintenance task that most RC enthusiasts can perform themselves with basic tools. You'll need to access your steering assembly and carefully remove the old bearing, then press or slide the new bearing into place. Detailed guidance is available in your chassis manual, and the RC Model Shop team can provide advice if needed.
- How often should I replace my steering bearings? — Replacement frequency depends on how intensively you use your RC car. Racing competitors might replace bearings every few months or every season, whilst weekend bashers may only need replacements annually or less frequently. Replace your bearings whenever you notice increased steering play or reduced responsiveness compared to when your setup was new.
- Can I use this bearing on other RC cars? — This bearing is specifically engineered for TC3 and B4.2 steering systems. Whilst you should always verify compatibility before installation, it is not guaranteed to fit other chassis platforms without modification. Check your vehicle's manual or contact us at RC Model Shop for advice if you're unsure about compatibility.
