FMS Hobby is recognised globally for producing high-quality RC aircraft and components that combine authentic design with reliable engineering. This propeller is manufactured to the same exacting standards as the aircraft itself, ensuring compatibility and performance that won't let you down. For RC enthusiasts across the United Kingdom looking for genuine FMS parts and accessories, this propeller offers excellent value and the peace of mind that comes with using original manufacturer components.
Key Features
- 11 x 6 Propeller Specification — The 11-inch diameter and 6-inch pitch dimensions are specifically engineered for the FMS 1400mm Sky Trainer 182 aircraft, ensuring optimal thrust and efficiency during flight operations. This precise sizing means the propeller is perfectly balanced for the aircraft's motor and airframe characteristics.
- Three-Blade Design — The three-blade configuration provides superior performance compared to two-blade alternatives, delivering smoother thrust delivery, reduced vibration, and improved overall flight stability. This design is particularly effective for training aircraft where predictable handling characteristics are essential.
- FMS Genuine Component — Manufactured by FMS Hobby to original specification standards, this propeller guarantees compatibility with your Sky Trainer 182 and delivers the performance characteristics the aircraft was designed to achieve. Using genuine parts ensures your aircraft performs as intended by the manufacturer.
- Replacement and Spare Part — Propellers are consumable items that require regular replacement due to impacts, wear, and flight fatigue. Having spare propellers ensures you can continue flying without unnecessary downtime, making this an essential addition to any RC pilot's spare parts collection.
- Reliable Performance — The FMS 11 x 6 propeller is engineered for consistent, reliable performance across a range of flying conditions. This reliability is critical for RC aircraft operations where equipment failure can result in loss of your aircraft and potential safety hazards.
Technical Performance
The FMS 11 x 6 3-Blade Propeller represents precision engineering optimised for the 1400mm Sky Trainer 182 airframe. The three-blade configuration is specifically chosen for training and recreational RC aircraft because it provides superior thrust characteristics and smoother power delivery compared to two-blade designs. The 11-inch diameter combined with the 6-inch pitch creates an ideal balance between thrust and efficiency, ensuring that the propeller complements the aircraft's motor system without creating excessive drag or inefficiency. The propeller's design minimises vibration during operation, which is particularly important for RC aircraft where vibration can affect control response and overall flight stability. The engineering principles behind this propeller design reflect FMS Hobby's commitment to quality, with careful attention paid to blade balance, material selection, and manufacturing tolerances. For RC enthusiasts operating across the United Kingdom, this propeller delivers the performance consistency you need for safe, predictable flight operations. The three-blade design also provides redundancy—if one blade is damaged, you still have two functioning blades for controlled descent and landing, whereas a two-blade propeller would be completely disabled. This safety characteristic makes three-blade propellers the preferred choice for training aircraft and recreational flying where aircraft recovery and safety are paramount.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this propeller compatible with my FMS Sky Trainer 182 RC aircraft? — Yes, this propeller is specifically designed for the FMS 1400mm Sky Trainer 182 aircraft. The 11 x 6 specification is optimised for this airframe and motor combination, ensuring perfect compatibility and performance. If you operate a Sky Trainer 182, this is the correct propeller for your aircraft.
- Why do I need spare propellers for my RC aeroplane? — Propellers are consumable items that inevitably sustain damage from impacts during landing, rough handling, or flight accidents. Having spare propellers ensures you can quickly replace a damaged prop and continue flying without being grounded for days while waiting for replacement parts to arrive. Most RC pilots maintain multiple spare propellers in their flying kit for this reason.
- What is the difference between a three-blade and two-blade propeller? — Three-blade propellers deliver smoother, more consistent thrust and produce less vibration than two-blade designs. They are preferred for training aircraft and recreational flying because they provide superior control response and stability characteristics. Two-blade propellers are generally used on high-speed or aerobatic aircraft where maximum efficiency is desired, but the three-blade design is ideal for the Sky Trainer 182's intended use as a stable, predictable training and recreational aircraft.
- How often should I replace my propeller? — You should visually inspect your propeller before each flying session and replace it immediately if you notice any cracks, chips, warping, or other damage. Even minor damage can affect flight performance and safety. Additionally, propellers can develop stress fractures internally that aren't visible externally, so it's wise to replace your propeller periodically even if it appears undamaged. Many pilots replace propellers every 10-15 flight hours or more frequently depending on flying conditions and landing technique.
- Can I use propellers from other manufacturers? — Whilst propellers of the same size might physically fit, they may not deliver the same performance characteristics or reliability as genuine FMS components. Using genuine FMS propellers ensures your aircraft performs exactly as the manufacturer intended and maintains compatibility with your aircraft's specifications. For safety and performance reasons, we recommend using genuine manufacturer parts.
- Is this propeller suitable for beginners? — Yes, the FMS 11 x 6 3-Blade Propeller is ideal for beginners. The Sky Trainer 182 aircraft is specifically designed as a training platform, and this propeller is engineered to deliver the stable, predictable flight characteristics that new pilots need whilst learning. The three-blade design provides smooth, manageable thrust response that makes the aircraft easier to control.
