Overview

Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Oil 60Wt is a professional-grade differential and shock oil designed for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand consistency and performance. Whether you're running a competition-level RC buggy, an off-road truck, or a weekend basher, this 60-weight silicone oil provides the precise tuning capability you need to optimise your vehicle's handling characteristics. Fastrax has developed this new range of oils over the last 12 months through rigorous testing with some of Europe's leading drivers, ensuring that every bottle meets the highest standards for reliability and performance.

This silicone oil has been tested extensively in conditions ranging from the heat of Spain to the rain of the UK, guaranteeing consistent performance regardless of the weather or track conditions you encounter. The drivers involved in the development process consistently reported that they have never encountered oils offering as much consistency and progression through the range as these new Fastrax oils. The vast array of viscosity options available means you can fine-tune your RC car setup for any condition, whether you're competing at a national event or enjoying a casual session at your local RC track.

The 60Wt specification makes this oil ideal for drivers seeking a medium viscosity option that balances responsiveness with stability. With an easy-pour lid design, changing your differential or shock oil is no longer a tedious chore but rather a straightforward task that takes moments. If you're serious about getting your RC car into the winners' circle, Fastrax oils are the choice trusted by competitive drivers across Europe.

Key Features

  • Pure Silicone Formulation — This oil is manufactured from pure silicone, ensuring consistent viscosity performance across a wide temperature range and eliminating impurities that could affect your RC car's differential or shock response.
  • 60-Weight Viscosity — The 60Wt specification offers a medium viscosity level that provides balanced performance for most RC applications, delivering responsive handling without sacrificing stability through corners and over obstacles.
  • 750 cSt Specification — With a precise 750 centistokes rating, this oil delivers consistent flow characteristics that allow predictable damping in both shock absorbers and differentials, critical for competitive RC racing in the UK.
  • Professional-Grade Development — Extensively tested by leading European RC drivers in diverse conditions, from Spanish heat to British rain, this oil has proven its reliability in real-world competition scenarios.
  • Comprehensive Range Options — Fastrax offers this oil across multiple viscosity weights, allowing you to select the perfect oil for your specific track conditions, weather, and driving style.
  • Easy-Pour Lid Design — The convenient pour lid eliminates mess and frustration when changing your shock or differential oil, making maintenance quick and straightforward rather than time-consuming.
  • Consistent Performance Progression — Users report that the Fastrax oil range offers unmatched consistency and progressive performance differences between weight options, making it simple to dial in your RC car's setup.
  • Wide Temperature Compatibility — The silicone formulation maintains stable viscosity across temperature variations, ensuring your RC car performs consistently whether you're racing on a hot summer's day or in cool autumn conditions.

Technical Performance

The Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Oil 60Wt delivers professional-level performance characteristics through its pure silicone construction and precisely engineered 750 cSt viscosity rating. This medium-weight oil is specifically formulated to provide optimal damping characteristics for RC differentials and shock absorbers in competitive and recreational applications. The 60-weight specification sits in the middle of the viscosity spectrum, making it an excellent choice for drivers who want responsive handling without excessive shock stiffness. The oil's composition has been validated through extensive real-world testing conducted by experienced European RC racing drivers, ensuring that it performs reliably in both high-temperature and wet conditions. Unlike oils that may break down or change viscosity significantly with temperature fluctuations, this pure silicone formulation maintains consistent performance throughout your RC session, whether you're running at a local track meet or competing in a championship event. The development process involved testing in contrasting climates—from the intense heat of Spanish tracks to the challenging wet conditions typical of UK RC racing venues—ensuring that this oil delivers predictable performance regardless of your local environment. For competitive RC enthusiasts in the UK who understand the importance of setup tuning and want reliable, consistent oil performance, the 60Wt option provides an excellent balance between cost-effectiveness and performance quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is 60Wt silicone oil used for in RC cars? — Silicone oil of 60-weight viscosity is primarily used as shock absorber fluid and differential oil in RC cars. It provides the damping effect that controls how quickly your suspension compresses and rebounds, directly affecting your car's handling, cornering grip, and bump absorption. The 60Wt specification is considered a medium viscosity, making it suitable for general-purpose RC racing and bashing applications across a wide range of conditions.
  • What does 750 cSt mean? — The 750 centistokes (cSt) measurement indicates the precise viscosity or thickness of the oil. Centistokes is a standard unit of measurement for fluid viscosity used in the RC hobby and industrial applications. This specific rating ensures that the Fastrax 60Wt oil flows at a consistent rate, which is essential for predictable shock and differential performance. Different weight oils have different cSt ratings, allowing drivers to select the perfect oil for their track conditions and driving style.
  • How do I know which weight oil to use in my RC car? — The weight of oil you choose depends on several factors including your track surface (carpet, dirt, asphalt), weather conditions, your driving style, and the specific recommendations from your RC car manufacturer. Lighter oils (lower weights like 30Wt or 40Wt) provide faster, more responsive suspension movement, whilst heavier oils (higher weights like 70Wt or 80Wt) offer increased damping and stability. The 60Wt option is a popular middle-ground choice that works well for most RC applications. Fastrax's extensive range allows you to experiment and find the perfect setup for your vehicle.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Whilst the Fastrax oil range is used by competitive European drivers, the 60Wt specification is an excellent choice for beginners and casual RC enthusiasts. It provides reliable, consistent performance without requiring advanced tuning knowledge. Simply pour the oil into your shock absorbers and differentials according to your vehicle's manual, and you'll experience improved handling and suspension performance immediately. The easy-pour lid design makes the application process straightforward and mess-free.
  • What makes Fastrax oils different from other brands? — Fastrax oils have been developed through extensive real-world testing by leading European RC racing drivers over 12 months. This development process involved testing in dramatically different climate conditions, from Spanish heat to UK rain, ensuring consistency across diverse scenarios. Users report that the Fastrax range offers unmatched consistency and smooth progression between weight options. The pure silicone formulation and convenient pour lid design are additional benefits that set Fastrax oils apart from generic alternatives.
  • Can I use this oil in both shocks and differentials? — Yes. Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Oil 60Wt is designed for use in both shock absorbers and differentials. Many RC car owners use the same weight oil in both components, though some advanced competitors may experiment with different weights to fine-tune specific aspects of their vehicle's handling. For most drivers, using consistent 60Wt oil throughout your RC car will deliver reliable performance.
  • How long does one bottle last? — The quantity of oil required depends on your RC car model and how many shock absorbers and differentials it contains. Most RC cars require between 10-30ml of oil per shock and similar amounts for differentials, meaning one bottle should be sufficient for several oil changes or multiple vehicles. For specific quantity information, consult your vehicle's assembly manual.
