- Easy-Pour Lid Design — The convenient easy-pour lid makes changing oil simple and mess-free, transforming what used to be a tedious maintenance chore into a quick task that takes moments rather than hours.
- 20-Weight Specification — This medium-weight formulation provides excellent all-round performance, making it suitable for most standard racing applications and recreational use in UK conditions.
Technical Performance
The Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Oil 20Wt delivers a viscosity of 200 cSt (centistokes), a measurement that defines how the oil flows and performs in your RC car's suspension and differential systems. At 20 weight, this oil strikes the perfect balance between protecting critical components and maintaining responsive handling characteristics that competitive racers demand. The pure silicone construction ensures stable performance across temperature ranges, preventing viscosity breakdown in heat and maintaining flow in cooler conditions typical of UK racing venues. This technical specification translates to more consistent lap times, predictable handling changes as you dial in your setup, and extended component lifespan through proper lubrication of shock shafts, differential gears, and suspension bushings. Whether you're running an RC buggy, RC monster truck, or short course truck, proper shock oil and differential oil selection is critical to achieving the precision engineering required for competitive racing.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between 20Wt and other weight silicone oils for RC cars? — The weight rating indicates the viscosity or thickness of the oil. The 20Wt variant is a medium-weight option suitable for most standard racing applications and UK conditions. Lighter weights (like 10Wt or 15Wt) are thinner and better for colder temperatures or when you want quicker suspension response, whilst heavier weights provide more damping resistance in heat or for cars that need more stability. The Fastrax range offers multiple weights so you can select the perfect option for your specific conditions and driving style.
- Which RC car types use shock oil and differential oil? — Virtually all performance-oriented RC cars use specialist shock oils and differential oils, including RC buggies, RC monster trucks, RC truggy trucks, RC short course trucks, and many other competition-grade vehicles. Whether you're racing 1/10, 1/8, or 1/7 scale, proper lubrication of these critical components is essential for reliable operation and competitive performance.
- How often should I change my RC shock oil? — This depends on how frequently you race and the conditions you run in. For serious competitors in the UK, changing oil regularly ensures consistent performance and prevents breakdown of the silicone under repeated use. Casual racers might change oil seasonally or when performance begins to vary, whilst competitive drivers often change between each meeting to maintain optimal suspension characteristics.
- Is Fastrax oil suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Whilst Fastrax oils are developed by professional European drivers, they are suitable for RC enthusiasts at all levels. The easy-pour lid design makes maintenance straightforward, and the consistency of the formula means even inexperienced builders will notice improved performance and handling response.
- What makes Fastrax oils different from cheaper alternatives? — Fastrax oils are the result of 12 months of rigorous testing by professional drivers in real-world conditions ranging from Spanish heat to British rain. This development process ensures unmatched consistency and progression through the range, with drivers reporting they've never encountered oils offering such reliability and tuning precision. The quality and consistency you get with Fastrax translates directly to more predictable handling and better lap times.
- Can I mix different weight Fastrax oils? — Whilst it's technically possible, mixing oils is not recommended as it will produce an intermediate viscosity that may not perform as intended. The Fastrax range is engineered so you select the weight that matches your conditions and driving style for optimal results.
