Overview

The Fastrax 'Flexi Tuff Stuff' Plastic & Lexan Repair is an essential maintenance product for RC enthusiasts across the UK who need to keep their RC cars, buggies, crawlers and trucks in peak condition. Whether you're a competitive racer, a weekend basher, or simply enjoy running your RC vehicles on the track or off-road, bodyshell damage is an inevitable part of the hobby. This 100ml bottle of specialist repair adhesive is specifically formulated to bond plastic and Lexan components, making it the go-to solution for fixing cracked bodywork, repairing lexan shells, and reinforcing weak joints that naturally occur through regular use and crashes.

RC car bodies take a beating during normal operation, especially when you're pushing your vehicle to its limits at high speed or tackling challenging terrain. The Fastrax 'Flexi Tuff Stuff' addresses this common problem with a flexible adhesive formula that works exceptionally well on both rigid plastic parts and flexible Lexan bodyshells. Unlike rigid adhesives that can crack under stress, this repair compound maintains flexibility once cured, allowing your bodywork to move naturally without re-breaking at the repair site. This makes it far superior to traditional super glues or brittle epoxy resins that simply shatter when subjected to the vibrations and impacts of RC driving.

For anyone running RC vehicles in the UK, from the competitive off-road racing scene to casual park flying enthusiasts, having a reliable plastic and Lexan repair product in your workshop is absolutely essential. The Fastrax brand is renowned throughout the RC community for producing quality accessories and maintenance products, and the 'Flexi Tuff Stuff' continues this tradition with a formula that has been proven by thousands of RC hobbyists across Europe.

Key Features

  • Flexible Formula — This adhesive maintains flexibility after curing, which is absolutely critical when bonding plastic and Lexan components that experience constant movement and vibration during operation. Standard rigid adhesives will crack and fail under these conditions, but the flexible nature of 'Flexi Tuff Stuff' allows your repairs to last through multiple driving sessions without breaking apart at the repair joint.
  • Plastic Component Bonding — Specifically engineered to create strong, permanent bonds on all types of plastic used in RC car bodies, chassis parts, interior components and accessories. Whether you're repairing ABS plastic bodyshells, polycarbonate parts, or composite plastic panels, this formula provides reliable adhesion.
  • Lexan Shell Repair — Lexan (polycarbonate) bodyshells are common on many RC cars and require specialist adhesives to prevent crazing and brittleness. The 'Flexi Tuff Stuff' is optimised for Lexan, allowing you to repair cracks, seal seams and reinforce weak areas without damaging the material or compromising the shell's structural integrity.
  • 100ml Bottle Size — The 100ml volume provides exceptional value and longevity, giving you enough product for multiple repairs. This size is ideal for serious RC enthusiasts who maintain their own vehicles regularly, or for hobby shops and RC clubs that need a reliable repair solution on hand.
  • Easy Application — The product comes in a convenient bottle format that allows for precise application to damaged areas. The brush or applicator approach makes it simple to target specific cracks and joints without waste, and the formula flows well into gaps where repairs are needed most.
  • Professional Quality — Fastrax is an established manufacturer in the RC hobby industry, and this repair compound meets professional standards for strength and reliability. Used by RC racers, teams and enthusiasts throughout the UK and Europe, it's a product trusted by people who depend on their vehicles performing consistently.

Technical Performance

The Fastrax 'Flexi Tuff Stuff' Plastic & Lexan Repair represents a carefully engineered adhesive solution developed specifically for the unique demands of RC vehicle maintenance. Standard adhesives fail in RC applications because bodyshells and plastic components experience constant stress from engine vibration, servo movement, suspension flex and impact loading. This product's flexible curing mechanism ensures that once hardened, the bonded joint will move with the surrounding material rather than creating a rigid stress point that eventually fractures. The formula has been tested extensively on the types of plastic and Lexan commonly used in modern RC cars, including high-impact ABS polymers, rigid polycarbonate shells, and flexible body panel materials. The 100ml bottle size provides excellent value with sufficient product for between 10-20 typical repairs depending on the size and extent of damage being addressed. Application is straightforward — clean the damaged area, apply the adhesive to both surfaces, join them together and allow proper curing time before returning the vehicle to use. The product works on vertical surfaces without running, horizontal surfaces without pooling, and will penetrate into small cracks to provide comprehensive bonding. Whether you're repairing a small hairline crack in a Lexan shell, bonding a separated plastic bumper mount back to the chassis, or sealing gaps where body panels meet, this adhesive provides the strength and flexibility required for long-lasting repairs that survive the demanding environment of RC car operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will Flexi Tuff Stuff repair work on my Lexan RC car body? — Yes, this product is specifically formulated to work on Lexan (polycarbonate) bodyshells commonly used on RC cars. Lexan requires specialist adhesives because standard super glues and epoxies can cause crazing and brittleness in the material. The 'Flexi Tuff Stuff' is optimised for Lexan and will create flexible, durable repairs that won't cause further damage to your shell.
  • Is this suitable for plastic chassis components? — Absolutely. The product bonds effectively to all types of plastic used in RC vehicles, including rigid ABS polymers used for chassis plates, bumper mounts, servo mounts and other structural parts. The flexible formula means repairs on moving components won't crack under stress.
  • How long does the repair take to cure? — While specific curing times aren't detailed in the product information, most adhesive products of this type require 24 hours for full strength development. We recommend waiting at least overnight before returning a repaired component to use, though you should check the bottle instructions for precise curing times.
  • Will this repair last through serious bashing and racing? — Yes. The flexible formula is specifically designed to withstand the vibrations, impacts and stress that RC vehicles experience during normal operation. The repair will move with the surrounding material rather than creating a brittle stress point, making it far more durable than rigid adhesives.
  • Can I use this on my RC crawler or off-road buggy? — Yes, the 'Flexi Tuff Stuff' works on any RC vehicle where plastic or Lexan components need repair. Whether you're running a competitive off-road buggy, a tough RC crawler, or a high-speed on-road racer, this product provides the repair solution you need to keep your vehicle running.
  • What's the advantage over super glue or epoxy resin? — Standard super glue (cyanoacrylate) creates brittle bonds that crack when subjected to vibration and movement. Epoxy resins are rigid and also prone to cracking under stress. The 'Flexi Tuff Stuff' maintains flexibility after curing, allowing your repairs to flex with the component without re-breaking at the repair site — this is essential for RC applications.
  • Is this good value for money? — With 100ml of product, you get approximately 10-20 repairs depending on their size. At £8.49, this represents excellent value compared to buying multiple smaller bottles or tubes of inferior adhesives. The quality of repair also means fewer repeat failures and less wasted material.
