Overview

The Etronix 9.3kg/0.13s Standard Digital Servo Metal Gear (ET2047) is a precision-engineered digital RC servo designed for enthusiasts who demand reliable performance in their RC car UK builds. Whether you're piloting a 1/10 scale buggy, truck, or other standard-sized RC vehicle, this servo delivers the speed and torque needed for responsive steering control and dependable operation. The combination of fast 0.13-second transit speed and 9.3kg-cm of torque at 6.0V makes this an excellent choice for both experienced racers and those new to the RC hobby looking to upgrade their control systems.

Built with durability in mind, this standard-sized servo features a robust metal gear train that resists wear and delivers consistent performance lap after lap. The lightweight plastic case keeps the overall weight to just 55.6g, ensuring minimal impact on your vehicle's balance and handling characteristics. With a full selection of servo horns, mounting rubbers, and hardware included in the box, you'll have everything needed to install this servo into your ready to run RC car or customised build.

The Etronix ET2047 is particularly suited for RC enthusiasts who want genuine metal gearing without the premium price tag of high-end competition servos. It represents outstanding value for money and performs reliably in a wide range of RC applications, from casual weekend bashing to more serious RC car hobby pursuits across the UK.

Key Features

  • Fast 0.13-Second Transit Speed — At 6.0V, this servo responds in just 0.13 seconds to traverse a 60-degree arc, ensuring rapid steering input and tight control response during high-speed cornering and aggressive manoeuvres on the track.
  • Strong 9.3kg-cm Torque Output — The powerful torque rating at 6.0V provides the force needed to move control surfaces firmly and maintain servo position under load, preventing servo flutter and binding even during demanding driving conditions.
  • Metal Gear Construction — Unlike cheaper plastic gear designs, the metal gear train offers superior durability and longevity, resisting damage from impacts, extreme steering inputs, and the wear that comes with frequent use in competitive or recreational RC applications.
  • Digital Precision Control — The digital servo technology provides enhanced resolution and accuracy compared to analogue servos, giving you finer control over steering curves and trim adjustments through your RC car's receiver and transmitter.
  • Lightweight at 55.6g — The compact, low-weight design minimises the servo's impact on your vehicle's overall weight distribution and handling balance, particularly important in 1/10 scale RC cars where every gramme counts.
  • Standard Size Format — This servo uses the widely recognised standard-size footprint, making it compatible with the vast majority of 1/10 scale RC vehicles including buggies, touring cars, short-course trucks, and stadium trucks.
  • Complete Installation Package — Every servo arrives with multiple servo horns for different mounting configurations, mounting rubbers to dampen vibration and isolate servo noise, and all the mounting hardware you need for hassle-free installation.
  • 6.0V Maximum Operating Voltage — Designed to work with standard NiMh battery packs commonly used in RC cars, with the servo delivering optimal performance at this voltage rating.

Technical Performance

The Etronix 9.3kg/0.13s servo represents a thoughtfully engineered balance between performance, durability, and affordability. Operating at 6.0V, this digital servo achieves a transit speed of 0.13 seconds across a 60-degree arc—fast enough for responsive steering input in virtually all RC car applications. The 9.3kg-cm torque specification provides substantial holding power and actuation force, ensuring the servo maintains its commanded position without drooping or drifting under load. The metal gear construction is the standout engineering feature here; metal gears resist stripping and damage far better than plastic alternatives, extending the servo's operational lifespan significantly. The plastic case keeps overall weight down to just 55.6g, a critical consideration for 1/10 scale vehicles where weight distribution affects handling, acceleration, and braking. At 40.5 x 20.3 x 38.0mm in dimension, the servo maintains the standard size form factor that integrates seamlessly into purpose-built RC car mounts. The digital control circuitry ensures precise position holding and smooth servo response across the entire range of motion. This servo is engineered for the RC hobbyist who wants genuine metal gearing durability without paying premium competition-grade prices, making it an intelligent choice for upgrading an existing RC car or completing a new build.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this servo suitable for 1/10 scale RC cars and buggies? — Yes, this is a standard-sized servo designed specifically for 1/10 scale RC vehicles. It is compatible with most 1/10 scale buggies, touring cars, short-course trucks, and stadium trucks. However, always check your specific vehicle's servo bay dimensions and compatibility before purchase, as some custom builds may require micro-sized servos instead.
  • What battery voltage does this servo require? — This servo is rated for 6.0V operation with NiMh battery packs. Do not exceed 6.0V maximum voltage, as this will damage the servo's electronics. Ensure your RC car's receiver is powered by a properly regulated 6.0V battery pack.
  • How does the metal gear construction benefit me as an RC enthusiast? — Metal gears are significantly more durable than plastic gears and resist stripping, cracking, and wear far better. If you plan to use this servo regularly or engage in competitive racing, the metal gear construction ensures your servo will maintain consistent performance over many months of use without the costly replacement that plastic gears might require.
  • Is this servo fast enough for competitive RC car racing? — The 0.13-second transit speed is competitive and responsive for most RC car applications. Many competitive racers successfully use servos in this performance bracket. For high-level competition, you might explore competition-grade servos with faster transit times, but this servo is thoroughly suitable for serious recreational racing and club-level events.
  • Can I use this servo to replace an existing servo in my RC car? — Yes, provided your vehicle uses a standard-size servo mounting bay. The ET2047 includes multiple servo horns and mounting hardware, so you can adapt it to fit most standard-sized servo installations. Verify the mounting dimensions (40.5 x 20.3 x 38.0mm) against your vehicle's specifications before installation.
  • What makes a digital servo better than an analogue servo? — Digital servos offer superior resolution, faster response times, and more precise positional accuracy. They also provide better holding torque and can be programmed for custom response curves through compatible transmitters. The digital circuitry in this servo ensures smooth, jitter-free control across the full range of motion.
