Overview

The Etronix 120cm 22AWG Futaba Twisted Extension Wire ET0740 is an essential accessory for RC enthusiasts looking to extend the reach between their receiver and servos or compatible devices. Whether you are building a complex RC car setup in the UK, constructing a larger RC buggy, or working on an RC aircraft project, this extension lead provides the generous length you need for flexible component positioning without compromising on signal quality or reliability. The 120cm length offers ample run to accommodate larger models or installations where tidy cable routing and component separation are preferred design goals.

This straightforward yet indispensable extension lead uses the industry-standard Futaba-style connector, making it compatible with a wide range of RC models and radio control applications across cars, buggies, trucks, boats and aircraft. The twisted lead format is engineered specifically for clean, manageable wiring that reduces clutter in your model and makes installation straightforward, even for users new to RC hobbies. At just £3.59, it represents exceptional value for money and is an ideal addition to any RC modeller's spares box.

RC Model Shop stocks the Etronix ET0740 in ready supply, with same-day shipping available on most orders. This extension wire is perfect for anyone building their first RC model, upgrading an existing setup, or maintaining a fleet of RC vehicles. The twisted construction and Futaba-style standard make this lead a practical choice that will serve you reliably across multiple projects.

Key Features

  • 120cm Length — At 1200mm long, this extension lead provides generous reach between your receiver and servo or accessory, allowing you to position components further from the receiver bay while maintaining clean, organised wiring throughout your model.
  • 22AWG Wire Gauge — The 22 AWG specification ensures adequate conductor size for reliable signal transmission and power delivery across your RC setup without signal degradation or voltage drop issues.
  • Futaba-Style Connectors — These industry-standard connectors ensure broad compatibility with servos and devices that use Futaba-compatible connections, making this lead suitable for a huge range of RC models and setups across RC cars, buggies, trucks, boats and aircraft applications.
  • Twisted Lead Format — The twisted design of the lead keeps wires organised and tidy, reducing the visual clutter inside your model bay and making future maintenance and adjustments far simpler and more straightforward.
  • High Stock Availability — Available now at RC Model Shop with reliable same-day shipping on most UK orders, ensuring you can get your project completed without frustrating delays.

Technical Performance

The Etronix 120cm 22AWG Futaba Twisted Extension Wire is engineered with precision to meet the demands of serious RC modellers and casual hobbyists alike. The 22 AWG wire gauge provides the optimal balance between flexibility and conductivity, ensuring reliable signal transmission between your receiver and servo systems without the voltage drop that can occur with undersized conductors. The twisted construction is more than just cosmetic—it actively reduces electromagnetic interference and signal noise, resulting in cleaner, more responsive servo control throughout your RC model. The 120cm length is specifically designed to accommodate larger RC models and complex component layouts where receivers and servos need to be separated by significant distances. Futaba-style connectors have become the de facto standard across the hobby, and this lead's compatibility with this universal standard means you can confidently integrate it into virtually any contemporary RC setup. Whether you are assembling a precision racing RC buggy, building a scale crawling truck, or constructing a long-range RC aircraft, this extension lead provides the reliability and performance characteristics you can depend on.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a Futaba-style servo extension lead and why would I need one? — A servo extension lead allows you to increase the distance between your RC receiver and your servo or accessory without soldering or splicing connections. The Futaba-style connector is the industry standard found on hundreds of RC servos, receivers and compatible devices. You would use this lead when your receiver location does not allow your servo to connect directly, or when you want to position servo controls further away for better weight distribution or cable routing in your model.
  • Is the 120cm length suitable for all RC models? — The 120cm length is designed for flexibility and accommodates larger RC models and complex installations where components need meaningful separation. For compact setups or smaller RC cars and buggies, you may find this length excessive, though the extra lead can always be coiled neatly behind the receiver. For large-scale RC trucks, aircraft and crawler models, this length is ideal and may even be insufficient, in which case you might consider using multiple extension leads in series.
  • Will this work with my Futaba transmitter and receiver system? — Yes, this extension lead is designed for use with any RC equipment using the standard Futaba-style servo connector. It is compatible with Futaba radio systems and many other brands that have adopted this universal connector standard across the RC hobby.
  • What is the difference between twisted and non-twisted servo extension leads? — Twisted extension leads like this one keep the conductors wound together tightly, which reduces electromagnetic interference, minimises signal noise, and provides a neater, more professional appearance in your model. Non-twisted leads may produce slightly more signal noise and are less organised inside the model bay.
  • Can I solder this lead directly to my servo if I do not have a Futaba-style connector? — Whilst technically possible, soldering directly to servo wires is not recommended unless you have electrical experience. The Futaba-style connector standard exists precisely to avoid this complication, and you should source a servo with compatible connectors or use an appropriate adapter rather than modifying the lead itself.
