Overview
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 65 WT is an essential maintenance product for serious RC enthusiasts who demand the best performance from their suspension systems. Whether you're running a high-performance RC car, buggy, or truck, maintaining your shock absorbers with premium-quality silicone oil is crucial for consistent handling, predictable damping characteristics, and longevity of your suspension components. This 150ml bottle of ultra-pure silicone shock oil is specifically formulated to deliver the precise viscosity and performance characteristics that competitive and recreational RC drivers expect from Team Corally products.
Shock oil is one of the most critical maintenance consumables in RC racing and bashing. The viscosity of your shock oil directly affects how your vehicle responds to bumps, jumps, and cornering forces. A 65 WT viscosity rating means this oil provides a medium-firm damping response, making it suitable for a wide range of RC vehicles and driving conditions. Whether you're preparing your RC model for track racing, off-road bashing, or casual weekend drives across varied terrain in the UK, having the correct shock oil specification ensures your suspension performs consistently and your shocks last longer.
Team Corally is recognised throughout the RC hobby as a premium manufacturer of high-quality RC vehicles and accessories. Their shock oil range has earned a strong reputation among RC enthusiasts for purity and consistency. This ultra-pure silicone formulation means you're getting a product free from impurities that could compromise damping performance or cause wear to internal shock components. For anyone serious about maintaining their RC buggy, monster truck, or competition-grade RC vehicle, Corally's shock oil is a trusted choice that delivers professional-grade results.
Key Features
- Ultra Pure Silicone Formulation — This shock oil is manufactured to the highest purity standards, ensuring it contains no harmful impurities that could cause internal wear or inconsistent damping performance in your RC shock absorbers. Pure silicone oil maintains its viscosity characteristics across temperature variations, which is essential for consistent handling whether you're racing in summer heat or autumn conditions across the UK.
- 65 WT Viscosity Rating — The 65 WT specification indicates a medium-firm damping characteristic that balances responsiveness with stability. This weight is ideal for general-purpose RC driving, offering predictable suspension behaviour across a range of vehicle types, driving styles, and track conditions, making it suitable for both beginners developing their skills and experienced drivers fine-tuning their setups.
- 150ml Convenient Bottle Size — The 150ml capacity provides sufficient shock oil for multiple shock absorber refills or complete suspension system maintenance across several vehicles. This is an ideal size for hobbyists who maintain multiple RC models or for competitive drivers who need to refresh their shock oil regularly during racing seasons.
- 100% Pure Silicone Oil — Unlike mineral-based alternatives or blended formulations, this is pure silicone oil, which offers superior thermal stability, better lubrication properties, and more predictable viscosity performance across temperature ranges. Pure silicone doesn't degrade as quickly as inferior alternatives, meaning your shocks maintain consistent performance longer between maintenance intervals.
- Professional Grade Quality — Team Corally shock oil meets the exacting standards expected by competitive RC drivers and is frequently used in race environments where consistency and reliability are non-negotiable. By using professional-grade shock oil in your RC vehicles, you're ensuring the same level of suspension precision that top competitors rely on.
- Precise Damping Control — The correct viscosity shock oil allows you to achieve precise tuning of your suspension's damping characteristics. Whether you need to adjust for softer, more forgiving suspension action or create firmer, more responsive handling, having the right shock oil specification is the foundation of suspension tuning, and 65 WT provides an excellent baseline viscosity for most applications.
Technical Performance
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 65 WT represents the kind of precision maintenance product that separates casual RC enthusiasts from serious hobbyists. Shock oil viscosity is measured in weight (WT) grades, with higher numbers indicating thicker, more resistant oil that provides firmer damping. The 65 WT specification places this oil in the medium range, making it exceptionally versatile across different RC vehicle types and driving conditions. The viscosity rating directly affects how quickly your shock absorbers compress and extend, influencing your vehicle's ride height, handling response, and ground contact during acceleration, braking, and cornering.
Ultra-pure silicone oil maintains consistent viscosity across temperature variations far better than lower-quality alternatives. This thermal stability is crucial because RC vehicles experience significant temperature fluctuations during extended driving sessions or when racing in different seasons. A quality silicone formulation ensures that your shocks perform identically during the warm-up laps and the heat of competitive racing, or whether you're driving your RC model on a cold winter's day or during summer heatwaves across the United Kingdom. The purity of this formulation means there are no contaminants or additives that could cause unpredictable viscosity changes or build up deposits inside your shock absorbers over time.
For RC cars, buggies, and trucks, the shock absorber is the primary suspension component managing vertical movement and energy dissipation. The oil inside the shock absorber works in conjunction with the shock spring to control how the suspension responds to terrain irregularities and dynamic forces. Using the correct viscosity shock oil ensures that your damping is predictable and tunable. Team Corally's 65 WT represents a proven viscosity specification that has been refined through extensive racing and development experience, making it a reliable choice whether you're setting up a new RC vehicle or maintaining an existing competition-proven platform. The 150ml bottle provides ample supply for multiple shock refills, making it economical for regular maintenance schedules that serious hobbyists maintain.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is 65 WT shock oil suitable for? — The 65 WT viscosity rating makes this shock oil suitable for a wide range of RC vehicles including buggies, monster trucks, short-course trucks, and general-purpose bashers. It provides a balanced damping characteristic that works well in moderate to firm suspension setups and suits various driving styles from casual weekend driving to competitive racing environments.
- How often should I change my shock oil? — Most RC enthusiasts recommend refreshing shock oil every 20-40 hours of driving, or whenever you notice damping performance becoming less consistent or predictable. High-temperature driving, wet conditions, or intense racing may require more frequent maintenance. Regular shock oil changes keep your suspension performing optimally and extend the lifespan of internal shock components.
- Is ultra-pure silicone better than standard shock oil? — Yes, ultra-pure silicone formulations contain significantly fewer impurities than standard alternatives, which means better thermal stability, more consistent viscosity across temperature ranges, superior lubrication properties, and reduced risk of internal shock wear. Professional and competitive RC drivers specifically choose ultra-pure silicone oils to ensure the most predictable suspension performance.
- Will this shock oil work in my specific RC vehicle? — The 65 WT viscosity is suitable for the vast majority of RC vehicles on the market, including most 1/10 and 1/8 scale cars, buggies, and trucks. However, shock oil selection should ideally match your vehicle manufacturer's specifications and your personal suspension tuning preferences. If your RC model's manual specifies a particular viscosity weight, ensure you select the matching specification.
- How do I know if I need thicker or thinner shock oil? — If your suspension feels too soft or bouncy, you may benefit from thicker (higher WT) oil. If your suspension feels too stiff or doesn't absorb impacts smoothly, thinner (lower WT) oil may help. The 65 WT provides an excellent middle ground for general-purpose RC driving, but having access to a range of viscosities allows you to fine-tune your suspension for specific tracks, conditions, or driving styles.
- Is this product suitable for beginners? — Yes, this shock oil is suitable for RC hobbyists of all experience levels. Beginners should maintain their shock oil as part of regular vehicle care, and 65 WT provides a reliable baseline viscosity. Experienced drivers and competitors also favour this specification for its versatility and proven performance, making it a confidence-inspiring choice whether you're new to the hobby or highly experienced.
