Overview
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 60 WT is an essential maintenance product for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision tuning and optimal performance from their RC cars and trucks. Whether you're running a competitive 1/10 scale buggy, a high-speed off-road truck, or any RC vehicle with adjustable shock absorbers, this premium silicone shock oil delivers the consistency and purity required for reliable damping characteristics. Shock oil is a critical component in RC suspension setup, directly affecting how your vehicle handles corners, absorbs bumps, and maintains stability during high-speed runs. This 150ml bottle of ultra-pure silicone oil ensures you have enough product for multiple shock absorber servicing sessions, whether you're preparing for a race weekend or performing routine maintenance on your RC collection.
Corally, a respected name in the RC hobby, has formulated this shock oil to meet the exacting standards of RC drivers who understand that suspension tuning separates competitive machines from casual bashers. The 60 WT viscosity grade is one of the most popular weights used in RC shock absorbers, providing a balanced compromise between responsiveness and stability that suits a wide variety of driving conditions and vehicle setups. From limestone tracks to clay circuits, from green-lane bashing to tarmac road courses, getting your shock oil specification right is fundamental to extracting the best performance from your RC investment. Ready to run RC cars and high-end competition kits alike benefit from proper shock maintenance using quality oils like this.
This product is ideal for anyone who takes their RC hobby seriously and recognises that small details matter enormously. Amateur competitors preparing for club races, experienced RC racers fine-tuning their machines for championship events, and dedicated hobbyists maintaining their collections will all appreciate the quality and reliability that Corally shock oil provides. The 150ml size makes it an economical choice for both occasional users and serious competitors who service their shocks regularly throughout the season.
Key Features
- 100% Pure Silicone Formulation — This shock oil is manufactured from pure silicone with no additives or contaminants, ensuring consistent viscosity performance and preventing gumming or separation over time, which is essential for maintaining predictable damping characteristics in your RC suspension system.
- 60 WT Viscosity Grade — The 60 WT rating represents a medium viscosity that balances responsiveness and stability, making it suitable for a broad range of driving conditions, vehicle types, and track surfaces commonly encountered by RC drivers in the UK and internationally.
- 150ml Bottle Size — The generous 150ml capacity provides sufficient product for multiple shock servicing sessions, making this bottle excellent value and ensuring you maintain consistent suspension performance throughout your racing season without running out mid-competition.
- Professional Quality Formulation — Developed by Corally for precision RC applications, this oil maintains consistent performance across temperature ranges and driving conditions, critical for competitors who need predictable behaviour whether racing in summer heat or winter chill.
- Compatible with Standard RC Shocks — This silicone oil works with all standard RC shock absorber systems using oil-damped suspension, including double-wishbone, multi-link, and independent suspension configurations found on modern RC buggies, trucks and cars.
- Easy Application and Measurement — The 150ml bottle format allows precise measurement and controlled application directly into shock reservoirs, with the viscosity remaining stable during storage and use, preventing the settling or separation issues sometimes encountered with lower-quality alternatives.
Technical Performance
Shock absorber oil viscosity is measured in weight (WT) units that correspond to how the fluid flows and dampens movement within the shock cylinder. The 60 WT specification of this Corally oil indicates a medium viscosity that provides excellent all-round performance characteristics. When shock oil is too light (low WT number), suspension becomes overly responsive but can feel bouncy and unpredictable; when too heavy, shocks become sluggish and rob the vehicle of traction during rapid weight transfers. The 60 WT rating strikes an optimal balance for most RC applications, making it the choice of countless competitive drivers and experienced hobbyists. The ultra-pure silicone formulation ensures that the oil maintains consistent thickness and damping action across repeated compression and extension cycles, which is essential because shock oils must perform identically whether the shocks are operating at 10 compressions per second or 100. This consistency prevents the performance drift that can occur with inferior oils containing contaminants or additives that degrade under the stress of suspension movement. The 150ml size ensures you have adequate product for proper shock servicing, as most RC shock absorbers require 15-30ml of oil each depending on design and desired damping ratio. For UK RC competitors and serious hobbyists, having a dedicated bottle of professional-grade shock oil means you can experiment with suspension tuning, adjust oil weights between races, and maintain your equipment to the standards required for competitive success.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What viscosity weight should I use in my RC shocks? — The correct viscosity depends on your driving style, track conditions, and vehicle setup. The 60 WT grade supplied here is a popular mid-range option suitable for most drivers and conditions. Lighter oils (lower WT numbers like 30 or 40 WT) provide more responsive suspension ideal for high-grip tracks, whilst heavier oils (higher WT numbers like 80 or 100 WT) offer more stability on low-grip surfaces and suit aggressive driving styles. Many competitive drivers start with 60 WT as a baseline and adjust from there.
- How often should I change my RC shock oil? — Regular maintenance depends on usage frequency. Casual weekend bashers might service shocks once or twice yearly, whilst competitive racers often refresh shock oil between major events or when they notice performance changes. Over time, shock oil can accumulate dust, dirt, and metal particles from internal shock wear, which degrades damping quality. Fresh oil ensures peak performance.
- Is this silicone oil compatible with all RC shock types? — Yes, this ultra-pure silicone oil works with all standard oil-damped RC shock absorbers including those found on buggies, trucks, stadium racers, and other RC vehicles. It is suitable for both front and rear shocks on any RC car or truck using traditional hydraulic damping systems.
- What is the difference between 60 WT and other viscosity grades? — Viscosity weight directly affects how stiff or responsive your suspension feels. Lower weights like 30 or 40 WT flow more freely, allowing shocks to compress and extend quickly, delivering a responsive, lively feel. Higher weights like 80 or 100 WT flow more slowly, creating stiffer damping that resists movement and provides stability. The 60 WT supplied here offers a popular middle ground, making it ideal for drivers who want balanced performance without extreme tuning in either direction.
- How much shock oil does a typical RC vehicle need? — Most RC shocks hold between 15-30ml of oil per unit. A standard RC buggy or truck with four shocks would typically require 60-120ml total, making this 150ml bottle sufficient for multiple servicing sessions or experiments with different viscosity grades.
- Is pure silicone oil better than oils with additives? — Pure silicone formulations like this Corally product offer superior consistency and predictability because they don't degrade or separate over time. Oils containing additives or impurities can gum up, lose viscosity, or exhibit inconsistent damping characteristics, particularly under the extreme working conditions of RC suspension systems operating at high frequencies.
