This 150ml bottle of 45 WT shock oil represents the professional-grade fluid that serious RC hobbyists trust for their vehicles. The 45 weight viscosity is a popular all-rounder choice for many RC car setups, offering a balanced damping rate that works well in both on-road and off-road applications. From beginners setting up their first ready-to-run RC car to seasoned competitors fine-tuning their suspension geometry, having the correct shock oil is fundamental to achieving optimal vehicle performance. Proper shock oil maintenance is one of the most overlooked yet critical aspects of RC car ownership. Your shock absorbers work continuously during every run, and using the correct grade of pure silicone oil ensures your suspension remains responsive, consistent and durable. Whether you're upgrading your suspension setup on a 1/10 scale buggy, maintaining a 1/8 scale truggy, or servicing any RC model UK enthusiasts favour, this Corally shock oil is an indispensable consumable for regular maintenance schedules.
Key Features
- Ultra Pure Silicone Formula — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, which ensures it maintains its viscosity characteristics over extended periods and across varying temperatures, providing consistent damping performance every time you run your RC car.
- 45 WT Viscosity Grade — The 45 weight rating represents a medium viscosity that balances comfort and responsiveness, making it suitable for a wide range of RC applications and driving styles, from casual bashers to competitive racers seeking fine-tuned suspension response.
- Professional-Grade Quality — Team Corally is a recognised manufacturer of high-quality RC components and consumables, and this shock oil meets the standards expected by serious hobbyists and competition drivers throughout the UK and Europe.
- Optimised Damping Performance — The precise viscosity formulation ensures shock absorbers compress and extend smoothly, providing predictable handling characteristics and allowing you to tune your RC vehicle's suspension setup with confidence.
- Extended Shock Life — Using the correct grade of pure silicone oil protects internal shock components from wear and degradation, extending the service life of your expensive suspension hardware and reducing maintenance costs over time.
- 150ml Bottle Size — One 150ml bottle provides ample quantity for multiple shock absorber fills and top-ups, offering excellent value and reducing the frequency of reordering this essential maintenance consumable.
- Consistent Viscosity Across Conditions — Premium silicone formulation resists viscosity changes due to temperature fluctuations, meaning your suspension performs predictably whether you're running in summer heat or cooler winter conditions typical of UK RC racing seasons.
Technical Performance
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 45 WT delivers the consistent, predictable damping characteristics that RC enthusiasts demand. At 45 weight viscosity, this oil provides an ideal balance between suspension responsiveness and comfort, making it suitable for virtually all RC applications. The 100% pure silicone formulation ensures the oil maintains its performance characteristics throughout the life of your shock absorbers, resisting breakdowns and viscosity changes that can occur with inferior products. UK RC racers and weekend bashers alike rely on products meeting these specifications to maintain the precise handling feel their vehicles require. Whether you're operating a highly tuned competition buggy that demands responsive suspension feedback or a bashing rig that needs to absorb rough terrain impacts, the consistent damping this oil provides makes it an industry standard choice. The ultra-pure formulation means fewer contaminants and additives, delivering cleaner shock performance and compatibility with all standard RC shock absorber designs. This is particularly important for competitors and serious hobbyists who need suspension performance they can measure, predict and rely upon, run after run.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What viscosity should I choose for my RC car shock absorbers? — Shock oil viscosity directly affects how your RC vehicle's suspension responds to bumps and cornering forces. The 45 WT (weight) grade in this bottle represents a medium viscosity ideal for general-purpose RC applications. Lighter oils (like 30 WT) provide faster shock response and are popular for racing setups requiring quick suspension feedback, whilst heavier oils (like 60 WT) offer softer, more comfortable rides for bashing and off-road driving. The 45 WT sits in the middle, making it an excellent all-rounder choice that suits most RC cars available to UK enthusiasts.
- Why must I use pure silicone oil in my RC shocks? — Pure silicone oil is the industry standard for RC shock absorbers because it maintains consistent viscosity across a wide temperature range, resists degradation and foaming, and is compatible with rubber and plastic shock components. Lower-grade oils or automotive alternatives can break down, change viscosity unpredictably, or damage seals, resulting in leaking shocks and unpredictable handling. This ultra-pure formulation from Team Corally ensures your shocks perform as engineered.
- How often should I change my shock oil? — This depends on your usage. Casual bashers might service shocks once per season, whilst competitive racers typically service shocks before major events or every 5-10 hours of running time. Signs you need fresh oil include slow or sluggish shock response, visible dirt or discolouration in the oil, or leaking shocks. A 150ml bottle provides plenty of oil for multiple services, making it cost-effective to maintain your shocks properly.
- Will this shock oil work in all my RC models? — Yes, this 45 WT pure silicone oil is universally compatible with standard RC shock absorbers regardless of vehicle type. Whether you're running 1/10 scale buggies, 1/8 scale trucks, 1/5 scale bashing rigs, or any other RC model available in the UK market, this oil will work effectively in your shocks as long as they use standard silicone oil.
- Is this shock oil suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. The 45 WT viscosity is an excellent starting point for beginners learning suspension tuning, as it provides balanced performance that works well in most conditions. Many ready-to-run RC cars come with 45 WT shock oil, making this Corally product a perfect replacement or service option when you need to top up or change your shocks.
- What is the difference between pure silicone and standard shock oils? — Pure silicone oil, like this Corally product, contains no additives or contaminants and maintains viscosity stability better than alternative formulations. Standard or inferior-grade oils may contain additives that can degrade, foam, or react unpredictably. Using genuine pure silicone oil ensures consistent suspension performance and protects your shock absorber seals and internals from damage.
