Overview
The Corally Shock Shaft 61mm Front Steel 2 Pcs (C-00180-166) is an essential suspension component for owners of Corally RC cars in the UK who demand reliability and precision in their vehicles. Whether you're running a Corally Kronos, Dementor, Shogun, Jambo, Muraco, Kagama or any other compatible Corally touring car or truck, these hardened steel shock shafts are engineered to deliver consistent performance across a wide range of driving conditions. As a dedicated spare part, this two-piece set provides you with the exact replacement components needed to maintain your RC car's suspension geometry and damping characteristics at their peak.
Shock shafts are critical suspension components that work in conjunction with your shock absorbers to control vehicle height, suspension travel and overall handling dynamics. When these components wear or become damaged through normal use, replacing them with genuine Corally parts ensures your RC car maintains its factory-tuned suspension characteristics and continues to perform as the engineers intended. The Corally Shock Shaft 61mm is specifically designed for front suspension applications, making it the ideal choice for maintaining your Corally RC car's front-end stability, cornering performance and ride quality.
As an authorised UK RC retailer, RC Model Shop stocks genuine Corally spare parts including suspension components like these shock shafts. Whether you're a competitive racer looking to maintain your machine between competitions, a weekend RC enthusiast who wants to keep your car in tip-top condition, or someone new to the RC hobby looking to understand suspension maintenance, these shock shafts represent quality engineering from Team Corally. Investing in genuine replacement parts rather than inferior alternatives ensures your RC car continues to deliver the performance and reliability you expect from a Corally vehicle.
Key Features
- Hardened Steel Construction — These shock shafts are manufactured from hardened steel, which provides exceptional durability and resistance to bending or deformation under the loads experienced during high-speed cornering, jumps and aggressive driving. Steel construction is the industry standard for shock shafts because it offers the strength-to-weight ratio that competitive RC drivers demand.
- CNC-Machined Precision — Each shock shaft is CNC-machined to exact tolerances, ensuring perfect compatibility with your Corally vehicle's suspension geometry. This manufacturing process guarantees that each component meets Corally's exacting specifications for fit, finish and performance consistency across the entire production run.
- Front Suspension Application — These shafts are specifically engineered for front suspension duty, where they work to maintain the correct shock tower geometry and control the vertical movement of your front suspension as it responds to bumps, acceleration forces and cornering loads. Front shafts are critical for maintaining the correct camber and caster angles that directly affect handling and tyre grip.
- 61mm Length Specification — The 61mm length is precisely engineered for Corally front suspension systems, ensuring optimal suspension travel and maintaining the correct centre of gravity and suspension geometry throughout the vehicle's operating range. Using the correct length is essential for achieving the handling characteristics the chassis was engineered to deliver.
- 3.5mm Diameter — The 3.5mm shaft diameter provides the optimal balance between stiffness and weight, allowing your suspension to respond predictably to changing track conditions whilst remaining as lightweight as possible for improved acceleration and deceleration performance.
- Two-Piece Set — This package includes two shock shafts, allowing you to replace both front shafts simultaneously or keep a spare set on hand for competition use or emergency replacements during track days and RC driving events.
- Universal Corally Compatibility — These shock shafts fit a wide range of Corally RC cars including the Kronos 2020, Kronos 2021, Kronos XTR 2021, Kronos 2022, Kronos XTR 2022, Kronos 2.0, Dementor 2020, Dementor 2021, Dementor 2022, Shogun 2020, Shogun 2021, Shogun 2022, Punisher 2021, Jambo 2021, Jambo 2022, Muraco 2021, Muraco 2022, Kagama, Kagama Limited Edition, and Asuga XLR, making them a versatile spare part for any Corally user in the UK.
Technical Performance
The Corally Shock Shaft 61mm Front Steel represents the pinnacle of suspension component engineering for 1/10 and 1/8 scale touring cars and trucks. These shafts are manufactured using hardened steel that has been specially treated to resist the cyclic stresses experienced during competitive RC driving. The CNC-machining process ensures that tolerances are held to within extremely tight specifications, typically within 0.1mm, which is essential for maintaining consistent suspension geometry and preventing unwanted handling characteristics that might develop if components were even slightly out of specification. At 61mm in length and 3.5mm in diameter, these shafts provide the optimal stiffness-to-weight ratio for front suspension applications where they must resist both vertical loads from bumps and lateral forces from cornering without adding unnecessary unsprung mass that would compromise acceleration and handling response. The hardening process increases the material's resistance to fatigue and deformation, meaning these shafts will maintain their dimensional accuracy through thousands of laps and driving sessions. When installed correctly in conjunction with quality shock absorbers, suspension arms and proper setup techniques, these shock shafts help deliver the predictable, responsive handling that separates competitive RC cars from casual basher vehicles. The use of genuine Corally components throughout your suspension system ensures that all components are engineered to work together harmoniously, delivering the performance benefits that Corally engineers built into the chassis design.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these shock shafts suitable for both racing and casual bashing with my RC car? — Yes, these Corally shock shafts are suitable for any driving style. Whether you're competing at local RC tracks in the UK, attending RC events, or simply enjoying casual driving sessions, maintaining your suspension components with genuine parts ensures your Corally vehicle continues to perform reliably and predictably across all driving conditions and track surfaces.
- How often should I replace shock shafts on my Corally RC car? — Shock shaft replacement frequency depends on driving intensity and track conditions. High-speed racing on rough tracks may require replacement every 10,000-20,000 laps, whilst casual weekend driving might allow shafts to last much longer. Inspect shafts regularly for bending, scoring or other damage. If you notice handling changes, uneven tyre wear, or suspension geometry issues, replacement should be considered.
- What is the difference between the 61mm and other shock shaft lengths available? — Different Corally models use different shock shaft lengths to accommodate varying suspension geometry and shock mounting positions. The 61mm front shaft is specifically designed for the listed Corally models and provides the correct suspension travel and geometry for those vehicles. Using incorrect lengths will compromise handling and may cause suspension binding or excess suspension travel.
- Are these shock shafts easy to install on my Corally vehicle? — Yes, shock shaft replacement is a straightforward suspension maintenance task that most RC enthusiasts can complete in minutes using basic tools. Simply remove the top and bottom suspension arms, slide out the old shaft, insert the new one, and reinstall the arms ensuring they're properly seated and secured. No special tools or expertise is required, making this an ideal first maintenance task for new RC car owners.
- Will these genuine Corally shock shafts improve my vehicle's performance compared to budget alternatives? — Genuine Corally components are engineered as a complete suspension system where every part works in harmony with others. Using genuine shock shafts ensures you maintain the suspension geometry and characteristics that Corally engineers designed into your vehicle. Budget alternatives may have looser tolerances or inferior materials that can affect handling consistency and accelerate wear of other suspension components, ultimately costing more in the long run.
