Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 500 CPS is an essential maintenance product for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision tuning and peak performance from their shock absorbers. Whether you're a competitive racer fine-tuning your 1/10 scale buggy, a weekend basher pushing your monster truck to its limits, or an experienced RC hobbyist optimising your suspension setup, this premium silicone shock oil delivers the consistent viscosity and purity required for reliable damping performance. Team Corally's reputation for quality RC components extends to their fluid formulations, and this 150ml bottle of ultra-pure silicone represents the benchmark standard for shock oil in the RC car market.

Shock oil viscosity is one of the most critical variables in RC suspension tuning, directly affecting how your vehicle handles bumps, maintains traction, and responds to track conditions. The 500 CST (centistokes) grade provides a mid-range viscosity suitable for a wide variety of driving styles and track surfaces, making it an excellent choice whether you're running on loose dirt, hard-packed clay, carpet, or tarmac. The ultra-pure formulation ensures that the oil flows consistently through damper shafts and pistons without degradation, maintaining its damping characteristics lap after lap, race after race.

For RC car enthusiasts in the UK seeking genuine Team Corally products with verified quality and performance credentials, this shock oil represents a trusted investment in your RC setup's longevity and reliability. The 150ml bottle provides sufficient fluid for multiple shock absorber fills or adjustments, making it economical for both casual tuners and serious competitors.

Key Features

  • Ultra Pure Silicone Formulation — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, which means there are no contaminants or additives that could affect viscosity stability or cause premature damper degradation, ensuring your shocks perform consistently throughout the racing season.
  • 500 CST Viscosity Grade — The 500 centistoke rating sits in the sweet spot for most RC driving conditions and vehicle types, offering balanced damping that works effectively on both high-grip tracks where you need responsiveness and looser surfaces where you need compliance.
  • Ideal for Shock Absorber Tuning — Different viscosity grades allow RC tuners to fine-tune suspension behaviour without changing spring rates or ride heights, making this oil an essential tool for anyone serious about chassis setup optimisation.
  • 150ml Convenient Bottle Size — The 150ml container provides multiple refills or adjustments for your shock absorbers, eliminating waste whilst ensuring you always have fresh stock available for mid-season tuning adjustments.
  • Verified Quality from Team Corally — Team Corally's engineering heritage and commitment to precision ensure this product meets strict manufacturing standards and performs reliably across countless RC vehicles and applications.
  • Professional Grade Performance — This is the same shock oil specification used by competitive RC racers and serious enthusiasts who demand consistent, predictable damping characteristics that won't degrade under repeated use and temperature fluctuations.

Technical Performance

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 500 CPS represents professional-grade suspension tuning fluid engineered to exacting standards. At 500 centistokes, this viscosity grade provides the optimal balance between damping resistance and flow rate for most RC applications, from 1/10 scale buggies and monster trucks to larger scale vehicles. The ultra-pure silicone base ensures the oil maintains consistent viscosity across temperature variations typical in RC racing — whether you're running indoors in heated halls or outdoors on cold winter tracks. The formulation contains no additives or impurities that could accumulate in damper shafts, piston seals, or spring guides, extending the lifespan of your shock absorbers and maintaining predictable suspension behaviour. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK, this means reliable performance whether you're competing in formal club events, participating in informal group races, or simply pushing your vehicle hard during weekend practice sessions. The 150ml container format ensures the product remains fresh and maintains its viscosity integrity throughout use, with proper sealing preventing oxidation or contamination.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does 500 CPS viscosity mean for RC shock oil? — CPS (centipoise) and CST (centistokes) measure viscosity, with 500 CST indicating a mid-range thickness that provides moderate damping resistance. This grade works well across diverse track conditions and driving styles, making it an excellent baseline choice for most RC vehicles without requiring multiple bottles for experimentation.
  • How do I use shock oil to tune my RC car's suspension? — Different viscosity grades create different damping characteristics: thicker oils (higher CST) slow down shock movement for more controlled behaviour on high-grip tracks, whilst thinner oils allow quicker movement for better bump absorption on loose surfaces. By adjusting oil viscosity, you can fine-tune your vehicle's handling without changing springs or ride height.
  • Is this shock oil suitable for all RC vehicle types? — Yes, the 500 CST grade is versatile enough for buggies, monster trucks, truggy trucks, short-course trucks, and crawler vehicles. However, different specific models and track conditions may benefit from slightly thicker or thinner grades, so having this mid-range option as your baseline makes sense for UK RC enthusiasts.
  • What makes Corally shock oil different from cheaper alternatives? — Corally's ultra-pure formulation contains no contaminants or additives that could clog damper internals or cause viscosity drift over time. This purity ensures consistent performance, longer shock lifespan, and more predictable handling characteristics than lower-grade alternatives.
  • How long will a 150ml bottle last? — A single bottle typically provides multiple shock fills (each shock usually requires 5-15ml depending on design) or numerous tuning adjustments throughout a racing season, making it economical for serious RC enthusiasts.
  • Do I need different viscosity grades? — Most RC tuners build a collection of different viscosity grades (350 CST, 500 CST, 700 CST) to handle various track conditions, but starting with 500 CST as your baseline gives you a versatile middle ground whilst you learn how viscosity affects your vehicle's behaviour.
