These 13mm front shock springs are an essential option part for Team Associated RC buggies and trucks. The grey finish indicates their specific spring rate of 3.4 lb/in, making them instantly recognisable in your parts bin. Whether you're setting up a B6.4D, B74.2D, B74.2, B7, or B7D model, these springs are designed to work seamlessly with your RC car's front shock assembly. The straightforward choice for racers and club drivers who want genuine Team Associated hardware without compromise, these springs represent excellent value and reliability for anyone serious about their RC performance.
Suspension tuning is one of the most important aspects of RC car setup, and the springs you choose can dramatically affect ride height, handling balance, and overall performance on the track. The Team Associated 13mm Front Shock Springs provide a predictable response when adjusting your car's suspension geometry, allowing you to experiment with different setups and find the sweet spot for your driving style and local track conditions.
Key Features
- Precision 3.4 lb/in Spring Rate — The spring rate of 3.4 lb/in is colour-coded in grey for instant identification and is engineered to provide reliable, repeatable performance for accurate suspension setup on 13mm front shock assemblies, giving you confidence in your suspension tuning.
- 13mm Front Shock Compatibility — Designed specifically for 13mm front shock applications, these springs integrate seamlessly with Team Associated RC buggies and trucks, ensuring proper fitment and optimal performance without any modifications required.
- L44 Length Specification — The L44 length is a critical dimension that ensures the springs work correctly within your shock body, providing the proper compression and extension range for consistent handling across your RC car.
- 7.0 Turns Construction — With 7.0 turns of spring material, these springs deliver the exact compression characteristics required for Team Associated models, contributing to predictable and repeatable suspension response during acceleration, braking, and cornering.
- 1.2D Wire Diameter — The 1.2D wire diameter is precisely engineered to deliver the correct spring rate and durability, ensuring these springs maintain their performance characteristics over extended use and multiple racing sessions.
- Genuine Team Associated Quality — These are genuine Team Associated parts manufactured to OEM specifications, providing the assurance that you're using components that meet the exact standards your RC car was designed around, eliminating any compatibility concerns.
- Grey Colour-Coded Finish — The distinctive grey finish makes it easy to identify the spring rate at a glance, helping you avoid confusion when swapping springs or managing multiple sets for different track conditions and setups.
Technical Performance
These 13mm front shock springs are engineered with precision tolerances to deliver consistent performance across repeated use. The 3.4 lb/in spring rate sits in the mid-range of Team Associated's spring lineup, making these springs versatile for a variety of track conditions and driving styles. The combination of 7.0 turns and 1.2D wire diameter creates a spring that responds predictably to compression and extension, which is essential when you're trying to dial in a competitive setup for your RC buggy or truck. Whether you're running on carpet, asphalt, or outdoor dirt tracks, the engineering consistency of these genuine parts ensures that your suspension behaviour remains predictable and repeatable between sessions. The L44 length specification is critical to ensure proper shock travel and ride height, allowing you to make meaningful adjustments to your car's geometry without running out of shock stroke. For UK RC enthusiasts competing at club level or practicing at local tracks, these springs represent the sort of foundational quality that separates dialled-in competitive setups from inconsistent handling. The material composition and manufacturing process ensure durability through countless heat cycles and compression cycles that occur during intensive racing or bashing sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What Team Associated RC cars are these 13mm front shock springs compatible with? — These springs are listed as compatible option parts for the Team Associated B6.4D, B74.2D, B74.2, B7, and B7D models. If you own any of these RC buggies or trucks, these springs will fit your front shock assemblies without any modifications.
- What does the 3.4 lb/in spring rate mean? — The spring rate indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A 3.4 lb/in rating means these are relatively soft springs in Team Associated's lineup, making them suitable for bumpy or rough track surfaces where you want more suspension compliance and smoother handling characteristics.
- Why is the grey colour important on these shock springs? — The grey finish is a colour-coding system used by Team Associated to instantly identify the spring rate. This prevents confusion when you have multiple sets of springs with different rates, and it helps you quickly verify that you've installed the correct springs for your intended setup.
- Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are genuine Team Associated parts manufactured to OEM specifications. When you purchase from RC Model Shop, you're receiving authentic parts that meet the exact standards Team Associated designed your RC car to use, ensuring proper fitment and performance.
- Will these springs work if I'm new to RC cars? — Yes, these springs are suitable for both beginners and experienced racers. However, shock springs are replacement or upgrade parts, not complete assemblies. You'll need them to fit into an existing 13mm front shock body on a compatible Team Associated RC car. If you're brand new to the hobby and don't yet have an RC car, you may want to start with a ready-to-run RC model that comes complete with all suspension components.
- What is the difference between 3.4 lb/in springs and stiffer springs? — Softer springs like these 3.4 lb/in springs provide more suspension travel and compliance, which improves traction on rough surfaces but may reduce precision handling on smooth tracks. Stiffer springs compress less, providing sharper handling response but a rougher ride on bumpy surfaces. Choosing the right spring rate depends on your local track conditions and driving preferences.
- Do I need tools to install these springs? — Installation will require you to disassemble your shock bodies and transfer the springs from your existing shocks to the new springs. You may need a small hex key to remove the shock caps and potentially a spring compressor depending on your specific shock design. Consult your Team Associated manual for detailed installation instructions.
- Can I use these springs on other RC car brands? — These springs are specifically engineered for Team Associated's 13mm shock specifications. While other RC brands may use similar shock sizes, we recommend only using springs designed for your specific vehicle to ensure proper fitment and suspension performance.
