Overview

Keep your Associated RC buggy performing at its best with the genuine Associated AS91676 Caster Hat Bushings, the essential replacement parts for maintaining your 1/10 scale RC car. These precision-engineered bushings are designed as direct OEM replacements for the popular Associated B6 family and other compatible platforms, ensuring your front suspension geometry remains perfectly tuned for optimal handling and stability. Whether you're a seasoned RC enthusiast running your buggy competitively or a dedicated weekend basher pushing your vehicle to its limits, worn caster hat bushings can significantly impact your chassis performance. These genuine Associated parts restore your suspension to factory specifications and help maintain the consistency and reliability that serious RC competitors demand from their equipment.

The caster hat bushings are a critical component of your buggy's front suspension assembly, working together with the caster blocks to establish the correct steering geometry and wheel alignment. As these bushings wear through regular use—whether from intense track racing, rough terrain bashing, or simply the passage of time—they can develop play and slop that affects steering response, tyre wear patterns, and overall handling precision. Replacing them with genuine Associated parts ensures you maintain the exact specifications your manufacturer engineered into your chassis, keeping your RC car UK-ready for competition or casual fun. This is why serious RC hobbyists and competition drivers always keep genuine Associated spares in their pit box, ready to refresh their equipment whenever needed.

RC Model Shop stocks the full range of genuine Associated spare parts, making it easy for UK RC enthusiasts to source authentic components without searching through multiple retailers. Whether you need to refresh a single worn component or build a complete suspension rebuild kit, having access to genuine OEM parts ensures your investment in quality RC equipment continues to deliver the performance you expect.

Key Features

  • Genuine OEM Associated Parts — These are authentic factory-manufactured bushings from Team Associated, ensuring they meet the exact material specifications, dimensional tolerances and performance standards that your buggy was engineered with from the factory. Using genuine parts rather than aftermarket alternatives guarantees compatibility and maintains your chassis tuning.
  • Direct Replacement Design — Manufactured to the precise specifications of the original components, these bushings drop directly into your suspension without modification, adjustment or fitting work. This means even novice modellers can perform the replacement without special tools or technical knowledge, making maintenance accessible to everyone in the RC hobby.
  • Compatibility with Multiple Associated Platforms — Designed to fit the B6, B6D, B6.1, B64, and B74 platforms, these bushings address a wide compatibility range across Associated's popular 1/10 scale buggy lineup. Before installation, always refer to your specific kit manual or parts list to confirm correct fitment for your exact model.
  • Essential Suspension Geometry Component — The caster hat bushings work in conjunction with your caster blocks to establish the steering axis inclination and wheel alignment geometry. When these bushings wear and develop play, your steering response becomes sluggish, your tyre wear patterns become uneven, and your overall handling precision suffers. Regular replacement maintains peak performance.
  • Affordable Maintenance Solution — Keeping these essential wear items in stock allows you to perform routine maintenance without breaking your hobby budget. Many experienced RC drivers refresh their suspension bushings regularly as preventative maintenance rather than waiting for failure, which keeps their equipment in peak condition throughout the season.
  • Stock UK Availability — RC Model Shop maintains these genuine parts in stock and usually ships same day, so you can order your replacement bushings today and have them ready to install within days rather than waiting for international shipping.

Technical Performance

The caster hat bushings represent precision-engineered suspension components that directly influence your buggy's handling characteristics and steering response. These bushings work with your caster blocks to establish the correct caster angle—the forward tilt of your steering axis—which affects how your buggy responds to steering inputs, maintains directional stability during acceleration and braking, and distributes loads through your front suspension geometry. Built from durable materials selected to withstand the repetitive stress and shock loads generated during aggressive driving, these genuine Associated bushings maintain their dimensional stability across thousands of corners and landings. The engineering precision that goes into these seemingly simple components reflects decades of racing development, with Team Associated continuously refining suspension geometry based on feedback from their professional competition drivers and engineering team. Whether you're running your buggy on smooth carpet, hard-packed clay tracks, or rough outdoor terrain, maintaining proper caster geometry through quality bushings ensures your steering remains responsive and your tyre wear stays even, extending the life of your other suspension components and improving overall lap times.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will these caster hat bushings fit my Associated buggy model? — These bushings are designed for the Associated B6, B6D, B6.1, B64, and B74 platforms. However, suspension parts vary significantly across different generations and variants of Associated buggies. Before purchasing, please check your kit manual or parts diagram to confirm this part number AS91676 is correct for your specific model and generation. If you are unsure, contact RC Model Shop for confirmation before ordering.
  • How often should I replace my caster hat bushings? — The replacement interval depends on how frequently and aggressively you drive your buggy. Competitive drivers who are pushing for lap times might replace suspension bushings every few months of regular track time, whilst casual weekend bashers might go much longer. A good approach is to inspect your bushings whenever you perform routine maintenance—if you notice play or movement when gently wiggling the caster block, it's time to replace them. Many experienced drivers refresh bushings regularly as preventative maintenance rather than waiting for them to fail.
  • What tools do I need to replace these bushings? — Basic suspension maintenance tools are typically all you need, usually including socket wrenches or hex drivers to remove and reattach your caster blocks. The exact tools required depend on your specific model's design—refer to your kit manual for detailed removal and installation instructions. Most modellers find these replacements are straightforward enough that even beginners can accomplish them with patience and attention to your factory manual.
  • Are these genuine Associated parts? — Yes, these are authentic OEM parts manufactured by Team Associated. The part number AS91676 corresponds directly to the factory specification, ensuring you receive components engineered to the exact standards your buggy requires. Purchasing genuine parts from an authorised dealer like RC Model Shop guarantees authenticity and manufacturer warranty support.
  • What is the difference between these and aftermarket bushings? — Genuine OEM bushings from Associated are engineered to precise dimensional tolerances and use material specifications developed through years of racing feedback. Aftermarket alternatives may vary in material hardness, dimensional accuracy, or durability characteristics. Using genuine parts ensures you maintain your chassis geometry exactly as the manufacturer intended, which is particularly important if you're tracking your setup against others or trying to replicate winning configurations from other drivers.
  • How do I know if my caster bushings are worn? — Worn bushings typically develop play or slop that you can feel when you gently wiggle the front caster block side to side. You might also notice your steering feels less responsive or your straight-line tracking becomes inconsistent. Additionally, if one side of your front tyres is wearing noticeably faster than the other, worn bushings on that side could be the cause due to improper caster geometry. Regular inspection during routine maintenance helps catch wear early.
