Technical Performance
The Team Associated Diff Drive Rings 2.60:1 are precision-engineered components manufactured to the exact specifications required by Team Associated's range of RC vehicles. The differential is one of the most important systems in any RC car's drivetrain, as it allows the wheels to rotate at different speeds when cornering whilst still receiving power from the motor. The drive rings are the internal gears within the differential housing that work together to distribute this power effectively. A 2.60:1 ratio means that for every 2.60 rotations of the input shaft from the transmission, the output shafts rotate once, providing a specific balance between acceleration and top speed that Team Associated engineers have optimised for numerous vehicle platforms. These rings are manufactured from durable materials selected to withstand the stresses and impacts of RC driving, whether you're racing competitively on a track or bashing across rough terrain. The precision fit and finish of these genuine factory parts ensure smooth meshing with the differential housing and other drivetrain components, minimising noise, vibration, and power loss. When used as part of a complete differential rebuild with fresh oil and properly maintained components, these drive rings will help your RC car deliver smooth, responsive handling and reliable performance for hundreds of hours of driving enjoyment.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Team Associated RC cars are compatible with the 2.60:1 diff drive rings? — These rings are suitable for a very wide range of Team Associated vehicles, including models from the B4, B5, B6 and T-series platforms, as well as the RC10 and SC10 families. They're also compatible with numerous other Team Associated models across different scales and vehicle types. However, we strongly recommend consulting your specific vehicle's manual to confirm that the 2.60:1 ratio is the correct specification for your model before purchasing. If you're unsure, feel free to contact our team at RC Model Shop, and we'll be happy to help identify the correct parts for your vehicle.
- Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, absolutely. These are genuine factory parts manufactured by Team Associated and supplied under their official part number AS7666. By purchasing genuine parts from an authorised UK retailer like RC Model Shop, you can be confident that you're getting authentic, quality components that will fit and perform perfectly in your RC car.
- Do I need any tools to install these differential rings? — Installing differential drive rings requires some mechanical knowledge and the appropriate tools, including a differential housing puller if available, precision screwdrivers, and possibly a small hammer or punch. Most experienced RC enthusiasts can perform this work themselves, but if you're not confident with differential work, we recommend consulting your vehicle manual for detailed instructions or seeking assistance from an experienced RC technician. Our team at RC Model Shop can also provide guidance if you need help.
- What's the difference between different differential gear ratios? — The gear ratio in a differential affects the balance between acceleration and top speed. A lower ratio (like 2.60:1) provides quicker acceleration and better handling in tight spaces, whilst a higher ratio provides higher top speed but slightly slower acceleration. Team Associated specifies the recommended ratio for each vehicle model to optimise performance, so it's important to use the correct ratio for your particular vehicle and driving style.
- How often should I replace my differential drive rings? — Differential drive rings are subject to gradual wear during normal operation. Most RC enthusiasts inspect their differential during routine maintenance and rebuild it periodically, replacing the rings if they show signs of wear or damage. The frequency depends on how much you drive your RC car and how hard you push it. Regular maintenance and using quality differential oil will help extend the life of your rings.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — These are replacement spare parts intended for maintenance and rebuilds rather than complete RC car kits. Beginners should first familiarise themselves with their vehicle's manual and ideally have some experience with RC maintenance before attempting differential work. However, they're an essential part for any RC enthusiast's spares box once you're comfortable with basic maintenance tasks.
