The Team Associated RC10 '89 Stealth Car Front Bulkhead (AS6734) is an authentic moulded component designed for the legendary RC10 '89 Stealth platform, the revolutionary buggy that won the 1989 IFMAR 1/10 Off-Road World Championships in the hands of Masami Hirosaka. This front bulkhead serves as the critical structural mounting point for the front-end assembly, providing the foundation that keeps your RC car's chassis properly aligned and serviceable during maintenance or restoration projects. Whether you're rebuilding a classic RC buggy, restoring an iconic piece of RC racing history, or maintaining your competition-grade 2WD off-road racer, this genuine Team Associated spare part is an essential component that ensures period-correct authenticity and reliable performance.

For RC enthusiasts in the UK who appreciate the heritage and innovation of Team Associated's legendary 1989 Stealth design, this front bulkhead is the correct choice for keeping your RC10 '89 Stealth Car Masami Edition in running order with genuine hardware. The moulded construction is durable and precisely engineered to match the original specifications of Masami's world championship-winning prototype, making it perfect for hobbyists, collectors and competitive racers alike. RC car UK enthusiasts will recognise the significance of this platform—the Stealth transmission and innovative chassis geometry that Hirosaka piloted to victory directly influenced the future of competitive RC buggy engineering for decades to come.

This is not a ready-to-run RC car, but rather a precision spare part for those who own or are building the RC10 '89 Stealth Car Masami Edition. The straightforward design makes it a practical choice for routine repairs, restoration projects and period-correct rebuilds, ensuring your classic buggy maintains authentic Team Associated specifications and continues to perform at its best.

  • Race-Bred Engineering — Designed for the platform that revolutionised competitive off-road RC racing, this front bulkhead carries the legacy of Masami Hirosaka's 1989 world championship victory and the innovative design philosophy that prioritised lightweight construction, precision engineering and radical performance improvements.

Technical Performance

The RC10 '89 Stealth Car represents a watershed moment in RC racing history, and this front bulkhead is engineered to the same exacting standards that made the platform legendary. The prototype that Masami Hirosaka drove to victory featured a narrowed and milled aluminium chassis for reduced weight and improved agility, combined with innovative front-end geometry designed for superior steering response and cornering performance. The Stealth Car platform utilised lightweight materials including carbon fibre and titanium throughout its construction, demonstrating a design philosophy that prioritised speed, balance and durability across every component—including this critical front bulkhead. The moulded construction of this bulkhead provides the structural rigidity necessary to support the independent suspension, front shock tower and wide front suspension arms that characterise the Stealth platform's advanced suspension geometry. Combined with the adjustable camber, camber rise, caster and ride height tuning capabilities built into the A-Arm and ball joint design, this front bulkhead enables precise setup adjustments to suit every type of track surface and driving style. Whether you're competing on high-grip tarmac, loose dirt, sand or mixed-surface terrain, this component forms an essential part of the engineered ecosystem that made the RC10 '89 Stealth one of the most successful and influential RC buggies ever designed.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the AS6734 front bulkhead compatible with other RC10 models? — This front bulkhead is specifically designed for the RC10 '89 Stealth Car Masami Edition platform and features the distinctive geometry and mounting points unique to the 1989 Stealth design. For compatibility with other RC10 variants, consult the Team Associated parts compatibility guide or contact our expert team.
  • What makes the 1989 Stealth Car design so special and historically significant? — The RC10 '89 Stealth Car was a revolutionary prototype that introduced the innovative Stealth transmission—a compact three-gear unit with internal slipper clutch that offered smoother, more efficient power transfer and a lower centre of gravity compared to the standard six-gear RC10 setup. Masami Hirosaka drove this prototype to victory at the 1989 IFMAR 1/10 Off-Road World Championships in St. Ives, Australia, defeating competitors who had never even seen the design before. The Stealth Car's success directly influenced future Team Associated models and reshaped competitive RC buggy engineering for years to come, making it one of the most iconic and historically important RC cars ever built.
  • Do I need any special tools to install this front bulkhead? — Installation requires basic hand tools typical of RC car maintenance and assembly. The moulded construction is designed to fit precisely within the RC10 '89 Stealth platform, and no modification or special equipment should be necessary for straightforward replacement.
  • Is this suitable for beginners, or is it only for experienced RC enthusiasts? — This is a spare part designed for owners of the RC10 '89 Stealth Car Masami Edition who need to replace a worn or damaged component. It is not a complete RC car and is best suited to experienced RC hobbyists with familiarity of RC buggy maintenance, assembly and setup. If you are new to RC cars, we recommend starting with a ready-to-run RC car package before undertaking component-level maintenance projects.
  • What is the heritage and significance of Masami Hirosaka's 1989 world championship victory? — Masami Hirosaka, born in Japan in 1970, is widely recognised as the most successful RC car racer of all time, with an unmatched record of 14 IFMAR World Championship titles across multiple scales and classes including 1/10 scale electric off-road (2WD and 4WD), 1/12 scale electric on-road, and touring car categories. His 1989 victory with the revolutionary Stealth Car prototype at just 19 years old was a turning point in RC racing history. Beyond his competitive success, Masami worked closely with manufacturers including Team Associated to advance RC technology and vehicle performance, leaving a lasting impact on the industry. Even after stepping away from top-level competition in the late 2000s, Masami remains active in the RC scene as a mentor and ambassador, and his 1989 Stealth Car victory remains one of the most iconic moments in RC racing history.
