RC Model Shop stocks this fluid because we know that UK RC competitors and enthusiasts refuse to compromise on quality—and neither should you.
Factory Team Silicone Fluids represent genuine innovation in RC chemistry. Laboratory-tested and blended from the highest quality materials available, these fluids provide more consistent differential action compared to inferior alternatives, whilst also delivering exceptional longevity. You'll experience stable performance lap after lap, session after session, giving you confidence in your setup and allowing you to focus on driving rather than worrying about fluid degradation.
Key Features
- Premium USA-Manufactured Silicone Blend — Produced exclusively for Team Associated by Lucas Oil Products, Inc., this fluid benefits from industrial-grade chemistry expertise and rigorous quality control standards that you simply won't find in generic differential oils. The USA manufacturing pedigree ensures consistency and reliability that matters when you're competing.
- Laboratory-Tested Formula — Every batch of Factory Team Silicone Fluid undergoes comprehensive laboratory testing to verify viscosity accuracy and performance characteristics. This scientific approach eliminates guesswork and guarantees that the fluid you purchase meets exact specifications, enabling precise setup changes and repeatability between sessions.
- 80,000cSt Viscosity Rating — This specific viscosity sits perfectly in the sweet spot for modern RC buggies and touring cars, providing balanced differential locking without excessive resistance or slipping. The 80K rating allows for fine-tuning your differential action whilst providing enough slip for smooth cornering and acceleration out of turns.
- Consistent Viscosity Performance — Formulated to maintain stable viscosity characteristics across varying temperatures and driving conditions, this fluid ensures your differential behaves predictably whether you're racing on a hot summer's day or during cooler spring sessions. Consistency is crucial for competitive setup development.
- Enhanced Differential Action and Longevity — The premium silicone composition delivers more consistent differential action compared to budget alternatives, meaning your diff will perform reliably session after session without degradation. You'll notice improved handling stability and more predictable power delivery to both wheels.
- New Flip-Top Cap Design — The improved flip-top cap makes filling your differential simpler and faster, reducing mess and spillage when servicing your RC car. This thoughtful design detail demonstrates that Factory Team considers the entire user experience, not just the fluid performance.
- Quick Identification Sticker — The convenient sticker on the lid helps you quickly locate the correct fluid when managing multiple viscosity options in your RC workshop. For serious competitors running different cars or different track conditions, this simple organisational feature saves time and prevents accidental mix-ups.
- Finer Tuning Options — These new silicone fluids allow for more granular differential setup adjustments than traditional fluid options, providing additional range when optimising your car's handling characteristics. Whether you need more lock-up or more slip, having the right viscosity available gives you tuning flexibility.
- Broad Vehicle Compatibility — This fluid is recommended for RC10T5M and RC8B3 models, with compatibility across numerous other Associated RC vehicles listed on this product page. Check your vehicle's service manual to confirm recommended differential fluid viscosity before purchasing.
Technical Performance
Factory Team Silicone Fluids represent the gold standard in RC differential oils, engineered specifically for modern competition RC cars where setup precision directly translates to lap time advantages. The 80,000cSt viscosity rating places this fluid in the middle of the viscosity spectrum, making it suitable for a broad range of track conditions and driving styles. When you're developing your RC car setup, differential fluid viscosity affects how your car behaves during acceleration, braking, and cornering—a lighter fluid allows more differential slip and smoother handling, whilst heavier fluids increase lock-up and mechanical grip. This mid-range 80K formulation gives you substantial tuning range in both directions, allowing you to dial in the perfect balance for your specific track surface, weather conditions, and driving technique. The laboratory-tested silicone composition maintains stable performance characteristics, resisting viscosity breakdown from heat generation and mechanical stress that occurs during competitive racing or aggressive bashing. High-quality silicone oils like this Factory Team formula resist oxidation and thermal degradation far better than cheaper mineral-based alternatives, ensuring your differential fluid remains effective throughout the season. The new flip-top cap design has been engineered for user convenience whilst maintaining proper sealing to prevent leakage or contamination. Every detail of this product has been considered by engineers who understand the demands of RC competition, from the precision of the viscosity rating to the practicality of the packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What viscosity differential fluid does my RC car need? — Differential fluid viscosity requirements vary by vehicle model, driving conditions, and setup preferences. The 80,000cSt rating in this fluid is mid-range and suitable for many modern RC buggies and touring cars. Always consult your vehicle's service manual or check with the manufacturer to confirm the recommended viscosity for your specific model. Associated recommends this fluid for models including the RC10T5M and RC8B3.
- Why is this silicone differential fluid better than cheaper alternatives? — This Factory Team formula is laboratory-tested, USA-manufactured by Lucas Oil Products, Inc., and formulated with premium silicone that maintains consistent viscosity better than budget alternatives. Cheaper mineral oils tend to break down faster under heat and stress, resulting in unpredictable differential action and poor performance consistency. When you're investing in an RC car and spending time developing your setup, using quality fluid ensures your differential behaves reliably and predictably.
- Is this suitable for both racing and recreational bashing? — Absolutely. Whether you're competing in UK RC racing events or enjoying weekend bashing sessions with friends, this fluid will serve you well. The consistent viscosity and premium formulation benefit both competitive drivers seeking performance advantages and recreational enthusiasts who simply want reliable, predictable handling. The broad compatibility across numerous Associated models means many UK RC enthusiasts can benefit from this fluid.
- How often should I change my differential fluid? — This depends on your usage frequency and driving conditions. Racing drivers typically change differential fluid more frequently than bashers, as competitive driving generates more heat and stress on the fluid. Regular inspection of your fluid—looking for discoloration, contamination, or viscosity changes—will tell you when replacement is needed. Generally, replacing differential fluid at the start of each racing season or after 10-15 hours of heavy use is prudent maintenance.
- Will this fluid work in other RC car brands besides Associated? — Many other RC cars use similar differential designs and may be compatible with 80,000cSt silicone fluid. However, always check your vehicle's service manual or contact the manufacturer before using this fluid in non-Associated vehicles. Different manufacturers sometimes recommend specific viscosity ranges or fluid types for optimal performance.
- What's the difference between silicone and mineral differential oils? — Silicone oils, like this Factory Team formula, offer superior thermal stability, better viscosity consistency across temperature ranges, and superior longevity compared to mineral oils. Silicone resists oxidation and viscosity breakdown far better, meaning your differential will perform more predictably throughout extended driving sessions. This is why competitive RC drivers prefer silicone oils for serious racing applications.
