Overview
The RPM Rear Bearing Carriers for 2WD Traxxas Models represent a significant upgrade for owners of the Traxxas Slash 2WD, e-Rustler, e-Stampede, and Bandit looking to enhance their RC car's performance and durability. If you're serious about your RC hobby in the UK and want to transform the rear suspension of your Traxxas vehicle, these bearing carriers deliver the kind of engineering excellence that separates casual bashers from dedicated enthusiasts. Unlike factory-standard bushings or weak undersized bearings, RPM's purpose-engineered bearing carriers allow you to install massive 5mm x 11mm bearings that dramatically improve performance whilst extending the intervals between maintenance periods.
RPM specialises in designing suspension components that don't compromise on strength or durability, and the Rear Bearing Carriers exemplify this commitment to quality. Whether you're upgrading your ready-to-run RC car or building a custom setup, these carriers represent a smart investment in longevity and performance. The product is manufactured from RPM's renowned bulletproof nylon blend, moulded in sleek black, and backed by a comprehensive guarantee against breakage. For RC enthusiasts across the UK looking to extract more from their Traxxas models, these bearing carriers are an essential upgrade that transforms the rear suspension system into something genuinely competitive and resilient.
The beauty of this upgrade lies in its simplicity and effectiveness. You're not just replacing worn components; you're fundamentally improving how your RC truck handles the stresses of serious driving. Whether you're tackling jumps, rough terrain, or competitive track days, RPM's Rear Bearing Carriers provide the foundation for a more responsive, more reliable rear end that won't let you down when it matters most.
Key Features
- Accepts 5mm x 11mm Bearings — These carriers are engineered to accommodate substantially larger 5mm x 11mm bearings compared to factory components, which means superior load handling and dramatically smoother wheel rotation that translates directly into faster lap times and improved handling characteristics on the track.
- Bulletproof Nylon Construction — Moulded from RPM's legendary blend of reinforced nylons, these carriers are virtually unbreakable under normal use, providing peace of mind that your investment will survive the punishment that RC driving demands, whether you're landing hard from jumps or bashing through rough terrain.
- Reduces Maintenance Intervals — The upgrade to proper bearings from bushings or weak stock components means you'll spend far less time servicing your RC car and more time driving it, as higher-quality bearings maintain their performance for considerably longer between maintenance sessions.
- Enhanced Suspension Rigidity — These bearing carriers work in conjunction with RPM's other suspension components (such as the rear A-arms) to eliminate flex and slop from the rear suspension system, creating a tighter, more responsive feel that serious RC drivers will immediately notice.
- Fits Multiple Traxxas 2WD Models — Compatible with the Traxxas Slash 2WD, e-Rustler, e-Stampede, and Bandit, these carriers are versatile enough to upgrade several vehicles in your fleet or serve as a future upgrade when you expand your RC collection.
- Black Colour Finish — The attractive black moulding matches OEM Traxxas components and other RPM parts, ensuring your RC car maintains a professional, cohesive appearance whilst receiving genuine performance upgrades.
- Lifetime Warranty Against Breakage — RPM stands behind the durability of these components with a limited lifetime warranty, reflecting the company's absolute confidence in the engineering and material quality of every part manufactured.
Technical Performance
These Rear Bearing Carriers represent a masterclass in purpose-engineered RC suspension upgrades. By enabling the installation of proper 5mm x 11mm ball bearings, RPM has created a component that transforms how the rear axle rotates and handles load transfer during aggressive driving. The stock Traxxas bushings and weak bearings found in many factory models simply cannot match the smooth, consistent rotation that precision ball bearings deliver. The carriers are moulded from a nearly indestructible nylon compound that RPM has perfected through years of development, ensuring that even under extreme stress—hard landings, high-speed cornering, or repeated impacts—the carriers maintain their structural integrity. The engineering philosophy behind these components focuses on eliminating play and flex in the rear suspension geometry, which is absolutely critical for achieving precise handling characteristics. When combined with other RPM suspension upgrades such as their rear A-arms for the Slash 2WD, you create a suspension system that delivers the tightness and responsiveness expected of competition-grade RC vehicles. The material science approach ensures that whilst strength is maximised, the overall weight remains reasonable, so you're not adding unnecessary mass that would compromise acceleration and braking performance. For serious RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand reliability from their Traxxas models, these bearing carriers provide the engineering foundation needed for confident, competitive driving.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Traxxas models are compatible with the RPM Rear Bearing Carriers? — These carriers are designed specifically for the Traxxas Slash 2WD, e-Rustler, e-Stampede, and Bandit. They will not fit the Nitro Slash, so it's essential to verify your model before purchasing. If you own one of the compatible 2WD models, this is a direct upgrade that requires no modification to your existing chassis.
- What bearings do I need to purchase separately? — You'll need a pair of 5mm x 11mm ball bearings, which are standard sizes readily available from RC hobby shops across the UK. These bearings are not included with the carriers, so factor this into your budget when planning the upgrade. The investment in quality bearings is worthwhile, as it directly impacts the smoothness and longevity of your rear axle assembly.
- Will these carriers improve my RC car's performance? — Absolutely. Upgrading from bushings or weak factory bearings to proper ball bearings provides noticeably smoother wheel rotation, reduced friction, and improved handling characteristics. You'll experience better acceleration response, more precise cornering, and the suspension will feel generally tighter and more responsive. For competitive drivers, this translates into measurably faster lap times.
- How durable are these bearing carriers? — RPM's Rear Bearing Carriers are moulded from a nearly indestructible nylon compound specifically engineered for durability. They're backed by a limited lifetime warranty against breakage, reflecting RPM's confidence in their engineering. Countless RC enthusiasts across the UK have reported these carriers surviving years of hard use without any structural failure, making them one of the most reliable suspension upgrades available.
- Can I use these carriers with the upper axle carrier hole? — No. RPM's engineering specifications recommend using only the original lower hinge pin location. The upper axle carrier hole should not be used, as it excessively lowers the rear ride height and compromises suspension geometry. If you need to lower your RC truck's rear end, RPM recommends using the outer shock mount hole positions in the A-arm instead, which maintains proper suspension balance.
- Are these suitable for beginners? — Whilst these carriers are suitable for all skill levels, they're particularly valued by experienced drivers and competitors who appreciate the performance gains. Beginners will certainly benefit from improved durability and reduced maintenance, though the performance advantages are more noticeable to drivers with developed car control skills. Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC maintenance experience.
- What's the difference between these and stock Traxxas rear carriers? — The primary difference is bearing capacity and design philosophy. Stock Traxxas carriers typically use bushings or undersized weak bearings that create friction and play in the suspension system. RPM's carriers accept full-size 5mm x 11mm ball bearings, which provide dramatically smoother rotation, reduced maintenance, and superior performance. Additionally, RPM's nylon construction is more durable than some factory alternatives, and the engineering is optimised specifically for each vehicle model rather than using multi-platform components.
