Whether you're running a small-scale monster truck, desert buggy, or truggy setup, this 59-tooth spur gear provides the robust performance needed for both recreational bashing and competitive racing applications.
Built from super-tough steel, this spur gear is engineered to withstand the extreme forces and stresses generated during high-performance RC driving. The 59-tooth configuration combined with the 0.5 module tooth design ensures smooth, consistent mesh with pinion gears, reducing wear and extending the lifespan of your entire drivetrain. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK seeking reliable replacement parts that maintain factory-level quality, the ARRMA CNC Steel Spur Gear 59T offers outstanding value and peace of mind knowing you're installing an OEM-approved component that will keep your RC model performing at its peak.
This spare part is compatible with multiple ARRMA small-scale models across different platforms and specifications. Whether you're maintaining a brushed or brushless RC vehicle, this spur gear integrates seamlessly into your existing drivetrain to restore performance and reliability when original components wear out through normal use or aggressive driving conditions.
Key Features
- CNC Machined Steel Construction — This spur gear is precision-manufactured from super-tough steel using advanced computer numerical control machining, which ensures every tooth is cut to exact specifications and provides exceptional durability that far exceeds plastic alternatives, making it ideal for demanding RC applications.
- 0.5 Module Tooth Configuration — The precision-engineered 0.5 module tooth design guarantees consistent and smooth meshing with compatible pinion gears, which reduces backlash, minimises wear on both components, and delivers reliable power transmission without slippage or noise during operation.
- 59-Tooth Configuration — The 59-tooth count is specifically engineered for the vehicles listed in the compatibility section, providing the optimal gear ratio for balanced acceleration, top speed, and torque delivery across these small-scale RC platforms.
- Long-Lasting Durability — Built from super-strong steel rather than nylon or plastic, this spur gear resists stripping, cracking and premature wear, allowing you to drive harder and faster without constantly replacing drivetrain components, delivering excellent value over time.
- OEM Replacement Part — As an official ARRMA spare component, this spur gear meets all factory specifications and quality standards, ensuring perfect compatibility and performance when you need to replace worn or damaged drivetrain components on your RC vehicle.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA CNC Steel Spur Gear 59T represents a significant upgrade path for RC car owners seeking to enhance drivetrain longevity and performance consistency. The steel construction provides substantially greater hardness and impact resistance compared to plastic gears, which matters significantly when you're driving on rough terrain, executing aggressive jumps, or running at high speeds where drivetrain forces are at their maximum. The CNC machining process ensures tolerances are maintained within extremely tight parameters, which directly translates to smooth, quiet operation and predictable power delivery regardless of driving conditions. The 0.5 module tooth profile is a precision specification that determines how the spur gear interfaces with your pinion gear — any variation in this measurement results in either excessive backlash (where the gears don't mesh tightly) or interference (where the gears bind). By manufacturing to exact CNC specifications, ARRMA ensures every tooth on this 59-tooth gear engages perfectly with your pinion, maximising efficiency and minimising noise and wear. This component is designed as a direct replacement for the OEM spur gear fitted to multiple ARRMA small-scale RC vehicles, meaning installation is straightforward and no modifications to your vehicle are required. The steel material maintains its integrity and performance across a wide temperature range, so whether you're driving in summer heat or cool winter conditions, this spur gear delivers consistent performance throughout its service life.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What ARRMA RC models is this spur gear compatible with? — This 59-tooth spur gear is compatible with the following ARRMA small-scale RC vehicles: Gorgon Grom 4x4 RTR (all colour variants), Mojave Grom 223S BLX 4x4 (both RTR with battery/charger and standard versions), Mojave Grom Mega 380 Brushed 4x4 Desert Truck RTR (all colour variants), Quake Grom 4x4 RTR Brushed Monster Truck (all colour variants), and Typhon Grom 223S BLX 4x4 (both RTR with battery/charger and standard versions), plus the Typhon Grom Mega 380 Brushed 4x4 Buggy RTR models. Please verify your specific model number before ordering to ensure compatibility.
- Is this steel spur gear better than plastic? — Yes, significantly. Steel gears offer substantially greater durability, impact resistance, and longevity compared to plastic alternatives. Steel resists stripping and cracking much better than nylon or plastic, making it the ideal choice for high-performance driving, aggressive bashing, and extended use. If you drive regularly or run your RC vehicle at high speeds and on challenging terrain, a steel spur gear will outlast plastic by a considerable margin and provide more consistent performance throughout its lifespan.
- How do I know when I need to replace my spur gear? — Common signs that your spur gear needs replacement include visible damage to the teeth (such as chipping, cracking or flattening), grinding or metallic noises during acceleration, slippage where the motor spins but the vehicle doesn't accelerate properly, or a noticeable loss of power transmission efficiency. If you notice any of these symptoms, it's time to install a replacement spur gear. Regular inspection of your drivetrain components will help you identify wear before complete failure occurs.
- Do I need special tools to install this spur gear? — Installation requirements depend on your specific ARRMA model. Most ARRMA small-scale vehicles feature easily accessible spur gears that can be removed and replaced with basic hand tools (typically a hex wrench or Allen key). Consult your vehicle's user manual or our customer service team for detailed installation instructions specific to your model. Removing the spur gear typically involves accessing the rear gearbox or transmission area and unbolting the gear from its mounting point.
- What is the 0.5 module specification and why does it matter? — Module is a precision specification that defines the size and spacing of gear teeth. The 0.5 module indicates teeth are sized to mesh perfectly with compatible pinion gears used on ARRMA vehicles. If you install a spur gear with incorrect module specifications, it won't mesh properly with your pinion gear, resulting in either excessive backlash (loose, rattling gears) or binding (gears jamming). By specifying 0.5 module, ARRMA ensures perfect engagement and smooth operation.
- Can I use this gear on other RC car brands? — No, this spur gear is engineered specifically for ARRMA small-scale RC models listed in the compatibility section. Using this gear on non-ARRMA vehicles or ARRMA models not listed in the compatibility specifications may result in improper fit, poor mesh with the pinion gear, or potential drivetrain damage. Always verify compatibility with your specific vehicle before purchasing replacement components.
