Key Features
- Genuine Futaba OEM Component — This battery is manufactured by Futaba, not a third-party clone manufacturer, meaning you receive the exact same quality, chemistry and performance characteristics that Futaba engineers designed and tested for your radio system, ensuring complete compatibility and reliability.
- 7.2V Voltage Output — The battery delivers a precise 7.2V nominal voltage, which is the exact voltage specification required by Futaba 8FG and 12FG transmitters for optimal performance, ensuring your radio operates at peak efficiency without overvoltage or undervoltage issues.
- 1800mAh Capacity — With a substantial 1800 milliamp-hour capacity, this battery pack provides extended runtime between charges, allowing you to enjoy longer sessions with your RC car, RC truck or RC aircraft without constantly returning to recharge during the day.
- NiMH Chemistry — The battery uses nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) chemistry, which is proven, reliable and forgiving chemistry that doesn't require the complex management systems that lithium batteries need, making it straightforward and safe to charge and store.
- Futaba Connector — The battery features an authentic Futaba connector plug that ensures a secure, reliable electrical connection to your transmitter's battery compartment, with no adapters or modifications required for a perfect fit.
- High-Visibility Orange Casing — The distinctive bright orange casing makes this battery immediately recognisable in your field box, preventing accidental mix-ups with other batteries and making it easy to locate quickly when you need to swap or charge during your RC sessions.
- Straightforward Installation — Simply insert the battery pack into your transmitter's battery compartment and secure the connector; no special tools, adapters or technical knowledge is required, making this an ideal replacement for any RC enthusiast.
Technical Performance
The Futaba HT6F1800B represents decades of battery manufacturing expertise applied to the specific requirements of Futaba radio control systems. The 7.2V output is achieved through six nickel-metal hydride cells arranged in series, each contributing 1.2V to the total voltage. This voltage specification has been refined through years of Futaba transmitter design and is precisely what the 8FG and 12FG radio systems expect from their battery packs. The 1800mAh capacity provides substantial energy storage in a compact form factor, allowing your transmitter to operate for extended periods without needing to return to base for charging. NiMH chemistry offers several advantages over lithium alternatives: the cells are robust and can tolerate overcharging with minimal damage, they don't suffer from the memory effect issues that older nickel-cadmium batteries experienced if you simply top them up between sessions, and they perform reliably across a wide range of temperatures encountered in UK RC flying and driving conditions. The Futaba connector is precision-engineered to provide a secure connection with minimal contact resistance, ensuring that the full voltage and current delivery from the battery reaches your transmitter without losses. The orange casing isn't just for visibility — it's made from durable plastic that protects the internal cells from mechanical damage whilst remaining lightweight. The overall shipping weight of just 0.19kg (0.42lb) keeps your transmitter balanced and comfortable to hold during extended RC sessions, whether you're piloting an RC aircraft or operating an RC vehicle from the driving position.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Futaba HT6F1800B compatible with my Futaba 8FG or 12FG transmitter? — Yes, this battery pack is specifically designed for the Futaba 8FG and 12FG radio systems. It features the correct 7.2V voltage specification and the genuine Futaba connector that plugs directly into these transmitter models. However, we always recommend checking your specific radio's requirements and connector type before installation to ensure complete compatibility with your particular unit.
- How long will this battery last on a single charge? — The runtime depends on your transmitter model and how much you're using the servos and receiving system, but the 1800mAh capacity is substantial enough to provide several hours of continuous operation under normal RC flying or driving conditions. Most users find that one charged battery pack is sufficient for a full day's RC sessions, with occasional top-ups if you're running back-to-back activities.
- How do I charge this NiMH battery pack? — NiMH batteries like the HT6F1800B can be charged using a standard Futaba transmitter charger or any quality NiMH charger capable of handling 6-cell packs at appropriate charge rates. Many UK RC enthusiasts use dedicated NiMH chargers available from specialist RC retailers. Always follow your charger's instructions and never leave the battery unattended while charging.
- Why is this more expensive than aftermarket transmitter batteries I've seen online? — This is a genuine Futaba OEM component manufactured to exact specifications by Futaba themselves, whereas budget aftermarket batteries are third-party products that may not meet Futaba's quality standards. The genuine battery ensures reliable operation, maintains your transmitter's performance characteristics and protects your investment in quality radio control equipment. Many experienced RC enthusiasts in the UK choose genuine Futaba batteries for critical components like transmitter batteries where reliability directly affects your ability to control your RC car, truck or aircraft.
- Is this battery suitable for beginners starting their RC hobby? — Yes, absolutely. If you've just purchased a Futaba 8FG or 12FG transmitter as your first radio control system, this battery pack is the ideal choice because it's the OEM part specified by Futaba for these transmitters. Beginning RC enthusiasts benefit from using genuine components that are proven to work perfectly with their equipment, eliminating compatibility questions and ensuring they can focus on learning to control their RC vehicle rather than troubleshooting battery issues.
- Can I use this battery in any RC car, truck or aircraft, or just with Futaba transmitters? — This battery pack is specifically designed as a replacement for the transmitter battery in your Futaba radio control system. It is not suitable for use as a receiver battery, drive battery for an RC car, power source for an RC aircraft's main propulsion system, or any other purpose outside of powering your Futaba 8FG or 12FG transmitter. Always use the correct battery type specified by the manufacturer for each component of your RC system.
