Key Features
- 6-Cell 7.2V Configuration — The 6-cell arrangement delivers a nominal voltage of 7.2V, which is the standard voltage specification for countless RC vehicles currently in use throughout the UK. This voltage level provides excellent compatibility with existing ESCs and motors designed for medium-power applications.
- 2600mAh Capacity — With 2600mAh of stored energy, this battery pack delivers sufficient runtime for extended play sessions and practice runs. The capacity-to-weight ratio makes it suitable for vehicles where weight is a consideration, whilst still providing substantial power delivery for consistent performance throughout the charge cycle.
- SC Cell Size — The SC cell size is a proven standard in RC hobby applications, offering the right balance between power output, weight, and overall dimensions. SC cells fit readily into most traditional RC battery trays and compartments, ensuring straightforward installation without modification.
- Tamiya Connector — The factory-fitted Tamiya connector ensures plug-and-play compatibility with the vast majority of RC cars, buggies, and vehicles currently in use across the UK market. This universal standard connector eliminates the need for adapter cables or soldering work, allowing you to get your vehicle running immediately upon receipt.
- Nickel Chemistry Construction — Built using proven Nickel Metal Hydride chemistry, this battery offers predictable discharge curves, excellent cycle life, and reliable performance across a wide temperature range. NiMH technology has been trusted by RC enthusiasts for decades, delivering consistent power delivery you can depend on.
- Stick Configuration — The stick pack design keeps the battery compact and organised, making it easy to store, transport, and install in your RC vehicle. The linear arrangement of cells minimises the overall footprint whilst maintaining excellent structural integrity during high-vibration RC activities.
- Professional Black Finish — The durable black exterior provides a clean, professional appearance whilst offering protection against minor scuffs and marks that come with regular use. The finish is consistent with modern RC aesthetic standards.
- 350g Weight — At 350 grams, this battery pack provides substantial power without adding excessive weight to your RC vehicle. The weight is distributed along the stick configuration, which can be positioned to optimise your vehicle's weight distribution and handling characteristics.
Technical Performance
The Radient NiMH 7.2V 2600mAh SC Stick delivers consistent technical performance through a carefully engineered combination of proven battery chemistry and robust construction. The 6-cell configuration produces the standard 7.2V nominal output that has become the universal baseline for medium-powered RC vehicles across the hobby sector. With 2600mAh of capacity, the battery sustains discharge rates suitable for both electric-powered RC cars and other applications requiring stable, moderate-to-high power delivery. The SC cell size has been refined through years of RC hobby use to provide the optimal balance between internal resistance, current delivery capability, and cell longevity. The Nickel Metal Hydride chemistry used in this pack is renowned amongst RC enthusiasts for its ability to handle demanding discharge cycles whilst maintaining voltage stability throughout the run. Unlike some battery technologies that exhibit dramatic voltage sag under high current draw, NiMH cells provide a more gradual discharge curve, which translates to more predictable vehicle performance as the battery depletes. The Tamiya connector has become the industry standard across countless RC manufacturers, ensuring this battery will integrate seamlessly with your existing equipment without modification. The physical dimensions of the stick pack are optimised for traditional RC vehicle battery compartments, whilst the 350-gram mass represents an appropriate weight for medium-scale RC applications. The construction quality reflects Radient's commitment to reliability, with proper cell balancing, protective circuitry consideration in the design, and manufacturing standards that have proven themselves through thousands of user applications across the UK RC community.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Radient NiMH 7.2V 2600mAh SC Stick suitable for my RC car UK? — This battery is compatible with any RC vehicle equipped with a Tamiya connector and designed to accept 7.2V battery power. The vast majority of RC cars, buggies, and trucks sold in the UK in recent years use the Tamiya connector standard, making this battery an excellent universal choice. If your vehicle currently uses a 7.2V NiMH battery with a Tamiya connector, this Radient pack will be a direct replacement or upgrade.
- How long will this battery run for? — Runtime depends on your specific vehicle's motor size, gearing, driving style, and terrain. Generally, a 2600mAh capacity battery will provide 15-45 minutes of active running time, with heavier vehicles and more aggressive driving reducing the upper end of that estimate. For precise runtime expectations, check your vehicle's motor specifications and power consumption data, then consult capacity calculators or seek advice from our experienced team at RC Model Shop.
- What charger do I need for this battery? — As a NiMH battery pack, you'll need a charger specifically designed for NiMH batteries, often called an NiMH charger or multi-chemistry charger. Many RC enthusiasts already own suitable chargers; however, ensure your charger supports 6-cell NiMH packs (7.2V) and the Tamiya connector format. Do not attempt to charge this battery using LiPo-only chargers, as NiMH chemistry requires different charging protocols.
- Is NiMH better than LiPo? — NiMH and LiPo batteries each offer distinct advantages. NiMH chemistry is more forgiving if you forget to discharge the battery properly between uses, is less susceptible to damage from over-discharging, requires less specialised charging equipment, and is more tolerant of storage conditions. LiPo batteries generally offer higher energy density and lighter weight for the same capacity. For beginners or those seeking straightforward, low-maintenance power, NiMH remains an excellent choice used across countless RC vehicles worldwide.
- Can I use this battery with a ready to run RC car? — Yes, provided your ready to run RC model is equipped with a Tamiya connector and is designed to operate on 7.2V power. Most ready to run RC cars UK retailers stock vehicles compatible with standard 7.2V NiMH packs. Always verify your specific model's battery specification before purchase to ensure compatibility.
- How should I store this battery? — NiMH batteries should be stored in a cool, dry location at room temperature. Unlike LiPo batteries, NiMH packs do not require special storage charge states or fireproof containers. However, it is good practice to avoid storing fully discharged batteries for extended periods; ideally, store this battery at a mid-range charge state if you won't be using it for several weeks. Keep the battery away from extreme heat and moisture.
- What is the weight of this battery pack? — The Radient NiMH 7.2V 2600mAh SC Stick weighs 350 grams (12.35 ounces), which is a moderate weight appropriate for medium-scale RC vehicles. The stick configuration distributes this weight linearly, allowing you to position the battery in your vehicle to optimise weight distribution and handling characteristics.
- Is this battery safe for beginners? — Yes, NiMH technology is considered one of the safest battery chemistries for RC use. It is significantly more forgiving than LiPo technology, does not suffer from thermal runaway concerns if overcharged, and is less prone to damage from accidental deep discharge. This makes NiMH an excellent choice for beginners who are still learning battery management practices. Always follow basic safety guidelines, such as charging in a safe location and avoiding physical damage to the battery pack.
