Overview
The Logic RC Silicone Wire 10AWG is a professional-grade wiring solution designed for high-current applications in RC vehicles and hobby electronics. This premium silicone-insulated cable provides two separate 1-metre lengths—one black and one red—allowing you to clearly identify positive and negative power runs throughout your RC setup. Whether you're building a high-performance brushless RC car UK or wiring up complex RC electronics, this heavy-gauge cable delivers the durability and flexibility needed for demanding installations where reliable power distribution is critical. The robust 10AWG specification makes this wire ideal for systems requiring substantial current capacity, particularly in larger-scale RC models, electric motors, and advanced ESC configurations.
Silicone insulation offers significant advantages over standard PVC alternatives, providing superior flexibility at various temperatures, enhanced tear resistance, and better overall durability during installation and use. For RC enthusiasts in the UK working with high-current ready to run RC setups or custom-built systems, this Logic RC silicone wire has become a trusted choice. The colour-coded design—black for negative, red for positive—eliminates guesswork during assembly and troubleshooting, reducing installation errors and improving safety. RC Model Shop stocks this essential wiring component because we understand that quality cabling is fundamental to reliable RC performance, whether you're a weekend basher or a serious competitor.
Each length features an impressive 1050 copper strands providing excellent conductivity and flexibility, wrapped in high-quality silicone insulation with an outer diameter of 5.5mm. This construction allows the wire to bend and route around tight spaces in RC chassis whilst maintaining consistent electrical performance under load. The generous metre length of each colour gives you ample material for extensive wiring runs, making this particularly valuable for larger RC vehicles or complex multi-component installations.
Key Features
- 10AWG Gauge Rating — This heavy-gauge specification delivers superior current-carrying capacity compared to thinner wires, making it suitable for high-power applications including brushless motor systems, large battery packs, and multiple electronic components drawing significant current simultaneously without voltage drop or heat generation.
- 1050 Copper Strands — The exceptionally high strand count provides exceptional flexibility and workability, allowing the cable to bend smoothly around complex routing paths inside RC chassis without kinking or breaking, whilst maintaining excellent electrical conductivity for reliable power delivery.
- Silicone Insulation — Premium silicone material offers superior performance compared to standard plastic insulation, resisting UV damage, temperature extremes, fuel contamination, and mechanical abrasion that would degrade lesser cables over time.
- Colour-Coded Design — Black and red insulation clearly identifies negative and positive conductors, enabling safe, accurate assembly and reducing the risk of reversed polarity during installation or maintenance, particularly valuable when working with high-current systems.
- 5.5mm Outer Diameter — The substantial cable diameter accommodates the 1050-strand construction whilst remaining flexible and routeable through tight spaces, providing a practical balance between current capacity and workability in confined RC chassis layouts.
- One Metre of Each Colour — The dual-colour package delivers two full metres of premium cabling—one metre black, one metre red—providing adequate material for comprehensive wiring of multiple power runs, battery connections, and component interconnections in advanced RC installations.
Technical Performance
The Logic RC Silicone Wire 10AWG represents professional-quality power distribution for serious RC applications. The 10AWG gauge specification is specifically engineered for high-current scenarios, delivering significantly better performance than smaller gauges when powering brushless motor systems, multiple ESCs, or complex electronic layouts. The 1050-strand copper construction provides excellent electrical conductivity whilst the silicone insulation ensures durability across temperature ranges and environmental conditions encountered in RC operation. Unlike lower-cost PVC-insulated alternatives, silicone maintains flexibility even when cold, resists fuel and nitro fuel contamination, and withstands repeated flexing during installation and use without cracking. The 5.5mm outer diameter accommodates this generous strand count and insulation thickness, making the cable substantial and visible during assembly—a safety feature that helps prevent accidental damage to connections. For UK RC enthusiasts building or upgrading high-performance systems, this wire provides the reliability and performance expected from Logic RC's engineering standards. The colour-coded design ensures polarity safety, whilst the flexibility of silicone insulation permits routing through complex RC chassis without requiring additional conduit or protection.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does 10AWG mean and is this wire suitable for high-power RC applications? — AWG (American Wire Gauge) is the standard measurement for wire diameter and current capacity; 10AWG is a heavy-gauge specification designed for high-current applications. This wire is specifically suitable for powering brushless motor systems, connecting high-capacity battery packs, and wiring multiple electronic components that demand substantial current delivery without voltage drop or overheating.
- What is the difference between silicone insulation and standard plastic insulation? — Silicone insulation offers superior durability, flexibility across temperature ranges, resistance to fuel and chemical contamination, and resistance to UV damage compared to standard PVC insulation. For demanding RC applications, particularly in high-temperature environments or where fuel exposure is possible, silicone-insulated cable delivers longer service life and more reliable performance.
- Is one metre of each colour sufficient for my RC vehicle? — For most RC applications, two metres total (one metre black, one metre red) provides adequate material for comprehensive wiring of battery connections, motor leads, ESC connections, and distribution to multiple components. However, larger-scale models or vehicles requiring extended power distribution runs may benefit from ordering multiple sets.
- How should I prepare and connect this wire to my RC components? — Both soldering and crimp connectors are suitable connection methods. For solder connections, strip approximately 5-10mm of insulation from each end, tin with solder, and solder to component terminals before covering with heatshrink tubing. For crimp connectors, use an appropriate crimping tool with connectors rated for 10AWG wire. Regardless of method, always verify correct polarity (black to negative, red to positive) before powering your system.
- Will this silicone wire work with my existing RC batteries and ESCs? — Yes, 10AWG silicone wire is compatible with virtually all RC systems and will work with any battery voltage or ESC rating. The wire's current-carrying capacity of 10AWG makes it suitable for high-performance setups including 8S LiPo batteries, multiple brushless motors, and high-current ESCs used in competition-grade ready to run RC cars and other high-performance models.
- Can I use this wire for both vehicle wiring and stationary installations? — Absolutely. Beyond RC vehicle applications, 10AWG silicone wire is commonly used for workbench power distribution, charging station wiring, and other demanding electrical applications where high current capacity and durability are required.
