Technical Performance
The Radient RDNAC010127 balance lead extension represents solid engineering focused on solving real-world problems that RC enthusiasts encounter daily. The 24AWG wire gauge has been specifically selected for 2S LiPo applications, providing the optimal balance between current-carrying capacity and flexibility for easy connection and disconnection. The Deans (HCT) connector specification ensures low-resistance electrical connection, which is critical when charging lithium polymer batteries where any unnecessary voltage drop can result in incomplete cell balancing. The shipping weight of just 0.01 kg demonstrates the lightweight construction approach, meaning this adapter won't add appreciable bulk to your charging kit or RC travel bag. The compact form factor makes it particularly suitable for club racers and weekend bashers who need to maintain multiple battery configurations without excessive clutter. For RC operators across the UK who rely on EFlite balance leads but have invested in XH-format chargers—a common scenario given the variety of brands and equipment in the market—this adapter provides the essential bridge that makes mixed equipment setups functional and safe.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does a balance lead extension do and why do I need one? — A balance lead extension allows you to connect your EFlite 2S LiPo battery's balance connector to a charger with different balance port specifications, such as the XH format. This is essential because it enables safe, cell-balanced charging which ensures both cells in your 2S pack charge to equal voltage levels, preventing overcharging one cell and extending overall battery lifespan significantly.
- Is this balance lead suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. If you're new to RC and are assembling your first charging station or expanding your battery collection, this adapter removes the frustration of incompatible connectors. The age recommendation of 14+ indicates it's suitable for teenagers and adults, and it requires no special knowledge to use—simply connect your EFlite balance lead to this adapter, then connect the adapter to your XH-equipped charger.
- What is the difference between this adapter and just using any balance lead? — This specific adapter is engineered to bridge EFlite and XH balance connectors, ensuring proper polarity and secure mechanical connection. Using incorrect adapters or makeshift solutions risks improper charging, cell imbalance, and potentially dangerous battery conditions. This Radient adapter provides the safety and reliability that professional RC operators demand.
- Can I use this with all 2S LiPo batteries? — This adapter is specifically designed to work with EFlite 2S LiPo batteries and chargers using standard XH balance ports. If your EFlite battery has a balance connector and your charger has an XH balance port, this is the correct solution. Always verify your specific equipment's connector types before ordering.
- What does 24AWG mean and why does it matter? — AWG stands for American Wire Gauge, with 24AWG indicating the wire thickness. For 2S balance charging (which involves very low currents—typically under 1 amp—flowing through the balance connector), 24AWG provides adequate conductivity whilst remaining flexible and lightweight. This is the appropriate specification for balance lead applications, different from the heavier gauge power leads that handle main discharge current.
