Technical Performance
The Radient XT60 Male with Cap End connectors deliver consistent electrical performance across a wide range of RC applications. XT60 connectors are engineered to handle substantial current loads typical of modern brushless ESC systems used in RC cars, trucks, buggies, crawlers, and aircraft. The male connector configuration is specifically designed for ESC-to-battery connections, where the connector interfaces with female XT60 sockets on your RC battery packs. The gold-plated contact surfaces ensure minimal electrical resistance and reliable power transfer, which is critical when running high-discharge LiPo batteries through demanding brushless motors. Whether you're using 2S, 3S, 4S, or higher LiPo configurations, these XT60 connectors provide a safe and secure connection point. The protective cap design prevents moisture ingress and accidental contact, extending the operational life of your connectors and maintaining safety standards during storage. The connector's robust mechanical design ensures positive engagement with female XT60 sockets, preventing accidental disconnection during aggressive RC driving or flying. These connectors are suitable for use across the entire RC hobby spectrum, from casual weekend flying and driving to competitive racing applications where reliability is paramount.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are XT60 connectors and why are they used in RC models? — XT60 connectors are industry-standard power connectors widely adopted across RC vehicles, aircraft, and drones. They feature a secure locking mechanism that prevents accidental disconnection during use, gold-plated contacts for reliable power transfer, and a compact design suitable for high-current applications. XT60 connectors have become the standard because they can safely handle the power demands of modern brushless ESC systems and high-discharge LiPo batteries.
- Are these connectors suitable for beginners? — These connectors are recommended for hobbyists aged 14 and above with basic soldering experience. If you're new to RC and haven't soldered before, you may want to practice soldering technique on scrap wire before working with these connectors. Many RC Model Shop customers find that soldering XT60 connectors is a straightforward and rewarding skill to learn, opening up opportunities for custom builds and repairs across your RC collection.
- What is the difference between XT60 male and female connectors? — The male XT60 connectors have the protruding contacts and are designed to be soldered to ESC power leads, whilst female XT60 connectors are soldered to battery packs. The male end plugs into the female socket, creating a secure connection. This pack contains male connectors specifically configured for ESC end installation.
- Can I use these connectors with any XT60 battery? — Yes, these male XT60 connectors are universally compatible with any XT60 female socket found on battery packs, battery chargers, and power distribution boards regardless of manufacturer, as long as the battery uses the standard XT60 connector type.
- What soldering skills do I need to install these connectors? — Basic soldering ability is required to attach these connectors to your ESC power leads. You'll need a soldering iron (typically 30-40W for connector work), solder, and a desoldering tool or solder wick for cleanup. Many RC enthusiasts with minimal soldering experience successfully install XT60 connectors by following simple online guides or receiving advice from experienced RC hobbyists at local RC clubs.
- Why should I buy spare connectors? — Having spare XT60 connectors is invaluable for RC hobbyists who regularly build, modify, or repair multiple models. Connectors can wear over time with repeated connection and disconnection, or may be damaged during assembly work. This five-pack ensures you always have replacements available without waiting for shipping, keeping your RC hobby uninterrupted.
- How do I properly solder an XT60 connector? — Clean the ESC power leads with sandpaper or a wire stripper, tin the leads with a small amount of solder, then apply heat and solder to join the connector's internal contacts to the tinned wire leads. Use a wet sponge to clean your soldering iron between joints, work quickly to avoid excessive heat exposure, and allow the solder joint to cool naturally before handling.
