Overview
The Radient Charge Lead, 4mm Bullet to XT30 Male connector, is an essential charging cable for RC enthusiasts across the UK who operate modern electric RC cars, trucks, and aircraft. This 150mm charge lead has been designed to bridge the gap between your charger's standard 4mm bullet connectors and your electronic speed controller (ESC) equipped with an XT30 male connector. Whether you're running a brushless RC buggy, a high-performance RC monster truck, or any other electric RC vehicle with XT30-equipped electronics, this charge lead ensures safe, efficient power delivery during the charging process. The combination of professional-grade connectors and robust construction makes this an indispensable addition to any RC model shop enthusiast's toolkit, particularly for those who demand reliability and compatibility across multiple RC platforms.
For serious RC hobbyists in the UK, whether you're competing at the weekend or bashing with friends, having the correct charging infrastructure is absolutely critical. The Radient Charge Lead eliminates compatibility issues and reduces the risk of connection failures during charging sessions. This particular configuration—4mm bullet connectors on the charger end and XT30 male on the ESC end—represents one of the most common charging setups in modern RC applications. By investing in quality charge leads like this Radient unit, you ensure that your RC cars, trucks, and other electric models maintain peak performance and receive proper charge cycles without risk of power loss or dangerous connection failures.
Radient has established itself as a trusted brand within the RC community, and this charge lead exemplifies the quality and attention to detail that professionals expect. The 18AWG wire gauge provides the appropriate balance between flexibility and current-carrying capacity for typical RC charging scenarios, whilst the 150mm length offers convenient positioning without excessive cable management challenges. This is the type of accessory that separates organised, professional RC operations from chaotic workshop setups—it's an investment in reliability that pays dividends every single time you charge your RC models.
Key Features
- 4mm Bullet to XT30 Male Configuration — The charge lead features industry-standard 4mm bullet connectors on the charger end and professional XT30 male connectors on the ESC end, ensuring seamless compatibility with modern RC electronic speed controllers and quality RC chargers across the UK hobby market.
- 18AWG Wire Gauge — The 18 American Wire Gauge specification provides the optimal balance between current-carrying capacity and cable flexibility, ensuring safe power delivery during charging cycles without excessive voltage drop or overheating risk to your RC model's electronics.
- 150mm Length — The 150mm cable length (approximately 6 inches) is measured from the charger end, providing practical reach for typical RC charging setups without creating unwieldy loops of excess cable or requiring extended reach across workshop benches.
- Professional Radient Brand Quality — Manufactured by Radient, a recognised and trusted name in RC electronics and accessories, this charge lead meets the quality standards expected by serious RC enthusiasts and competition-grade RC operators across the United Kingdom.
- Durable Connector Construction — Both the 4mm bullet connectors and XT30 male connector are constructed to withstand repeated connection cycles, ensuring years of reliable service across numerous RC charging sessions and different RC vehicles in your fleet.
- Safe Charging Solution — Using a properly matched charge lead like this eliminates the risk of loose connections, power loss, or potential safety hazards that can occur when attempting to adapt incompatible connector types on your RC model's charger and ESC.
Technical Performance
The Radient Charge Lead represents a straightforward but essential component in the RC charging ecosystem. The 18AWG wire gauge is specifically engineered to handle the amperage typical of modern RC battery charging scenarios without excessive resistive heating or voltage drop. The 4mm bullet connectors on the charger end are universally recognised and compatible with virtually all quality RC chargers available in the UK market, from budget-friendly entry-level units to professional-grade competition chargers. The XT30 male connector on the ESC end connects directly into the charging port of modern electronic speed controllers, eliminating the need for adapter cables or risky improvised connections. The 150mm length is measured specifically from the charger end (as designated in the product specification), providing adequate cable length for practical workshop use whilst remaining compact enough for storage and transport. The combination of these specifications—the 18AWG wire gauge, the robust 4mm and XT30 connectors, and the practical 150mm length—creates a charge lead that performs consistently across countless RC charging cycles, whether you're charging 2S LiPo batteries for lightweight RC drones and helicopters, or higher-capacity packs for ground-based RC buggies, monster trucks, and off-road RC crawlers. This is precisely the type of infrastructure investment that separates experienced RC operators from casual enthusiasts, as it ensures predictable, safe charging every single time without the risk of connection failures or compatibility problems that plague poorly matched cable assemblies.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the XT30 connector and why is it important for my RC model? — The XT30 is a standardised connector type used on many modern electronic speed controllers in RC vehicles. It's designed to provide a safe, low-resistance connection for charging circuits. Using a charge lead specifically designed with the correct XT30 male connector ensures you have a proper fit without adapters, reducing the risk of loose connections or power loss during charging. Many modern brushless RC cars, trucks, and aircraft rely on XT30-equipped ESCs, making this connector type increasingly important in contemporary RC setups across the UK.
- Is this charge lead suitable for all my RC vehicles? — This charge lead is compatible with any RC model that has an electronic speed controller (ESC) with an XT30 male charging port, including RC buggies, monster trucks, RC crawlers, and other electric RC vehicles. However, you'll need to verify that your charger has 4mm bullet connectors. If your charger uses different connectors, you may need an alternative charge lead configuration. Always check your specific RC model's documentation and your charger specifications before purchasing.
- What does 18AWG wire gauge mean and why does it matter? — AWG (American Wire Gauge) is a standardised measurement of wire thickness. 18AWG is a medium-gauge wire that provides the optimal balance between current-carrying capacity and flexibility for typical RC charging applications. Thicker wire (lower AWG number) would be unnecessarily rigid; thinner wire (higher AWG number) could overheat during charging. The 18AWG specification ensures safe, efficient power delivery to your RC model's battery during charging sessions without risk of overheating or voltage loss.
- Why is having a proper charge lead important compared to using adapters? — A purpose-built charge lead like this Radient unit eliminates connection points where adapters would introduce resistance, loose connections, or potential points of failure. Adapters can shift during charging, creating intermittent power loss or safety hazards. A dedicated charge lead with proper XT30 male and 4mm bullet connectors ensures a secure, stable connection throughout your charging cycle, particularly important when charging high-capacity LiPo batteries used in modern RC cars and trucks. This is why serious RC competitors and professional operators always use proper charge leads rather than improvised adapter chains.
- Can I use this with different types of RC batteries? — This charge lead is a connector interface only—it doesn't determine battery compatibility. Your charger and ESC determine what battery types and voltages are compatible. The XT30 connector on this lead connects to your ESC's charging port, which then connects to whatever battery type your specific RC model is designed for (2S, 3S, 4S LiPo, NiMH, etc.). Always ensure your charger, this lead, and your battery are properly matched through your RC model's documentation.
- Is the 150mm length adequate for my RC charging setup? — The 150mm length (measured from the charger end) provides practical reach for most typical RC workshop setups, allowing your charger to sit on a work surface whilst the cable reaches to your RC model or battery positioned nearby. If you require longer reach, you may need to position your charger differently or consider a longer charge lead separately. Most RC enthusiasts find 150mm adequate for benchtop charging operations in the UK.
