Overview

The Traxxas Toe links (moulded composite) (78mm centre to center) (2) (assembled with hollow balls) (for use with #9180 or 9181 upgrade kit) TRX9196 are essential suspension upgrade components designed for Traxxas Rustler stadium truck models. Whether you're a seasoned RC enthusiast looking to fine-tune your vehicle's handling characteristics or a newcomer to the world of RC car UK hobby, these toe links represent a genuine Traxxas upgrade that can significantly improve your model's on-track performance. As an authorised Traxxas dealer, RC Model Shop supplies only genuine components to ensure compatibility and reliability with your RC vehicles.

Toe links are critical suspension components that control the angle of the front wheels relative to the vehicle's centreline. By adjusting toe-in or toe-out settings using upgraded components like these, drivers can optimise their RC truck's steering response, cornering stability and overall handling characteristics. These moulded composite toe links are specifically engineered to work with the #9180 or #9181 upgrade kits, making them an ideal choice for Rustler owners looking to enhance their vehicle's suspension geometry and performance on the track or at the bash spot.

The hollow ball design provides smooth articulation whilst maintaining structural integrity, and the moulded composite construction offers an excellent balance between durability and lightweight performance. For anyone serious about getting the most from their Traxxas Rustler, whether you run a brushless RC stadium truck or the standard XL-5 electric version, these toe links deliver the precision engineering you'd expect from a manufacturer recognised worldwide for innovation in RC technology.

Key Features

  • Moulded composite construction — The toe links are manufactured from high-quality moulded composite material, which provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio and exceptional durability during aggressive driving and racing conditions. This material choice ensures the components won't easily crack or break under the demands of competitive racing or casual bashing.
  • 78mm centre to center measurement — The precise 78mm dimension between the mounting points ensures perfect compatibility with the Traxxas #9180 and #9181 upgrade kits, guaranteeing accurate suspension geometry adjustments without the need for modification or additional tuning components.
  • Hollow ball assembly — Pre-assembled with hollow balls, these toe links allow for smooth articulation and precise steering input response, giving you fine control over your RC truck's directional changes and cornering behaviour throughout your driving session.
  • Complete pair included — You receive two toe links (one pair), which is exactly what you need for proper front suspension setup on your Traxxas Rustler, eliminating the need to purchase multiple sets or order separately.
  • Genuine Traxxas component — As an official Traxxas spare part, this component is engineered to the same specifications as your vehicle's original parts, ensuring perfect fit and optimal performance when integrated into your upgrade kit.
  • Compatible with upgrade kits #9180 and #9181 — Specifically designed to work seamlessly with these Traxxas upgrade kits, these toe links integrate perfectly into your suspension modifications without requiring any adaptations or workarounds.

Technical Performance

The TRX9196 toe links represent Traxxas's commitment to precision engineering in RC suspension components. At 78mm centre to center, they deliver exact geometric positioning that's crucial for optimising the handling characteristics of your Rustler brushless or XL-5 electric stadium truck. The moulded composite material has been selected specifically for its combination of rigidity and impact resistance, crucial properties when you're pushing your RC truck through rapid direction changes, acceleration, and braking events. The hollow ball design featured in this assembly is engineered to provide smooth, consistent movement whilst maintaining the precise toe-in or toe-out angles you've set for your vehicle. This is particularly important for ready to run RC trucks where suspension geometry directly impacts steering response, tyre wear patterns, and overall stability. The engineering behind these components reflects decades of Traxxas's experience in RC technology and suspension optimisation, ensuring that whether you're racing competitively or enjoying casual backyard sessions, your vehicle responds exactly as intended. The pre-assembled nature of these toe links means you can install them quickly without needing additional tools or components, though basic RC mechanical knowledge is recommended for proper installation and adjustment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the purpose of toe links in RC suspension? — Toe links are suspension components that control the angle of your RC truck's front wheels. By adjusting the toe-in (wheels angled inward) or toe-out (wheels angled outward), you can optimise your vehicle's handling characteristics, improve steering response, reduce tyre wear, and enhance cornering stability. This is particularly important in competitive racing where small suspension adjustments can mean the difference between victory and defeat.
  • Are these toe links compatible with all Traxxas Rustler models? — These TRX9196 toe links are specifically designed for use with the Traxxas #9180 or #9181 upgrade kits, which are compatible with various Rustler models including the Rustler Brushless and Rustler XL-5 electric versions. We recommend checking that your specific Rustler model supports these upgrade kits before purchasing.
  • What is the difference between moulded composite and aluminium toe links? — Moulded composite toe links like the TRX9196 offer excellent strength-to-weight ratio and durability whilst being more affordable than aluminium alternatives. They're resistant to impact damage and won't easily crack, making them ideal for both racing and bashing. Aluminium alternatives may be slightly lighter but are more prone to bending under extreme stress.
  • Can I install these toe links myself? — Yes, these pre-assembled toe links are designed for installation into your #9180 or #9181 upgrade kit. Basic RC mechanical knowledge and simple tools are required. If you're unfamiliar with RC suspension work, our team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance, or you might consider having them installed by a local RC shop to ensure proper geometry setup.
  • What does 78mm centre to center mean? — This measurement refers to the distance between the two mounting points on the toe link (typically the ball joint connections). The 78mm dimension is critical for proper suspension geometry and must match your upgrade kit specification exactly to ensure correct wheel alignment and steering response.
  • Are these genuine Traxxas parts? — Yes, the TRX9196 is an official Traxxas spare part manufactured to the same specifications as components supplied with new vehicles. Purchasing genuine parts ensures perfect compatibility, optimal performance, and longevity.
