Overview
The Traxxas Ball Bearings (5x10x4mm) (2 pcs) TRX4609 are essential replacement parts for RC enthusiasts maintaining and upgrading their RC cars, trucks, and buggies. Whether you own a Traxxas RC vehicle and need to refresh worn bearings or you're a serious RC hobbyist looking to optimise performance, these precision ball bearings are the genuine OEM components trusted by the RC community across the UK. Bearing maintenance is crucial for keeping your RC car running smoothly, and having quality replacement bearings on hand ensures your model stays in peak condition for every bash session or race day.
These genuine Traxxas bearings represent the engineering excellence that Traxxas is recognised for throughout the RC hobby. Ball bearings are fundamental components in any RC car, buggy, truck or crawler, working in steering systems, drive shafts, and suspension points to enable smooth rotation and efficient power transfer. Worn or damaged bearings can cause sluggish handling, increased friction and premature wear on other drivetrain components. By choosing genuine Traxxas ball bearings, you ensure compatibility with your specific model and maintain the performance standards Traxxas designed into your vehicle.
Suitable for RC enthusiasts of all levels—from weekend bashers to competitive racers—these replacement bearings are a cost-effective way to extend the life of your RC car UK collection. The 5x10x4mm size makes them suitable for various Traxxas RC models, and purchasing them in pairs means you can service multiple bearing locations in a single go.
Key Features
- Genuine Traxxas OEM Component — These are authentic factory-manufactured Traxxas bearings, ensuring perfect compatibility with Traxxas RC vehicles and maintaining the exact performance specifications your model was engineered to deliver.
- 5x10x4mm Precision Size — The specific dimensions of these bearings are engineered to fit the exact locations where they're designed to be used, ensuring proper fit and eliminating compatibility issues that can arise with generic alternatives.
- Pack of Two — Each purchase includes two bearings, allowing you to service multiple bearing locations on your RC car, buggy or truck in one transaction, or keep spares ready for future maintenance.
- Essential Maintenance Part — Ball bearings are critical wear items that benefit from periodic replacement, especially if your RC vehicle gets regular use in dusty, wet or sandy conditions common in UK RC environments.
- Smooth Rotation Performance — Quality ball bearings ensure minimal friction and smooth rotation in steering, driveshaft and suspension systems, translating directly into responsive handling and efficient power delivery.
- Affordable Spare Parts Solution — Rather than replacing entire assemblies, you can extend the life of your RC car by replacing just the bearings, making this a cost-effective maintenance choice for RC enthusiasts.
Technical Performance
These Traxxas ball bearings are precision-engineered components manufactured to exacting tolerances that match the original specifications your RC vehicle was designed with. The 5x10x4mm dimensions refer to the inner diameter (5mm), outer diameter (10mm) and width (4mm) of the bearing, dimensions that have been proven through countless hours of RC racing and bashing across the globe. Quality ball bearings like these use hardened steel races and polished steel balls to minimise friction and wear, ensuring smooth operation whether you're running high-speed circuits or technical crawling courses. The engineering inside these small components is significant—proper ball bearings allow your RC car's steering servo to respond instantly, your drive shafts to turn without binding, and your suspension to articulate freely without dragging resistance. When bearings wear out, you'll notice sluggish steering response, grinding sensations during operation, or increased battery drain as your motor works harder to overcome friction. By replacing worn bearings with genuine Traxxas replacements, you restore your RC vehicle to its original performance envelope and prevent secondary damage to gears, shafts and other drivetrain components that can occur when bearings fail.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What Traxxas RC models use 5x10x4mm ball bearings? — These bearings are used in various Traxxas RC cars, buggies, trucks and crawlers. Check your specific model's parts list or user manual to confirm these bearings are correct for your vehicle, as different models may use different bearing sizes in different locations.
- How often should I replace my RC car's ball bearings? — Ball bearing replacement frequency depends on how often you use your RC vehicle and the conditions you operate in. Regular bashers might need replacements every 6-12 months, while racers may replace them more frequently. Signs of worn bearings include sluggish steering response, grinding noises, or visible rust and discolouration on the bearing surface.
- Are these genuine Traxxas bearings? — Yes, these are authentic OEM Traxxas components manufactured to original factory specifications. The part number TRX4609 and EAN code 20334460905 confirm these are genuine Traxxas products, not cheap aftermarket alternatives that may cause fitment issues or premature failure.
- What's the difference between sealed and unsealed ball bearings? — Traxxas offers both sealed and unsealed bearing options. Sealed bearings have rubber or metal shields that keep out dirt and moisture, making them ideal for wet or dusty UK conditions, whilst unsealed bearings offer slightly less friction. Check your parts diagram to see which type your model requires.
- Can I use these bearings on other RC brands? — While the 5x10x4mm size is a standard bearing dimension used across the RC industry, you should confirm compatibility with your specific model before purchasing. Different manufacturers may use slightly different bearing specifications or mounting arrangements.
- How do I install new ball bearings in my RC car? — Installation typically involves removing the old bearing from its mounting location (usually by pressing or sliding out), cleaning the bearing seat, and installing the new bearing. Your RC model's user manual or maintenance guide will provide specific installation instructions for your vehicle.
- Why is bearing maintenance important for RC performance? — Worn bearings increase friction throughout your RC car's drivetrain, which reduces top speed, drains your battery faster, causes sluggish steering response, and puts extra stress on your motor and ESC. Regular bearing replacement keeps your RC vehicle performing at its best.
