Overview
The Futaba BR-4000 Battery Checker is an essential multi-function diagnostic tool for any serious RC enthusiast in the UK. Whether you're running a high-performance brushless RC car, a vintage nitro model, or exploring the world of ready to run RC vehicles, this compact yet powerful checker ensures your battery pack is always in peak condition. Futaba, the legendary Japanese manufacturer established in 1948 and leading the way in radio control since 1962, has engineered the BR-4000 to be the definitive solution for battery health monitoring across 1 to 8 cell configurations.
This isn't just a simple voltage meter—the BR-4000 is a comprehensive battery and servo receiver checker that simultaneously monitors cell voltage balance, detects faults, and charges USB 2.0 devices. For RC car UK enthusiasts, drone pilots, and helicopter operators alike, the BR-4000 provides the peace of mind that comes from knowing your battery is safe and ready for action. The device supports an impressive range of battery chemistries including LiFe (Lithium Ferrite), LiPo/LiHV (Lithium Polymer), LiIon (Lithium Ion), NiCd (Nickel Cadmium), and NiMh (Nickel Metal Hydride), making it truly universal across vintage and modern RC platforms.
Its compact design—measuring just 80 x 55 x 19 millimetres and weighing only 59 grams—makes it the perfect addition to your trackside toolkit or pit bag. Backed by Futaba's reputation for reliability and supported by over 70 authorised UK stockists, the BR-4000 is the choice of competitive racers and hobbyists who refuse to compromise on equipment quality.
Key Features

Technical Performance
The Futaba BR-4000 represents the intersection of precision engineering and practical usability. Built to professional standards, the device accepts input voltages from 0.8V to 15V for single-cell applications and 0.8V to 4.8V for 2-8 cell packs, covering the complete spectrum of modern battery technology. The ±0.005V accuracy specification at 4.2V is critical for competitive racers who depend on perfectly balanced cell voltages for consistent performance—even a 0.01V difference between cells can affect acceleration, handling, and runtime in a precision RC car UK environment. The housing, measuring 80 x 55 x 19 millimetres (excluding protruding connectors), is engineered from durable materials designed to withstand the rigours of workshop and field use. The 59-gram weight distribution ensures the checker sits comfortably in the palm of your hand during trackside diagnostics. The working voltage specification of 5V to 36V demonstrates Futaba's engineering commitment to reliability across diverse power delivery scenarios, from low-voltage lithium cells to high-voltage multi-cell packs. Whether you're a competitive brushless buggy racer, a nitro truck enthusiast, or exploring ready to run RC helicopters, the BR-4000's robust construction and comprehensive feature set deliver the diagnostic capability expected of professional-grade equipment.
Frequently Asked Questions
