Overview
The Traxxas Rocker Arm Set, Progressive-3 (TRX5359) is a premium suspension tuning component designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand maximum performance from their Traxxas Slayer and Revo vehicles. This progressive rocker arm set represents the pinnacle of suspension geometry optimisation, allowing you to fine-tune your RC car UK setup to achieve race-winning handling characteristics. Whether you're a competitive driver looking to reduce body roll in cornering, a weekend basher seeking more responsive handling, or an experienced RC hobbyist upgrading your suspension system, the Progressive-3 rockers deliver noticeable improvements over stock suspension geometry.
Progressive suspension geometry is the key to unlocking your Traxxas vehicle's true potential. The ingenious design built into these rockers progressively increases spring rate as the suspension compresses, which means you get a softer initial response for comfort and grip, combined with a stiffer support on bigger hits. This technology, proven in competitive racing and demanding off-road conditions throughout the UK RC community, transforms how your vehicle handles everything from high-speed cornering to aggressive acceleration and hard braking.
As an authorised Traxxas retailer, RC Model Shop stocks only genuine Traxxas components manufactured to exacting specifications. The Rocker Arm Set Progressive-3 is a direct upgrade path for owners of compatible Traxxas models, offering a straightforward way to access advanced suspension tuning without requiring a complete suspension overhaul. This is serious RC performance engineering made accessible and affordable for UK RC car enthusiasts at all levels.
Key Features
- Progressive-3 Geometry — The most advanced progressive rocker design available for compatible Traxxas vehicles, offering significantly increased spring rate progression compared to stock Progressive-2 rockers, which translates directly to improved handling precision and vehicle control in demanding conditions.
- Reduced Body Lean — By implementing sophisticated progressive geometry, these rockers dramatically reduce unwanted body roll during aggressive cornering, keeping your RC car planted and stable even when pushing the limits, which is essential for maintaining consistent lap times and predictable handling characteristics.
- Minimised Brake Dive — The advanced rocker design counteracts the natural tendency of your vehicle to nose-dive under hard braking, maintaining a level stance and ensuring your suspension works efficiently throughout the entire braking zone, crucial for maintaining traction and control.
- Most Responsive Handling — Progressive-3 rockers deliver the most reactive and sharp handling response of any rocker arm option in the Traxxas range, providing immediate feedback and allowing you to exploit your vehicle's full performance potential during high-speed runs and technical courses.
- Direct Bolt-On Installation — These rockers are engineered as a direct replacement for stock rockers, requiring only basic tools and mechanical knowledge for installation, making suspension upgrades accessible to RC enthusiasts of all experience levels without requiring professional workshop setup.
- Genuine Traxxas Manufacturing — Manufactured to Traxxas' exacting quality standards with precision engineering and rigorous quality control, ensuring perfect fitment and reliable long-term performance in your RC setup.
Technical Performance
The Traxxas Rocker Arm Set Progressive-3 represents the culmination of advanced suspension engineering for compatible Traxxas Slayer and Revo platforms. The progressive geometry built into these rockers operates on a simple but brilliant principle: the spring rate increases progressively as the suspension compresses, creating what engineers call a degressive spring curve. This means the initial portion of suspension travel remains compliant and responsive, absorbing small bumps and maintaining tyre contact with uneven terrain, whilst deeper compression engages increasingly stiffer support to handle large impacts and prevent bottoming out. The rocker arm is precision-engineered from high-quality materials selected specifically for strength-to-weight ratio, ensuring durability through intense use whilst maintaining the lightweight construction necessary for optimal vehicle dynamics. The design philosophy prioritises consistent, predictable handling across varying track conditions and driving styles, making Progressive-3 rockers an excellent choice for competitive drivers, weekend bashers, and everyone in between. Installation requires compatible pushrods (either Traxxas part #5319 or #5319X, sold separately), and Progressive-3 rockers necessitate the use of spacers to function correctly—red-anodised item #5133 or blue-anodised item #5133A are recommended and available separately. This modular approach to suspension tuning allows RC enthusiasts to experiment with different spring rates and rocker geometries, unlocking performance gains that would otherwise require expensive complete suspension replacements.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between Progressive-2 and Progressive-3 rockers? — Progressive-3 rockers represent a significant advancement over Progressive-2 rockers, featuring a more aggressive progressive geometry curve that increases spring rate more substantially as the suspension compresses. This increased progression delivers more responsive handling, further reduces body lean and brake dive, and provides sharper feedback to the driver. Progressive-3 is the most advanced rocker option in the Traxxas range, making it ideal for serious competitors and experienced drivers seeking maximum performance and precision handling.
- Are Progressive-3 rockers suitable for beginners? — Whilst Progressive-3 rockers are technically accessible to beginners in terms of installation—they bolt directly onto compatible vehicles using basic tools—they represent an advanced suspension tuning component best appreciated by drivers with some experience understanding how suspension geometry affects vehicle handling. Beginners may find stock or Progressive-2 rockers more forgiving, but upgrading to Progressive-3 is an excellent educational investment as you develop your skills and suspension knowledge.
- What vehicles are Progressive-3 rockers compatible with? — These rockers are engineered for Traxxas Slayer and Revo vehicles that utilise the compatible rocker arm platform. Always verify compatibility with your specific model before purchasing, as rocker geometry is model-specific and cannot be universally applied across the full Traxxas range.
- Do I need to replace my pushrods when installing Progressive-3 rockers? — You'll need compatible pushrods to complete the installation; the rockers work in conjunction with either Traxxas part #5319 or #5319X pushrods. If you already have compatible pushrods installed on your vehicle, you may be able to reuse them, but always verify compatibility and condition before reassembly.
- What is the purpose of the rocker arm spacers? — Spacers are essential components that work alongside Progressive-3 rockers, creating proper geometry and ensuring correct suspension kinematics. The spacers position the rocker arms at the precise angle necessary for the progressive geometry to function as engineered. Red-anodised (#5133) and blue-anodised (#5133A) options are available; the colour distinction may relate to different spring rates or vehicle setups, so verify which suits your specific vehicle configuration.
- Why does suspension geometry matter in RC cars? — Suspension geometry directly controls how your vehicle responds to acceleration, braking, cornering, and irregular terrain. Progressive rocker arms optimise the relationship between suspension movement and spring rate throughout the full range of travel, resulting in a vehicle that remains planted and responsive regardless of driving intensity, which is the foundation of consistent, competitive performance in RC racing.
