Key Features
- 14-Pole 12-Slot Hi-Torque Rotor — The precision-balanced 14-pole rotor design delivers superior torque characteristics compared to standard 12-pole designs, allowing the motor to turn larger propellers more efficiently and providing the pulling power necessary for sustained climb and aggressive manoeuvres without stalling.
- CNC-Machined 6061-T6 Billet Heatsink Can — Precision-engineered from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminium alloy using CNC machining techniques, the heatsink can dissipates motor heat more effectively than stamped or cast alternatives, maintaining optimal operating temperatures during extended flight sessions and extending motor lifespan significantly.
- High-Purity Copper Windings — Maximum-efficiency copper windings with superior electrical conductivity reduce resistive losses, meaning more of your battery energy converts directly into thrust rather than wasted as heat, resulting in longer flight times and more responsive throttle control.
- High-RPM ABEC5 Oversized Bearings — Premium-grade ABEC5 oversized bearings provide ultra-smooth shaft rotation with minimal friction and play, delivering the refined, vibration-free performance that translates to smoother flight characteristics and quieter operation compared to standard bearings.
- Precision-Balanced Rotor for Smooth, Reliable Performance — Every rotor undergoes precision balancing during manufacturing to eliminate vibration, ensuring smooth power delivery that reduces stress on airframe components and improves overall flight stability and control responsiveness.
- Super-Thin 0.2mm Stator Laminations — Engineered lamination thickness maximises the efficiency of magnetic field transition through the stator core, reducing eddy current losses and iron losses, which directly translates to improved power conversion efficiency and better battery runtime.
- Flexible Dual-End Mounting Provision — This outrunner motor features mounting options at either end of the motor tube, allowing you to install it in conventional or pusher configurations to suit your specific airframe layout without requiring custom mounting brackets or modifications.
- Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Shaft — The robust stainless steel shaft resists corrosion and provides superior strength compared to mild steel alternatives, ensuring reliable operation in various weather conditions and maintaining shaft integrity even when flying demanding aerobatic manoeuvres.
Technical Performance
The Radient 2836 1200KV delivers 390 watts of reliable power suitable for a wide range of model aircraft applications including foam trainers, park flyers, sport-scale models and intermediate aerobatic designs. Operating across a 2S to 4S LiPo battery range, this motor offers exceptional versatility—on 2S it provides gentle, efficient power ideal for delicate flight training, whilst 3S and 4S configurations deliver the performance needed for more energetic flying. The 1200KV rating represents an optimal compromise between RPM and torque, allowing the use of larger propellers than higher-KV motors whilst maintaining the responsiveness required for precise flight control. At 67 grams, the motor's lightweight construction helps minimise fuselage weight, directly translating to improved climb performance and reduced power consumption. The 4.0mm shaft diameter and 3.5mm bullet connector represent industry-standard specifications that ensure compatibility with the vast majority of UK-available RC aircraft prop adapters and ESC connectors. Recommended ESC capacity is 30A, providing ample headroom for the 390W power rating whilst remaining compact enough for installation in most airframes. The precision engineering throughout—from the CNC-machined aluminium end caps to the carefully selected bearing specification—ensures that this motor will deliver consistent performance across hundreds of flight hours, making it a smart long-term investment for serious RC pilots. The super-thin 0.2mm stator laminations and high-purity copper windings work in concert to achieve maximum energy conversion efficiency, meaning your batteries work harder for longer and your aircraft climbs more eagerly with each flight.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What propeller size should I use with the Radient 2836 1200KV? — Radient provides specific propeller recommendations based on your battery configuration. For 3S operation, use either a 9×6 or 10×6 propeller; for 4S operation, use either an 8×6 or 9×6 propeller. These sizes have been carefully selected to optimise performance whilst staying within the motor's rated power envelope and maximising flight time and responsiveness.
- Is this motor suitable for beginners learning to fly RC aircraft? — Yes, the 2836 1200KV is an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced pilots and also works well for dedicated beginners who have chosen a suitable training airframe. The motor's smooth, predictable power delivery and available 2S battery option provide gentle throttle response perfect for building piloting skills, whilst 3S and 4S options allow progression to more demanding flying as your skills develop.
- What battery configuration should I use? — This motor operates across 2S, 3S and 4S LiPo batteries. A 2S battery (7.4V nominal) provides gentle, training-focused flight characteristics with extended flight times; a 3S battery (11.1V nominal) offers the best balance of performance and efficiency for most recreational flying; a 4S battery (14.8V nominal) delivers maximum power and climb performance for sport flying and aerobatics. Start with 3S for most applications unless you have specific training or extreme performance requirements.
- What ESC should I use with this motor? — Radient recommends a minimum 30A ESC capable of handling 2-4S LiPo batteries. Ensure your chosen ESC is rated for brushless motors and compatible with your RC receiver type. Popular options include Hobbywing, Castle Creations and other established ESC manufacturers available across the UK RC market.
- How much does the motor weigh and will it fit my airframe? — The Radient 2836 weighs just 67 grams, making it suitable for most modern model aircraft designs from trainers to sport-scale models in the 800mm to 1500mm wingspan range. Check your airframe documentation for motor tube diameter compatibility; this model fits standard 28mm diameter motor tubes commonly used in UK-available aircraft kits.
- How does the 2836 1200KV compare to other Radient models? — The 2836 represents Radient's mid-size offering positioned between the smaller, lighter 2830 models and larger 3530/3536 models. Compared to the 2836 880KV (lower KV, more torque), the 1200KV spins faster, allowing higher RPM and smaller propellers. Compared to the 2836 1100KV, the 1200KV produces slightly higher RPM, beneficial for lighter aircraft or performance-oriented flying. All three sizes maintain Radient's signature engineering quality and precision manufacturing standards.
