Overview
The Radient 100A G2 ESC / SBEC (2-6 Cell) is a professional-grade electronic speed controller designed specifically for RC fixed-wing aircraft. Built around a fast 32-bit microprocessor and featuring ultra-reliable low heat generation MOSFETs, this brushless motor controller delivers the smooth, predictable performance that serious RC pilots demand. Whether you're flying sport models, pushing the limits with aerobatics, or operating scale aircraft at your local RC club in the UK, this ESC offers a dependable fit-and-forget solution that removes the guesswork from motor control and lets you focus on flying.
At just 80g and measuring a compact 90mm x 37mm x 10mm, the Radient 100A G2 is engineered for easy installation in tight airframes without compromising on power or features. The pre-installed XT60 battery connector and bullet-style motor connectors mean you can get airborne quickly without fiddling with soldering irons. This is the kind of brushless ESC for RC aircraft that experienced pilots choose when they want reliability without complications, and newcomers trust when they're stepping up from cheaper alternatives.
The adjustable SBEC output voltage is a standout feature that sets this controller apart from basic alternatives. By allowing you to optimise servo voltage, you can maximise the power available to your control surfaces, resulting in crisper response and better overall flight performance. Combined with comprehensive protection systems including start-up protection, over-heat protection, low-voltage cutoff and signal loss detection, the Radient 100A G2 gives you confidence that your aircraft and battery investment is well protected during every flight session.
Key Features
- Low Heat Generation MOSFET with High Instant Current Capability — The advanced power electronics in this ESC produce minimal heat during operation, which means better efficiency, longer lifespan and safer flying. The high instant current capability ensures responsive throttle control even when your motor demands peak power during aggressive manoeuvres or during the initial spool-up phase.
- Fast 32-Bit Microprocessor — The intelligent processor core handles complex control algorithms at high speed, enabling super-smooth motor control and precise throttle linearity that feels natural and predictable. This is the processing power that separates quality ESCs from budget alternatives on the RC aircraft market.
- Super-Smooth Start-Up and Accurate Throttle Linearity — Gone are the days of jerky throttle response or unpredictable motor spooling. The 32-bit processor ensures your motor winds up smoothly and your throttle input translates directly into proportional motor output, giving you the fine control needed for smooth landings and precise aerobatic manoeuvres.
- Higher Energy-Saving Qualities and Efficiency — The efficient design means less power is wasted as heat, translating directly into longer flight times from your battery and reduced charging cycles. For club pilots flying multiple sorties, improved efficiency compounds into significant practical benefits across a season of flying.
- Adjustable SBEC Output Voltage — The integrated switching BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit) allows you to adjust the servo voltage across multiple settings, maximising the power delivered to your servo control systems. This means your rudder, elevator and aileron servos work harder and respond faster, improving overall aircraft control and handling characteristics.
- Comprehensive Protection Systems — This ESC includes start-up protection (preventing dangerous motor runaway), over-heat protection (throttling back before damage occurs), low-voltage protection (safeguarding your LiPo battery), and signal loss & phase loss protection (detecting receiver or sensor faults). These multiple layers of protection mean you can fly with confidence.
- Broad Motor Compatibility — The 100A G2 works reliably with most brushless motors on the market, including high RPM types, giving you freedom to choose the motor that suits your specific aircraft and flying style without worrying about ESC compatibility.
- LCD Card Programming — Rather than cryptic LED flashing sequences, the optional LCD programming card makes setup and adjustment far more convenient and intuitive. You can fine-tune throttle curves, adjust brake settings and configure protection thresholds without specialist knowledge.
- Pre-Installed Professional Connectors — The XT60 battery connector and bullet-style motor connectors come factory-installed, eliminating a major source of soldering errors and allowing immediate installation into your airframe without additional preparation work.
Technical Performance
The Radient 100A G2 represents a significant step forward in ESC technology for RC fixed-wing aircraft. The 100A continuous current rating provides ample headroom for sport, aerobatic and scale flying applications across 2S to 6S LiPo battery configurations. The fast 32-bit microprocessor combined with low-resistance MOSFET technology ensures minimal voltage drop during operation, meaning more of your battery's energy reaches the motor rather than being wasted as heat. At just 80 grams, this is an exceptionally lightweight solution that won't significantly impact your aircraft's weight budget or centre of gravity, a critical consideration for high-performance flying. The compact dimensions (90mm x 37mm x 10mm) make it suitable for installation in most fuselages, wings or nacelles depending on your aircraft design. The pre-fitted XT60 battery connector is rapidly becoming the standard for RC aircraft due to its robust construction and reliable power transfer. The bullet-style motor connectors are universally compatible with brushless motor bell housing terminals. Build quality is exceptional, with proper potting of sensitive components to resist moisture and vibration damage during intensive flying sessions. The engineering philosophy throughout is reliability and efficiency rather than cutting corners on materials or labour, which explains why the Radient brand is respected among RC pilots across the UK and internationally.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What battery does the Radient 100A G2 ESC require? — This ESC is compatible with 2-6 cell LiPo batteries, giving you flexibility in choosing your power source depending on your motor and aircraft requirements. The 2S configuration suits lightweight sport models, whilst 4S and 6S batteries provide serious power for high-performance and scale aircraft. Always match your battery cell count to your motor's specifications and your ESC's rating.
- Is this ESC suitable for beginners learning to fly RC aircraft? — Yes, absolutely. Whilst the Radient 100A G2 is a quality product capable of advanced flying, its comprehensive protection systems and reliable performance make it an excellent choice for pilots stepping up from simpler systems. The smooth throttle response and protection features mean beginners can focus on learning to fly rather than worrying about equipment failure. The only potential complexity is optional LCD card programming, which is not required for basic operation.
- What makes the adjustable SBEC output voltage so important? — The integrated BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit) powers your servo control systems. By allowing voltage adjustment, you can optimise servo performance for your specific airframe. Higher voltage means faster servo response and stronger holding torque, beneficial for aerobatics and aggressive flying. Lower voltage settings reduce power consumption, extending overall flight time. This flexibility is a significant advantage over fixed-voltage alternatives.
- How does the 32-bit microprocessor improve performance compared to older 8-bit or 16-bit designs? — A faster processor handles more complex control calculations per second, resulting in smoother motor control curves and more responsive throttle linearity. The 32-bit architecture also enables more sophisticated protection algorithms and telemetry processing. In practical terms, you'll notice fewer stumbles during throttle transitions and more predictable motor behaviour across the entire throttle range, which is essential for precision flying and aerobatics.
- What protection systems does this ESC include and why do they matter? — The Radient 100A G2 features start-up protection (preventing runaway), over-heat protection (throttling back if temperature rises), low-voltage protection (safeguarding your expensive LiPo battery from over-discharge), and signal loss & phase loss protection (detecting receiver faults or electrical problems). Together, these systems protect both your equipment and your battery investment, potentially preventing expensive crashes or fire hazards.
- Is soldering required to install this ESC? — No soldering is required for basic installation. The pre-installed XT60 battery connector and bullet-style motor connectors mean you can connect the ESC to your battery and motor immediately. You will need to solder ESC signal and ground wires to your RC receiver, as this is a universal requirement for all ESCs, but the main power connections are connector-based for reliability and convenience.
