Overview

The Losi HD Servo Saver with 25T Belleville Disc Spring is an essential upgrade component for the LMT 2.0 platform, designed to protect your servo from damage during aggressive RC driving. This precision-engineered servo saver represents the pinnacle of tuning flexibility, allowing you to dial in the exact spring rate that matches your driving style and terrain conditions. Whether you are a competitive racer pushing your RC truck to its limits on a UK track or a weekend basher tackling challenging terrain, this HD servo saver provides the protection and adjustability your LMT 2.0 deserves.

The innovative two-step design sets this servo saver apart from standard components. By keeping the servo saver stiffer around the centre whilst maintaining proper servo saver function throughout the range of motion, you get the best of both worlds: reduced flex during normal steering inputs for crisp, responsive handling, and progressive give-way characteristics when the servo encounters an impact or binding condition. This intelligent engineering approach means you are not sacrificing servo protection for performance, or vice versa.

What truly elevates this component for serious RC enthusiasts and tuners in the UK is the Belleville disc spring design with fully tunable spring rates. Rather than being locked into a single spring rate, you have the flexibility to experiment with different combinations of the included springs to find the perfect balance for your specific needs. This level of customisation is typically found only in high-end competition setups, making this an affordable way to dial in professional-grade handling characteristics on your LMT 2.0.

Key Features

  • 25T Belleville Disc Spring Design — The 25-tooth configuration provides optimal engagement with the servo saver mechanism, ensuring reliable power transmission and responsive steering control across a wide range of driving conditions and servo torque ratings.
  • Two-Step Design Engineering — This innovative construction keeps the servo saver stiffer around the centre while maintaining proper servo saver function, giving you crisp steering response during normal driving whilst protecting your servo from sudden impacts and binding situations that could cause damage.
  • Tunable Spring Rates — The included selection of Belleville disc springs allows you to mix and match different combinations to achieve your preferred spring rate, enabling precise tuning that matches your driving style, terrain preference, and servo characteristics without requiring multiple purchases.
  • Six Firm Belleville Disc Springs — The firmer spring options provide stiffer servo saver characteristics, suitable for high-speed driving, hard-packed terrain, and situations where you want minimal flex and maximum servo protection with reduced throw-out tendency.
  • Six Soft Belleville Disc Springs — The softer spring options deliver more progressive servo saver action, perfect for technical rock crawling, sand driving, and situations where you need the servo saver to give way smoothly to prevent binding and reduce steering servo strain.
  • HD Construction Quality — Built to heavy-duty standards, this servo saver is engineered to withstand the demands of serious RC driving, with robust materials and precision manufacturing that ensure reliability and longevity even under extreme driving conditions.
  • LMT 2.0 Compatibility — Specifically designed for the Losi LMT 2.0 platform, this servo saver integrates seamlessly with your truck's existing steering system, ensuring perfect fitment and optimal performance without modification or adaptation.

Technical Performance

The HD Servo Saver represents the convergence of precision engineering and practical tuning flexibility. The Belleville disc spring design is a proven technology in mechanical engineering, offering progressive spring rates and exceptional reliability. Unlike traditional coil springs, Belleville springs occupy minimal space while providing robust spring characteristics that can be easily adjusted by stacking multiple springs in different combinations. The inclusion of both firm and soft springs gives you twelve total spring elements to work with, allowing for six different spring rate combinations by using varying numbers of each type. The two-step design geometry keeps stress concentrated around the centre portion of the servo saver's range of motion, which means tighter steering feel during routine driving manoeuvres whilst the servo saver still provides protective give-way when encountering obstacles or binding conditions. This engineering approach reduces unnecessary stress on the servo itself, extending servo lifespan and maintaining consistent steering responsiveness throughout your RC truck's operating life. The 25T configuration is the industry standard for modern servo savers, ensuring compatibility with contemporary servo torque ratings and providing an optimal balance between engagement surface area and mechanical advantage. All components are manufactured to tight tolerances, ensuring consistent performance across multiple units and allowing you to make reliable, predictable tuning adjustments as you experiment with different spring combinations.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a servo saver and why do I need one on my LMT 2.0? — A servo saver is a critical component that protects your steering servo from damage caused by impacts, crashes, and binding situations. When your RC truck hits an obstacle or the steering reaches a binding point, the servo saver gives way in a controlled manner rather than allowing the full force to transfer directly to the servo gears, which would cause stripping and permanent damage. The servo saver essentially acts as a mechanical fuse for your steering system.
  • What is the difference between firm and soft Belleville disc springs? — The firm springs provide stiffer servo saver characteristics, making the steering feel tighter and more responsive while offering maximum servo protection. The soft springs deliver a more progressive, forgiving feel that allows the servo saver to give way more smoothly, reducing load spikes but with slightly increased servo throw-out tendency. You can mix different numbers of each type to fine-tune your setup.
  • How do I adjust the spring rate on this servo saver? — Spring rate adjustment is achieved by changing the number and combination of firm and soft Belleville disc springs installed in the servo saver assembly. More springs create a stiffer setup, whilst fewer springs create a softer setup. You can also experiment with different ratios of firm to soft springs to find the optimal balance for your driving style and conditions.
  • Is this HD Servo Saver suitable for competitive racing? — Yes, absolutely. The HD construction and tunable design make this servo saver ideal for competitive racers who need precision steering response with reliable servo protection. The ability to fine-tune spring rates allows you to optimise your setup for specific track conditions and racing styles, which is essential for performance-focused RC driving.
  • What is the two-step design and why does it matter? — The two-step design keeps the servo saver stiffer around the centre of its range of motion, giving you responsive steering during normal driving, whilst still allowing the servo saver to give way when encountering impacts or binding situations. This engineering approach prevents unnecessary flex during routine manoeuvres whilst maintaining protective servo give-way, offering the best combination of handling responsiveness and servo protection.
  • Can I use this servo saver on other RC trucks besides the LMT 2.0? — This servo saver is specifically designed for the Losi LMT 2.0 platform. Whilst the 25T configuration is industry standard, fitment compatibility depends on your truck's specific servo saver housing and coupling design. Always verify compatibility with your specific RC truck model before purchase.
  • How often should I replace the Belleville disc springs? — Belleville springs are extremely durable and should not require regular replacement under normal driving conditions. However, if you notice that your servo saver no longer responds to spring rate changes or if you experience unexpected servo damage, inspection and potential replacement of the springs may be necessary.
