Key Features

  • 140C Discharge Rating — This exceptionally high discharge rate means the battery can deliver massive amounts of current instantly, enabling explosive acceleration and maintaining peak performance even during the most demanding driving sessions. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK seeking competitive edge or just pure driving fun, this discharge capacity translates to snappier throttle response and stronger top-end power delivery.
  • 5000mAh Capacity — With 5000 milliamps of stored energy, this battery provides extended runtime compared to smaller capacity packs, allowing you to enjoy longer driving sessions without interruption or the need for frequent battery swaps during weekend RC car meetups.
  • HV (High Voltage) 7.6V Configuration — Operating at 7.6V from two cells in series (2S1P), this high voltage chemistry provides greater power output and performance ceiling than standard voltage alternatives, pushing your RC car harder and faster throughout the entire discharge cycle.
  • Stable Automatic Stacking Technology — Gens Ace's proprietary technology ensures that each cell is perfectly matched in capacity, voltage, and discharge characteristics. This means your battery performs consistently from first charge to last, with stable voltage delivery that keeps your RC car running at peak performance until the pack is depleted.
  • Factory-Installed 5.0mm Bullet Terminals — The standard 5mm bullet connectors come pre-installed, eliminating compatibility concerns and allowing you to charge and deploy your battery immediately. These connectors are widely used across RC car systems in the UK, ensuring seamless integration with most modern ESCs and charge leads.
  • Compact Shorty Hard Case — The durable protective hard case keeps your battery safe from physical damage, impacts, and environmental hazards whilst maintaining a compact footprint that minimises weight. This is essential for maintaining your RC car's weight distribution and agility during high-performance driving.
  • Low Internal Resistance — Gens Ace batteries are engineered with exceptionally low IR (internal resistance), which provides stable voltage delivery throughout your entire mission. This means your RC car maintains consistent power and throttle response from the moment you hit the track until the battery is fully depleted, without the voltage sag that compromises performance in lesser batteries.
  • ISO9001 and ISO14001 Certified Manufacturing — Gens Ace and its manufacturing partners maintain the highest international quality and environmental standards, ensuring that every battery meets strict quality control requirements and is manufactured responsibly.

Technical Performance

The Gens Ace Redline 2.0 Series battery is engineered with precision that extends far beyond basic specifications. At approximately 177 grams, this is a surprisingly lightweight power source for its capacity, making it an ideal upgrade for RC cars where weight management is critical. The dimensions of 96mm length, 46mm width, and 19mm height create a compact footprint that slots into most RC car battery trays without requiring modifications or adjustments. The 2S1P configuration (two cells in parallel, one cell in series) delivers the sweet spot of voltage and capacity—enough sustained power for extended runtime without the weight penalty of larger packs.

What truly distinguishes this battery in the competitive UK RC market is the combination of 5000mAh capacity with a 140C discharge rating. This ratio indicates a battery engineered for both endurance and explosive power delivery. The stable automatic stacking technology mentioned in the specifications is not merely marketing language; it represents Gens Ace's commitment to cell matching so precise that every cell within the pack performs identically. This eliminates the voltage imbalances that plague inferior batteries, where individual cells might discharge at different rates, creating inconsistent power delivery and premature cell damage.

The low internal resistance (IR) specification ensures that voltage remains stable even under the extreme current demands of high-performance brushless RC car systems. This is particularly important for 140C discharge applications, where lesser batteries might experience significant voltage sag that reduces top speed, acceleration and overall responsiveness. Gens Ace's engineering maintains voltage stability throughout the discharge cycle, meaning your RC car performs consistently whether you're in the first minute of a run or the final moments before the battery is fully depleted. For serious RC car enthusiasts in the UK—whether you're running competitions or high-speed bashing—this consistency is invaluable.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What RC cars is the Gens Ace 5000mAh 140C LiPo battery compatible with? — This battery is designed specifically for modern RC cars and is compatible with any RC vehicle featuring a 2S LiPo battery slot and standard 5mm bullet connector harnesses. The 7.6V HV configuration works with brushless ESCs rated for 2S LiPo operation. If you're upgrading an existing RC car, ensure your ESC is rated for at least 140A continuous current capability and that your battery tray can accommodate the 96 x 46 x 19mm dimensions. Most contemporary brushless RC cars from brands like Traxxas, ARRMA, Losi and similar manufacturers will support this battery perfectly.
  • How long will this battery last on a single charge? — Runtime depends entirely on your driving style, throttle usage, and the specific current draw of your RC car's motor and ESC. A rough guide is that 5000mAh divided by your average current draw (in amps) equals runtime in hours. Aggressive driving with constant maximum throttle might yield 15-25 minutes of runtime, whilst more conservative driving and throttle management could extend this to 30-40 minutes or more. The 140C rating ensures consistent power delivery throughout this entire runtime window.
  • Is this suitable for beginners to RC cars in the UK? — Whilst this battery is suitable for any driver skill level, beginners should understand that the 140C discharge rating is quite high and designed for performance-oriented driving. Beginners can absolutely use this battery, but they should ensure their RC car's ESC is rated for 2S LiPo and at least 140A continuous current. The battery itself is safe and reliable when charged with an appropriate LiPo charger, stored properly, and used within the guidelines of your specific RC car. Always follow manufacturer recommendations for your particular vehicle.
  • How should I charge this Gens Ace LiPo battery? — This is a 2S HV LiPo battery and requires a dedicated LiPo battery charger that supports HV charging. Charge at the C-rating appropriate to your charger specifications—many users charge at 1C (5 amps) for balanced charging. Never use a standard NiMh charger. Always balance charge your LiPo batteries to ensure cell voltage consistency and longevity. A quality LiPo charger is an essential investment for any serious RC car enthusiast in the UK.
  • Why does this battery cost more than standard voltage LiPo batteries? — The higher price reflects the advanced engineering and manufacturing precision involved in creating a Gens Ace battery. The stable automatic stacking technology, the strict cell matching process, the low internal resistance design, and the rigorous quality control all add value. Additionally, the 140C discharge rating is exceptionally high and requires premium cell chemistry and construction. You're paying for reliability, consistency, and performance—factors that make the difference between a frustrating driving experience and pure RC car enjoyment.
  • What is the difference between HV and standard voltage LiPo batteries? — HV (High Voltage) LiPo batteries operate at a slightly higher voltage per cell—approximately 3.85V per cell maximum versus 3.7V for standard voltage cells. This higher voltage ceiling means more stored energy in the same physical size, translating to greater power output and performance. The Gens Ace Redline 2.0 Series HV reaches 7.6V nominal (2S configuration) and can charge to slightly higher peak voltage than standard packs, providing noticeably stronger acceleration and top-speed performance in your RC car.
  • Is the hard case necessary? — The integrated hard case provides several practical benefits. It protects your battery from physical damage, impacts, and compression that could damage internal cell structures and create safety hazards. The hard case also helps with organisation and storage, keeping your battery contained and identifiable. Additionally, the hard case reduces the risk of shorts from conductive materials touching the battery terminals during storage or transport—a safety consideration every RC car enthusiast should take seriously.
  • What does the 140C rating actually mean? — The C-rating indicates the maximum continuous discharge rate relative to capacity. For a 5000mAh battery with a 140C rating, maximum continuous discharge current is 140 × 5 = 700 amps. This doesn't mean you'll ever draw this much current in a typical RC car application, but it indicates the battery's capability to handle high current spikes without voltage sag, maintaining performance during aggressive acceleration and full-throttle driving. A 140C rating demonstrates premium cell chemistry and internal construction.
