Overview
The ARRMA Pinion Gear 24T MOD 0.5 CNC 3.2mm Bore (Z-ARA-2175) is a precision-engineered replacement transmission component designed for ARRMA RC vehicles. This 24-tooth pinion gear is manufactured using advanced CNC machining processes to deliver the exact specifications required by modern brushless RC buggies, trucks and monster trucks. Whether you're running a 1/14 TYPHON GROM, 1/16 MINI KRATON, or 1/16 MOJAVE GROM, this pinion gear is an essential spare part for maintaining peak performance on the track or trail.
As a UK RC car enthusiast, you'll appreciate that ARRMA parts are engineered to the highest standards of durability and precision. The 24T tooth count in this pinion gear is specifically designed to work in harmony with spur gears to deliver the optimal gear ratio for acceleration, top speed and torque delivery in competitive and recreational RC racing. If you're serious about keeping your ARRMA RC truck or buggy running at peak efficiency, having quality replacement gears in your spares box is essential.
This CNC-manufactured pinion gear represents ARRMA's commitment to providing genuine OEM-quality components for their entire range of brushless RC vehicles. Precision manufacturing ensures smooth engagement with your spur gear, reducing wear and extending the lifespan of your entire transmission system.
Key Features
- CNC Precision Manufacturing — The pinion gear is produced using computer numerical control machining, which guarantees exact tooth profiles and dimensions for flawless meshing with your spur gear, reducing noise and wear during high-speed operation.
- 24-Tooth Configuration — The 24T tooth count is specifically engineered to deliver the ideal balance of acceleration and top speed for ARRMA's competitive RC buggies and trucks, allowing you to tune your setup precisely for different track conditions.
- MOD 0.5 Pitch Standard — This gear uses the MOD 0.5 (modulus 0.5) pitch specification, which is the industry standard for small-scale RC vehicles and ensures compatibility with matching spur gears across the ARRMA range.
- 3.2mm Motor Shaft Bore — The bore diameter is precisely engineered to fit standard ARRMA brushless motor shafts, ensuring a secure fit that prevents slipping and maintains consistent power delivery to the wheels.
- Durable Steel Construction — Built from strong and durable steel material, this pinion gear is engineered to withstand the extreme stresses of high-performance RC racing, delivering long-lasting performance even in aggressive driving conditions.
- Smooth Tooth Profile — The precision manufactured tooth geometry ensures smooth operation with your spur gear, minimising backlash and gear noise for a more refined driving experience.
- Genuine ARRMA Component — This is an authentic ARRMA part, ensuring 100% compatibility with your specific model and maintaining the reliability you expect from OEM components.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Pinion Gear 24T MOD 0.5 is engineered as a direct replacement for ARRMA's small-scale brushless RC vehicles, particularly the 1/16 and 1/14 scale models. The 24-tooth configuration, combined with the MOD 0.5 pitch standard, creates a specific gear ratio when meshed with ARRMA's complementary spur gears. CNC precision manufacturing ensures that every tooth is identical in profile and spacing, which is critical for smooth power transmission and minimum noise generation during high-speed running. The steel construction provides exceptional durability under the extreme loads generated by brushless motors running at high RPM. The 3.2mm bore is precision-engineered to fit securely onto ARRMA's brushless motor shafts, preventing any slippage that could compromise power delivery or create inconsistent handling characteristics. This pinion gear is designed to work seamlessly within ARRMA's transmission systems, which are engineered for both recreational bashing and competitive racing applications. The tooth profile has been precision-manufactured to engage smoothly with your spur gear, distributing loads evenly across multiple teeth and extending the service life of both components. Whether you're replacing a worn gear after months of intense track use or building up a race setup, this component represents the engineering standards expected from ARRMA's OEM parts catalogue.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What ARRMA models is the 24T pinion gear compatible with? — This pinion gear is compatible with the 1/16 MINI KRATON 3S (C-ARA2508T1, C-ARA2508ST1, C-ARA2508ST2), 1/16 MOJAVE GROM 223S BLX 4X4 (C-ARA2304ST1, C-ARA2304T1, C-ARA2304ST2) and 1/14 TYPHON GROM 223S BLX 4X4 (C-ARA2306ST2, C-ARA2306ST1, C-ARA2306T1) models. Always check your specific model to ensure compatibility before ordering.
- Why would I need to replace my pinion gear? — Pinion gears wear over time with regular use, particularly the teeth which engage with the spur gear under load from your brushless motor. Worn teeth can cause noise, slipping, inconsistent power delivery and accelerated wear on your spur gear. Regular replacement during maintenance intervals keeps your RC truck or buggy running smoothly and efficiently.
- What is the difference between the 24T and other tooth counts? — ARRMA offers pinion gears in various tooth counts (18T, 24T, 25T, 26T, 27T, 29T, 30T and others). Lower tooth counts like 18T provide higher top speed but lower acceleration, while higher tooth counts like 30T provide better acceleration but lower top speed. The 24T sits in the middle of this range, offering a balanced setup suitable for both general bashing and competitive racing.
- What is MOD 0.5 and why does it matter? — MOD 0.5 (modulus 0.5) refers to the pitch standard of the gear teeth. This is the industry standard specification for small-scale RC vehicles like 1/10, 1/16 and 1/14 scale models. Using MOD 0.5 components ensures proper mesh with your spur gear and optimal power transmission. Do not attempt to mix different MOD standards as this will result in poor engagement and potential gear damage.
- How do I install the pinion gear? — The pinion gear slides onto your brushless motor shaft and is secured using the M3 x 4mm set screw included in the box. Push the gear onto the shaft until it sits flush against the motor, then tighten the set screw securely with an appropriate hex key. Ensure the set screw is tight enough to prevent slipping but not so tight that it damages the motor shaft.
- Is this a genuine ARRMA part? — Yes, the Z-ARA-2175 is an authentic ARRMA original equipment manufacturer component, manufactured to exact OEM specifications for guaranteed compatibility and performance.
