Frequently Asked Questions
- Why do I need spare rotor blade bolts for my RC helicopter? — Rotor blade bolts undergo constant stress during flight operations, including rotational forces, vibration, and the physical stress of blade movement. Over time, repeated assembly and disassembly during maintenance can cause wear to these critical fasteners. Having genuine spare bolts allows you to perform routine maintenance and replacement, ensuring your Fusion 700 always has secure, undamaged fasteners holding the rotor blades in place. This is a fundamental aspect of safe helicopter operation and aircraft longevity.
- Are these bolts compatible with my Blade Fusion 700? — Yes, these are genuine OEM Blade parts specifically designed for the Fusion 700 helicopter. The part number Z-BLH-1683 is the correct specification for this model, ensuring perfect fitment with your aircraft's rotor head assembly.
- What are M5 lock nuts and why are they important? — M5 lock nuts are fasteners with a built-in mechanism (usually a nylon insert) that creates friction and resists vibration-induced loosening. In helicopter applications, where vibration from rotating components is constant, lock nuts are essential for preventing bolts from gradually working loose during flight. The lock nuts included with this set ensure your rotor blade bolts remain secure throughout all flight operations.
- How often should I replace my rotor blade bolts? — As part of regular helicopter maintenance, you should inspect your rotor blade fasteners before each flying session. If you notice any signs of wear, damage, corrosion, or deformation, replacement is recommended. Even without visible damage, having spare bolts available allows you to rotate components and maintain your aircraft in peak condition. Many RC helicopter pilots keep spare fastener sets on hand as part of their spares box.
- Can I use non-genuine replacement bolts instead? — Whilst non-genuine fasteners might seem like a cost-saving option, genuine Blade hardware is engineered to precise specifications and quality standards that directly affect flight safety and performance. Using authentic OEM components ensures your aircraft performs as designed and maintains the safety margins built into the Fusion 700's engineering. For such critical components, genuine spares are always the better choice.
