Overview

The Blade BLH-1678 10x19x5mm Radial Ball Bearing set is an essential spare part for maintaining peak performance in your RC model. This set of four precision-engineered bearings is designed to help keep your RC car, truck, or helicopter running smoothly whilst minimising friction and wear during operation. Whether you are a dedicated RC enthusiast in the UK or someone new to the hobby, quality bearings are critical to the longevity and reliability of your model. These genuine Blade bearings are perfect for routine maintenance, restoration projects, or when replacing tired or damaged bearings that have seen considerable use.

Built to exacting standards, the BLH-1678 bearings support consistent running and efficient rotation across a wide range of RC applications. When bearings begin to wear or accumulate dirt and debris, they can cause increased friction, vibration, and drag, which directly impacts acceleration, top speed and overall handling characteristics. By replacing worn bearings with this genuine Blade set, you can restore your RC model to its intended performance level and extend the working life of other drivetrain components. The inclusion of step washers ensures correct spacing during installation, allowing you to achieve a proper fit and reliable operation every time.

RC enthusiasts across the UK trust Blade as a brand synonymous with quality replacement parts and genuine accessories. Using authentic OEM (original equipment manufacturer) bearings ensures compatibility with your specific model and maintains the precision tolerances that manufacturers design into their vehicles. Whether you race competitively, bash at the weekend, or simply enjoy maintaining your collection, this bearing set belongs in your spares box.

Key Features

  • Precision 10x19x5mm Radial Ball Bearings — These bearings are engineered to tight tolerances to ensure smooth, friction-free rotation and maintain the performance characteristics your RC model was designed for. Precision bearings reduce drag and heat generation, which means better acceleration and longer runtime between charges.
  • Set of Four Bearings — Four complete bearings allow you to service multiple drivetrain locations or replace an entire damaged set across your RC vehicle. This quantity is ideal for models that use multiple bearings in their driveshaft, differential, or transmission systems.
  • Included Step Washers — Two step washers are provided to assist with correct spacing during installation, helping you achieve the precise geometry and preload settings your model requires for optimal performance. Proper spacing prevents binding, excessive play, and ensures the bearings operate within their designed parameters.
  • Genuine Blade Manufacturing — As an authorised OEM spare part, these bearings are manufactured to the exact specifications required by Blade models. Using genuine parts eliminates compatibility concerns and ensures your model receives the quality components it was engineered to use.
  • Routine Maintenance Essential — Bearings are consumable items that wear with use. Regular replacement of worn bearings is one of the most cost-effective ways to maintain consistent performance and prevent premature wear to expensive drivetrain components like motors, gearboxes and differentials.
  • Direct Replacement Fitment — These bearings serve as direct replacements where specified in your model's manual, making installation straightforward for both experienced builders and those new to RC maintenance and repair.

Technical Performance

The BLH-1678 bearing set utilises precision ball bearing technology to provide smooth, low-friction rotation in RC drivetrains. The 10x19x5mm dimensional specification denotes the inner diameter (10mm), outer diameter (19mm), and width (5mm) of each bearing—measurements that have been carefully selected to match the exact clearances and loads experienced in Blade RC models. Ball bearings reduce friction compared to sleeve bearings or other bearing types, which directly translates to improved efficiency, reduced power consumption, and less heat generation during operation. The radial ball bearing design is particularly well-suited to side-loading scenarios common in RC vehicle suspensions, differentials and drivetrain arrangements. When properly installed with the included step washers, these bearings operate within their design envelope, supporting consistent running and minimising wear over hundreds of hours of use. The precision manufacturing inherent in genuine Blade parts ensures that each bearing in the set maintains uniform tolerances, preventing the vibration and noise that can result from mismatched or low-quality bearings. For RC car UK users, truck enthusiasts, and helicopter pilots alike, maintaining a stock of quality replacement bearings is part of responsible ownership and extends the usable life of your models significantly.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the purpose of step washers included in this bearing set? — Step washers are precision spacers that ensure correct spacing and geometry during bearing installation. They help prevent binding, excessive play, and ensure that bearings operate at their designed preload. Proper spacing is critical for smooth rotation and longevity.
  • How do I know when bearings need replacing in my RC model? — Signs of worn bearings include increased friction when rotating shafts by hand, grinding or squealing noises, vibration during operation, reduced top speed, and increased current draw from your motor. If you experience any of these symptoms, replacement bearings should be installed promptly to prevent further damage to your drivetrain.
  • Are these bearings suitable for all Blade RC models? — These BLH-1678 bearings are specified for use in Blade models that require 10x19x5mm radial ball bearings. Always consult your specific model's manual to confirm the correct bearing specification before ordering. Using the correct bearing size and type is essential for proper fit and performance.
  • Can I use aftermarket bearings instead of genuine Blade parts? — Whilst aftermarket bearings may be available at lower prices, genuine Blade parts are engineered to the exact tolerances and materials specified by the manufacturer. Using genuine bearings ensures compatibility, reliability, and maintains the performance characteristics your model was designed to deliver. For critical components like bearings, OEM parts represent the best long-term investment.
  • How often should I replace bearings in my RC model? — The replacement interval depends on usage frequency, driving conditions, and how well you maintain your model. Weekly users may need to replace bearings annually, whilst occasional hobbyists might go 2-3 years or more. Regular inspection and listening for signs of wear will tell you when replacement is necessary.
